Losing WIRELESS card - can't fix

I installed the router and set up the base station wired and wireless remote station (in the room). At random intervals both computers show no connection to internet. Repair the connection go through stages and shows still not computers. Using Network Magic to fix the results in the instruction to unplug the router, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect the router. It works and both computers are then able to access the internet.

How can I change the settings, if necessary, to avoid giving up the connection to the ISP? ISP is Comcast and router WRT54G2 V2. I used Network Magic to install, change the name of my network and otherwise using default values. I had put in printer sharing, but withdrew it.

It is excessive to have to turn down the power to the router to prevent the work of network.

TIA.

Gary

Well, I lied. Maybe it's my last post on the thread.

The router kept giving up the connection to the ISP, so I finally broke down and installed the firmware update. This erases everything. I had a lot of trouble getting two connections on the network (the one from my computer to the router, the other to connect to the LAN to my NIC). Once both were working (and I still don't know how I got the network connection) I made very few changes to the configuration of the router:

MTU 1350

Frag threshold to 2304

RTS threshold to 2304

changed the SSID for my network name

changed password for the one I use

Set to channel 6

Save this arrangement. Notice I left the default DNS and gave up to use Google's servers.

Now everything works and stay connected as it should. I think so! It's been two days, with various closed down and reboot. System is finally here! My wife is happy, I'm happy. Cisco must be happy!

In any case, never give up.

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice. I'm sure it's all good, but I didn't need everything to finally get the connection work.

  • Can I install a wireless card in my Satellite P30-141 wireless Bay?

P30-141 does not come with wireless capabilities and I can't follow all the cables of wireless antennas that must reside in the top cover of the machine, but I would like to know if it is possible to undertake my own installation of a toshiba wireless card? Would anyone out there know of a specific wireless card model / reference number that could be used to do this? I am quiet happy tinkering around inside the machine, like its four years past the warranty I think I already replaced the LCD once, so I'm pretty familiar with the guts, just can't find any documentation on this component getting in this particular machine.

Any advice would be a great help!

    Hello

As far as I know the number of units of the Satellite P30 series were equipped with card WLan.
So I think that the motherboard must contain the necessary PCI WLan mini slot.
But the question is if this unit was equipped with the WLan antenna.
If there is no cable antenna (black, white) near the miniPCI location, then this would mean that the WLan antenna is not available and this means that you could not install the card miniPCI Wlan module.
Without the antenna you will receive no WLan signal!

Why you n t try a USB WiFi key? It s in use and you don t just any external antenna.

However, your laptop is fairly new to the issue of the white list. In other words, you can install any wifi card with the right form factor and the number of antennas, not only to the choice of HP. See p. 49. Access is easy. You need a mini-pcie half height with 2 antennas. You have an AMD processor, if you want to avoid the Intel models.

Something like that would be a top choice of the line with a maximum performance:

  • Files corrupted win 7; can I fix it without losing any data?

    I have a HPp7 - 1137c.  6gig ram.  Win7.  I corrupted files win 7; can I fix it without losing any data?

    Hello:

I don't know why some programs that you have installed have disappeared after the repair process.

Yes, the method of reinstalling windows without losing files is correct as long as you don't let windows not delete or format the partition.

What happens is that it creates a Windows.old folder and you can copy all your files from windows.old to the new facility.

However, you will need to reinstall all your programs, because there will be only a simplified version of Windows 7 installed with no program.

This is the method I use (I still have my files backed up just in case), but it's so easy to go in the windows.old folder and transfer my files and internet favorite folders from the windows.old folder to the new installation of windows.
