loss of all controlfiles are backed up
Hi allI lost all the controlfiles, for which I have backup.
I restored all and mounted the db.
now issued a command: recover the database by using the backup control file
where it gives me the auto options, cancel everything trying to find a newspaper archive that is missing.
I tried the two auto cancel but the media recovery did not happen and it is why I'm not able to open the PB with reset logs.
Help, please... Thank you!
Please follow:
Restoring a backup to the default location control file
If possible, restore the control file to its original location. In this way, you avoid having to specify the new locations of control files in the initialization parameter file.
To restore a backup control file in its default location:
1.
If the instance is still running, stop it:
THE JUDGMENT
2.
Correct the hardware problem that caused the failure of a support.
3.
Restore the control file backup for all of the locations specified in the parameter CONTROL_FILES. For example, if ORACLE_HOME/oradata/trgt/control01.dbf and ORACLE_HOME/oradata/trgt/control02.dbf are the locations of control file listed in the file of the server settings, and then use an operating system utility to restore the backup control file to these locations:
% cp /backup/control01.dbf ORACLE_HOME/oradata/trgt/control01.dbf
% cp /backup/control02.dbf ORACLE_HOME/oradata/trgt/control02.dbf
4.
Start a new instance and mount the database. For example, enter:
STARTUP MOUNT
5.
Start recovery by running the RECOVER command with the the HELP of BACKUP CONTROLFILE clause. Specify up to CANCEL if you perform incomplete recovery. For example, enter:
RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE UNTIL CANCEL
6.
Apply logs archived prompted. If you then receive another message saying that the required archived log is missing, this probably means that a recording of necessary redo is available in online redo logs. This situation can occur when the changes not archived were located in online newspapers when the instance has crashed.
For example, you see the following:
ORA-00279: change 55636 generated at 08/11/2002 16:59:47 necessary to screw 1
You can specify the name of an online redo log and press enter (you may need to try this several times until you find the correct journal): ORACLE_HOME/oradata/redo01.dbf If online newspapers are inaccessible, then you can cancel the recovery without applying them. If all the data files are up to date, and must be repeated in newspapers online for recovery, you cannot open the database without applying online newspapers. If online newspapers are inaccessible, then you must re-create the control file, as described in "create new control file after losing all current and backup control files. Open the database with the RESETLOGS option after finishing recovery: ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS; Please read: http://youngcow.NET/doc/Oracle10g/backup.102/b14191/osrecov005.htm Concerning
ORA-00289: suggestion: /oracle/work/arc_dest/arcr_1_111.arc
ORA-00280: change 55636 thread 1 is in sequence #111
Specify the log: {
Application log.
Complete media recovery.

All my research are back in the search engine Yahoo finder without danger.
All my research are back in the search engine Yahoo finder without danger. I ran the fixes suggested in other threads with the same problem, but I still get Yahoo search results. Google is my selected search engine.
I noticed that the problem happens when I type my research in space on the search page itself. This search page looks a bit like a page from Google, but there no links etc than Google does. Instead, he has "SearchTech" downstairs (with Contact, privacy and terms). If I type my research topic in the menu bar the results come back in Google.
I confirmed that my favorite search engine is Google. Previously I ran LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons and removed three files to those who had been loaded on my computer today. I checked the extensions are that there is not.

Loss of all control files and two independent of the system tablespace data files.
Hello
Loss of the controlfile and 2 data files: February 25, 2010... 15:00
Database: in Archivelog mode
Backup: controlfile and all (6) datafiles on February 20, 2010 and all archive logs are available up to the failure
-Wanted to recover.Even if the controlfiles are restored from a backup, as long as the archive + online redo logs are available, you can make a FULL recovery.
At the end of the recovery, an OPEN RESETLOGS would update the controlfile with correct information about SNA sequence # and headers of files.
(Of course, the RESETLOGS would mean a new incarnation is created and log sequence numbers start from 1 - if you perform a backup as soon as possible after the RESETLOGS).Hemant K Collette

In the bird of fire, I have loss of all messages; must fix whenever I log on
My wife and I have separate emails, both are available on Thunderbird. Every time one of us open a session, all messages have gone replace only with very light diagonal stripes of roses. Messages for each address can be retrieved by right-clicking on the address, then by clicking on the 'Properties' option, then clicking on the button 'fix' in the properties box. If we change from one address to another, all messages are lost again and the same process must be repeated. Back to the first address reveals all still lost messages. This has been a problem for several days and I have no idea what he brought the or how to fix permanently. Any ideas?
I suspect that the candy stripes are an indication that there is a filter applied, probably the QuickFilter bar. When you repair the file, you reset any flag is that is filtered and the messages again.
Check your QuickFilter bar and make sure that all filtering options are disabled.

all programs are needed to start?
all programs are needed to start?
Apparently not.
I have zero startup items and my system works fine. That may not work for everyone, but it's the way I like to run - lean and mean hoping for infections of malware if I can keep on my toes on the way to correctI don't know that anyone could tell you what startup programs, you need or those who you don't need without more information on the issue, trying to solve... or are - this just curiosity.Where do you see these startup items, that you remember to turn off and what are they?If you want to help looking at your startup items, I would like to start here:Since the Microsoft Answers forum does not have any kind of information system request when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system. Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.Thank you MS Answers, allowing the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.Provide information on your system, the better you can:What is your system brand and model?What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?What is your Internet browser and version?Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..Next:I would like to use CCleaner to watch all your startup items and you might be able to identify and disable the (this may take a few passes) or if you look at the list of startup items and do not know what to do, you can publish a list of your startup items and someone can help you to look at.Here's how:Download CCleaner here:CCleaner allows you to manage most of the startup items and also do some other operations oriented cleaning. Some people will you recommend is not to use the registry functions in CCleaner to avoid these features for now. I have no problem with it for me, but sometimes it's a contentious issue, I prefer to avoid as much as possibleYou can uninstall CCleaner later if you don't like it.You can disable the startup items, see how things look and if you want to - delete totally useless, or just startup items leave the disabled while you continue troubleshooting. Note that disabling things does not uninstall anything, and if there is a problem, you can simply re-enable the point. If you're sure you don't want at all, then you can delete it.After launch of CCleaner and see what startup items you can disable/remove, if you are still not sure of your startup items, follow these steps:Run CCleaner and choose Tools, boot and bottom right, click on the button "Save to text file" to save the startup information in a text file on your desktop with a name you remember - something like startup.txtSave the boot information text file on your desktop (or somewhere you can find it) open the text file with an editor (Notepad or WordPad), select all (Ctrl-A), copy text, all the text selected in the Windows Clipboard (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the startup list to come back here in your next reply and maybe someone can tell you other things to consider.A more revealing startup Analyzer is Autoruns which will allow the manipulation of all sectors of boot and does not actually install anything:I have zero startup items on my computer and my startup list is empty, so none of this is important to me! -
Original title: broken shortcut

Hello
1. what changes have been made to your computer before the problem?
Follow these steps and check if they help.
Step 1:
I would say you rebuild the icon cache and check if the problem persists.
a. press the keyboard Windows logo key combination + R to bring up the Run dialog box.
b. type cmd and press ENTER to open the command prompt window.
c. in the command prompt window, type the following commands pressing ENTER after each line:
Taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
attrib-h "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\IconCache.db.
del "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\IconCache.db.
Explorer.exed. this restart Windows Explorer and rebuild the cache icons as needed.
Step 2:
Test the issue in a new user account.

After you have installed the latest patches, all icons are shaded with vertical lines undulate on them. Computers desktop and in Windows Explorer. Application windows appear clear, but icnos in their midst are the same way. What should I do to fix this anomaly?
-J' tried the obvious desktop refresh. No change.
-J' rebooted in safe mode, and then back to standard mode. No change.What else can I try?
Hi JimGoode,
Unfortunately, the screenshots are not available in the post.
Given that the question does not appear in safe mode, then it is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.
I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.
If the previous step fails, then use SkyDrive download screenshots of icons.
Use SkyDrive download collected files and after shot/screenshot.

Hi salima Bardet,.
1. When did you start to question?
2. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?
You can consult the following Microsoft KB article and run the fix to resolve the problem:

Is no vmdk file, but the script says, all virtual machines backed up Ok!
Hello everyone;
Please excuse any lack of details because this is the first time that I write. I've scoured internet for days now trying to find no matter how much detail that could help me solve the problem. I'm new in the world of script ESXi and ghettoVCB.
My intention is to run several tasks on a schedule. Each type of backup (quarterly, monthly, weekly, daily and multiple) runs at a specific time. The planning section works very well.
I'm hoping to solve this urgent backup, I should be able to solve reboot.
Here is the command I use:
/vmfs/volumes/datastore1/ghettoVCB.sh w /tmp/ghettoVCB-work.multiple f/vmfs/volumes/datastore1/vmlist-Multiple g/vmfs/volumes/datastore1/vmconfig-DataSet1-multiple-l /vmfs/volumes/datastore1/ghettoVCB_logs/ghettoVCB.Multiple_Backup.logvmconfig-DataSet1-multiple contains:
# Multiple backups - rotation County 6
#
VM_BACKUP_VOLUME = / vmfs/volumes/Vault2-DataSet1/URANUS/Multiple
DISK_BACKUP_FORMAT = thin
VM_BACKUP_ROTATION_COUNT = 6
POWER_VM_DOWN_BEFORE_BACKUP = 0
ENABLE_HARD_POWER_OFF = 0
ITER_TO_WAIT_SHUTDOWN = 4
POWER_DOWN_TIMEOUT = 5
SNAPSHOT_TIMEOUT = 15
ENABLE_COMPRESSION = 0
VM_SNAPSHOT_MEMORY = 0
VM_SNAPSHOT_QUIESCE = 0
VMDK_FILES_TO_BACKUP =
Vmlist-multiple contains 1 server is listed:
# List all virtual machines that are backed up several times a day
HEAT
The log indicates that the backup was successful - but it has not been the case. Backup size should be approximately 8 GB. However, when you look at the output folder, only the following files are here:
HEAT.vmx
STATUS.ok
Question is now - where are the vmdk files that should be present?
Output (-d debug) can be found here: http://pastebin.com/hMGphTL3
So, here is what I observed:
When you run the script, the snapshot only takes a few seconds to create and delete then. I'm seeing happens on the list of the tasks of vSphere Rencent (screenshot attached).
If I create a snapshot manually - it will take much more time to create and delete a snapshot. The difference here is 6 minutes, and 4 seconds using the script create a snapshot manually.
So my presumption is that he is not actually create the snapshot, although vSphere said it is being created. So why is it the case?
Help, please.
ADDENDUM:
If I run the following:
./ghettoVCB.sh m HEAT
The backup is successful.
Your said he clearly did not config file to back up all files hard.
VMDK_FILES_TO_BACKUP =
I expect to see something like this if you want all the hard files
VMDK_FILES_TO_BACKUP = "all".
