  Yes, it can.  Any BlackBerry OS 7 running phone can be updated OS 7.1 to enable the Mobile Hotspot.  You might not be able to get the update of the OS of your provider, but you can always download it from another carrier.

  I was wondering if I can use a keyboard microsoft bluetooth mobile keyboard 5000 with my Blackberry Bold 9900 phone?  When I go to the pair, the phone finds the Microsoft keyboard, but he asks me a key digital authentication, then for an alphanumeric password.

  Keyboard manual says that if you are asked an authentication key, let the program create, but my Blackberry does not create anything, he's looking for the authentication key.

  It is a company phone.  Should I contact my COMPUTER tech support to see if they can shed some light on this or did someone here knows what I can do to remedy this?

  That the keyboard does not support the Bluetooth HID profile.  BlackBerry requires Bluetooth SPP profile.

  I just got my phone upgrade a Bold 9790.

  I used COMICS (version 7.1.0.32 - Bundle 33) from my 8520 curve old (V5.0.0.1036) to the new "BOLD". Or at least I tried... Everything went well until downloading the data and I finished with a white screen with an error "App 603" and there is nothing I can do because it constantly goes into a reboot loop.

  I'm looking around and there are a lot of suggestions on the reinstallation of the OS, which I don't mind as it's a new phone anyway. Problem, it's that the BDS does not see the phone now so reloading in this way is a no go. I can't exit the white screen on the "BOLD" either...

  Other solutions?

  I've set up the password on the device.  It confirms.  everything was fine, then he asked my password and it says it was a mistake.  Yes, stupid me I've tried 10 times the same password I had set up a minute ago and the bb would not recognize it.  He gave me a final warning that if I tried it would erase my info.  I tried!  a white screen appeared.  I removed the battery and then put it again.  bb loaded and then a white screen appeared and a small icon (looked like a sim card) appeared as well with an X on the half top and a line under the icon has increased as the percentages increase (as if erasure?!).  I said don't let go further and once more, I removed the battery.   I called rogers and they said to save the BB on the computer and then reset it and download the software.  I did not dare put the battery because I'm afraid that it will continue to remove the sim card.

  Help!  What should I do?

  It is already too late... the WIPE started and cannot be stopped.
