Lost access to the documents after restart

I had to reboot your computer due to hardware malfuntion. After the reboot, all the old data was recorded in a folder called my old programs. The computer has two user accounts. The two Adminstratotrs, one with password protection, the other without. Documents of the user account with password are not accessible, even if they are still on the hard drive and appear on the virus scan.

What do you mean "not accessible"? Have you seen them but get an error "access denied"? If Yes, then you just need to take ownership of files.

    The problem

We went through the entire process of upgrading our server for vSphere 4.0 to 4.1 to manage a stand-alone ESXi 4.1 system, so our attentions turn to our 3 blades running ESXi 4.0u1 we used the built in Update Manager, downloaded the 4.0 to 4.1 upgrade file and we have improved our first blade and it did not notice problems as there put servers have was little used those.  We then upgraded the second and moved our main mail on her server.

It was when we did that we started getting errors when people were losing connection to the exchange server, after some research we've seen of the event and we have been to see the error:

"Lost access to the volume because of connectivity issues."  Recovery attempt is underway and the results will be available shortly"

Then 10 seconds later we get the message:

"Successfully restored access to the volume due to connectivity problems."

This error only occurs on the blades of 4.1, we have restored a blade on 4.0 and errors are not displayed and no errors were reported with the servers on this blade.  As far as we can say it is not a network problem since all blades for iSCSI traffic flows on the same switches to the Lefthands, and we were losing the connection to volumes on the two Lefthands.

We have a call connected with HP about this, but from the Yes, we cannot determine what is causing this problem and how to solve.

So any help is greatly appricated

  • Restore access to My Documents after reinstalling XP, I get the message: 'access denied '.

Original title: restore access to My Documents after reinstalling XP

Recently, I acquired a virus with which Microsoft Security Essentials could not cope.  Then one day the computer refused to start.  I wrongly assumed that my hard drive was dead, so I installed a new HD and reinstalled Windows XP.  [Actually, I first tried the upgrade to Windows 7, because program upgrade windows 7 Microsoft has already said that my computer was compatible... but Windows 7 disk says otherwise!]  Then I tried to install the HD original in an another drive Bay and discovered it still worked, but I could not boot from it.  Apparently, the virus has killed the OS (Windows XP) but my files, programs and documents are still there.  The problem is that when I try to access my old "My Documents" folder, I get the message: 'access denied '.  I believe that this is because the files are stored in a password protected user account.  I know the password, but I do not know how to access the files.

I tried to create a user account on my new HD (with the operating system Windows XP reinstalled) with the same name and the password that I used on my original (with the Windows operating system XP corrupted) HD to create all the document files.  However, opening a session with this account name and password did NOT restore my access to the My Documents folder on my original hard drive.

I'm out of ideas.  Help, please!

    [Moved from comments]

    Hi Alan,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

According to the description of the problem, it seems that you have lost access to the files of data and images after doing a system restore.

I would appreciate it if you could answer the following questions to help you best:

    1. Why did you perform a system restore?

2 do you have questions about the computer?

    3. If so, please specify the question to better help you?

    4. What are the data and images file format?

System Restore will return all your files non-system as documents, email, music, etc., to a previous state. These files of types are completely affected by the restoration of the system.

Based on the current situation, I suggest you to Undo a restoration of the system after performing a system restore.

Check out the link and check if that helps.

If I understand correctly, Windows XP indeed cannot replace printer drivers in certain circumstances.  The best way to go is to make sure that the old (maybe corrupted) driver is deleted and then reinstall the printer using an installation package of fresh driver (usually obtained by downloading from the website of the printer mfr).

    1. Unplug the printer.
    2. Uninstall the software associated with the printer using the control panel > Add / Remove programs.
    3. Open Printers and faxes and delete the printer (right click > delete)
    4. In printers and faxes, click file > server properties > tab drivers.  Select the driver concerned, then click on remove.
    5. Restart the computer.
    6. Run the installation package that you downloaded.  Do not connect the printer until prompted by the installation program.

Original title: Guest account Internet connection

I am using an account on windows 7

There has just been an automatic update, lastnight (13 December), and now I've lost access to internet through the guest account.

I think that because of the update, the administrator must log or something, but I'm lost what to do. The internet worked for the guest before the update account and I do not have the administrator password. The administrator has not used the computer because I had an internet connection, as they went on vacation. I'm looking after their cats!

    Any help would be great.

    See you soon

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

Since you lost the internet connection after updating, you may need to update the NIC drivers to retrieve the connection. This is possible only if you have administrator privileges.

For more information, see the article:

    What is a guest account?

However, you can check if you can try the steps in the article to resolve the problem. If this isn't the case, you may need to wait for the administrator to return the party to the same difficulty.

  • Login items disappears from the list after restart

After update to OS X, I noticed, that some applications work only not after reboot (for example Google Drive or iMessages). In 'Preferences system-> users & groups-> login items' list contain only one point (dropbox), but it should contain other applications.

I add it manually all needed apps, system restart. Apps launch during the connection. But in "Login Items" once again only one item - dropbox. After the second restart - only launch of dropbox.

Why custom connection list disappears after reboot?

P.S.: Sorry for the bad English

Please triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select:

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginitems.plist

Right-click or Ctrl-click on the highlighted line and select

Services ▹ display info in the Finder (or simply to view info)

of the menu.* contextual Info year dialog should open.

☞ Is the dialog box display "You can read and write" in the section sharing & permissions?

Article in the General ☞, is the locked box checked?

☞ What is the modification date?

If you do not read and write access to the item, change the settings as directed here. Note, however, that if a file has incorrect access settings, probably others as well. If the item is locked, unlock it.

    * If you do not see the item context menu copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Open a TextEdit window and paste it (command-V). Select the line that you just pasted and continue as above.

  • Lost access to the collector

    Hello

I have questions accessing the collection. The collector is running for about 3 weeks with no problems. Yesterday, one of my admins restarted vCenter (5.5), and since the restart, I was not able to access the collection through the site or through vCenter. When you try to access it from the console in vCenter, I just get the "Press any key to continue." I push a button, and nothing happens. I waited for hours and still nothing. The virtual machine has been restarted several times, I added additional resources.

Any idea on what is happening here?

    Thanks in advance,

    Fredrick

    Hey Fredrick,

After the virtual machine restarts and wait 15-20 minutes so that it starts, try to ping the IP address that assigned you. If you are able to ping, try to SSH in.

    Thank you

  • lost access to ISE GUI after upgrade

I upgraded ISE 1.3 to 2.0, not only lost my integration with active directory, but also the local account of GUI. I still have access to the command line, but I know that the admin user/pass there are different than those of the GUI, but you can see them in the command line, but the command is different from the ordinary

    JOEblow username pass plain SOandSO

If anyone can post a sanitized copy of the show run. user b, I anticipate that we could recreate credentials of the local GUI, the command line if you still have access to it. I don't know what is the exact command.

This document below is specifically integration with active directory, but not this problem:

Cannot access the upgrade of the Post of the Page of the ISE Login to the admin user

As far as I KNOW, only username syntax exists for ISE is to create the CLI user account and no gui.

  • Failed to retrieve the documents after removing a virus

    original title: strange Desktop

Well, I recently opened my computer, which corresponds to about 1 year and a half old after cleaning those annoying false security virus and I noticed that my entire office was empty except for a few icons base such as computers that were left. This means that all of my pictures and word documents had "disappeared". In addition, I can't change the wallpaper of a photo or themes they have, I can use a solid color background. Now, back to the documents. I have the feeling that they are present, because when I save a document with a homonymous denomination on the desktop, it comes out with the classic "there is already a file with the same name... consider changing this blah blah" and I can play songs from itunes that well that are invisible on the desktop come from there. For more details, I created another account and it works very well in the show view-images and background themes. My thingy user accounts file is empty which is weird, because it's supposed to be where are all my documents, but I always have to open some that are in the recently opened in Microsoft word.

The point of this question is just to ask if any1 else has had a similar problem and what to do? I prefer to recover my documents word if possible, but if this is not possible then I will just sacrifice their.

You can check your download folder if you have not already, or if you received these documents in an e-mail or never sent, they could possibly be, check all mail or sent mail.

You probably understood by now to do the manual backup is pretty important now days with any malware threats out there.

Malewarebytes doesn't do a good job and is much better than what microsoft can do with security essentials garbage.

Another good free product that is inexpensive to purchase so is.

  • Microsoft Security Essentials icon, absent from the taskbar after restarting Windows XP

original title: lack of Windows XP icons after restart

After that I restarted my antivirus, Microsoft Security Essentials icon is missing from the taskbar. It also happened when I have ESET NOD32 installed. When I disable the SSDP Discovery Service, in the section of the Admin, it will appear. But when I go back and set it to automatic, it will still be absent.

For all that is you probably not need to have running SSDP Discovery Service, for security reasons almost always disable this service on any system that I put in place.
