    Loss of the controlfile and 2 data files: February 25, 2010... 15:00

    Database: in Archivelog mode

    Backup: controlfile and all (6) datafiles on February 20, 2010 and all archive logs are available up to the failure

    -Wanted to recover.

    Even if the controlfiles are restored from a backup, as long as the archive + online redo logs are available, you can make a FULL recovery.
    At the end of the recovery, an OPEN RESETLOGS would update the controlfile with correct information about SNA sequence # and headers of files.
    (Of course, the RESETLOGS would mean a new incarnation is created and log sequence numbers start from 1 - if you perform a backup as soon as possible after the RESETLOGS).

  • Why, when my laptop installed new updates I lost all my files and information?

    My laptop was working fine yesterday, or at least the last time I got on this morning when I turn it on it started to install the new updates and when the computer came, I had lost all my information.

    Hello

    1. the files or information are you referring to?

    2. where they have been stored?

    3. what day do you have installed?

    Step 1: Try to search these files using the windows search and check if you can find them.

    Step 2: Alternatively, you can try to perform the audit and system restore if you can find them.

  • Moved the files and want to know how to load the site via site management

    Greetings,

    First that I want to say a big thank YOU to everyone here who has been so helpful to get my new site up and running. It's no feat HTML, but that's exactly what my company needed... a total facelift with modern navigation, with the result a nice jump sales. Life is good.

    Problem: I moved all my files to a new Apple computer (if that makes a difference) and I can not understand how to get the site appears in the list of FILES. It seems to me that remind do you through the SITE MANAGEMENT window, but when I stand in the folder with all the files that they are all grayed and the help link says to look for a file with the extension .ste but nothing like that is there. Obviously, I'm doing something wrong.

    I'm lost and must ask for your patience once more. I tried searching the forum without success.

    Thank you in advance,

    A related question - I've updated some of my pages (via the Finder) since I moved the site.

    Is a Finder HTML editor?

    Drop the file .ste in re files folder - find problem?

    It should not hurt your site.

    Have you tried to do the restore of the system in SafeMode as stated in my answer 1 to you?

    If it doesn't/does not work:

    If you do not want to repost in the Windows Update Forum (they are the specialists it for the best advice regarding your problem), make this disc Bootable startup repair and use it to do a system restore or uninstall the updates by using the method 2nd in my 1st reply:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    See you soon.

  • Control files and backup spfile

    Hi all

    This is a database of GR 11, 2. There is a running script to keep the full backup.

    crosscheck archivelog all;
    crosscheck backup;
    backup database;
    backup archivelog all delete input;
    delete noprompt obsolete;

    I checked the controlfile autobackup using - show controlfile autobackup.    and it is turned OFF

    But when I run - list backup of controlfile; list backup of spfile;

    I find that contolfile benefits from the support upwards and also through the above script spfile

    Can someone please explain to me how this happens without controlfile autobackup

    Thanks in advance

    This is a normal behavior on version 11.2 and beyond

    No matter if controlfile autobackup turned OFF, RMAN automatically includes the control file and the server settings file in the backups of data file1

    (i.e backup database command always include datafile 1 which trigger backup of control and spfile).

    If you use Outlook Express, then locate the *.wab computer.  If this is not the case, then you must be specific to the subject what email program you use, and what form of e-mail account you have and what operating system you are using, as your questions depend on this, and we have no idea if not.

After several cleaning including defrag programs I discovered that all the files are hidden and when you browse through to find some are readable, but all pictures are grayed out and instantly sunk. If anyone has experienced this problem or can anyone advise how to clear this mess.

    Hi AndrewHansford,

    As you have used various cleanup programs, this problem persists.

    Follow the steps in the article below to view the hidden files and folders:

    Once you find the files you're looking for, check if you can view the contents of it without any problem.
