  • With problems of backup of the files on my Windows Vista computer

    original title: backup of files

Should I back up my files because my laptop needs to be repaired and my manufacturer says they will delete all my files when they fix it. Can I do it myself with a plug-in or should I have a professional to do? I don't know I can even do that because even if the power led lights up the screen remains white and it beeps constantly.

    Hello

If the screen remains blank and you have the error beep codes that normally indicate a hardware problem, I suggest you take it to a professional to get your data before handing over to manufacturers of laptop for repair.

There is information below in this answer as to how you can recover your data if you are comfortable with the process of making

but it involves opening the laptop

    For your information:

to ensure that the beep codes mean you need to know what is the bios of your laptop and then read it as the links below average error codes

    http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml

    http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

Read this on the record of your data:

as you can not start your machine due to a suspected hardware problem you can use a linux-based cd to recover data when there is a problem with your hardware that a linux cd must still use to operate because it uses your laptop hardware to operate: card mother etc.

    To save the data:

1 remove the hard drive from the laptop and it slave in another computer

2 buy or borrow a USB disk drive hard case laptop insert in it, then connect the speaker to another computer

Use anyway to try to read the data on this portable hard drive from another computer

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

It seems that you have problems with downloading files on the windows vista computer.

The description of the problem seems a little unclear and I wish I had a better understanding before you start working on it. I would appreciate if you can help me with the following information.

    1. what browser you use on the computer?

    2. What is the exact full error message?

    3. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?

    4. deal with this problem if you try to download all files from online?

If you do this in the face of Internet Explorer help, I suggest that you should change the default download location and check if it helps.

    Method 1

In internet explorer, you can change the default location.

    Here's how:

    a. open internet explorer.

    b. click on Tools , then select view downloads.

    c. downloads for window, click Options.

    d. now, enter the default download location and click on the OK button.

Turn on the computer at the beginning of boot and check if the problem persists.

    Method 2

Perform a clean boot to see if no third-party service is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: follow step 3 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

Your photos and other files should still be there under C:\Users\Your user Name\

I accidentally pressed no to back up my files when I did a full system restore to factory settings. Now, I've lost all my files. How can I get back them.

Please give me a step by step guide.
    Windows Vista/32 Bit

    Thanks in advance.

First of all, please note that what you were doing was * not * a system restore. System Restore is a * Windows * function restores Windows and has nothing to do with your files.

What you were doing was the recovery of the system provided by the manufacturer of your computer. That puts shaped windows in car and renstalls hard on it. You probably can't get your files back.

Allow me to mention something else. Your question indicates that you do not have a regular backup of your important files. If this is the case, you are playing with fire. Even if you never make a system recovery, it is always possible that a hard disk crash, the user error, close to love at first sight, virus attack, even stolen computer, can result in the loss of everything on your drive. As it has often been said, it is not a question of whether you will have a problem, but when.

You can read this article on the backup that I wrote: 'Return to top your computer regularly and reliable' to http://www.computorcompanion.com/LPMArticle.asp?ID=314

I tried to unzip the files, I have downloaded from the Web site by using the context menu "extract all... "on the file.  I have a Board error saying that the compressed (zipped) folder is empty.  If I try a double click on the file, I get the message that the zip file is not valid.  This has happened to every zip file I tried to unpack so far.  The only files I can unpack so far are those I zipped myself using the context menu "send to folder of Compssed of-->" of Windows Vista.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Eddie Hersh,.

Thanks for choosing the Windows Vista Forum.

1 how long have you had this problem?

    2. If it works well before?

Make sure that the download of the file is not corrupted.

You can perform the steps in the link below and check if it works.

  • Lost all my files after resetting by mistake my computer setting factory

I just accidentally reset my computer to factory setting and I lost all my files so please help me restore my previous version with my files. Thank you

I'm afraid there is no way that you can recover your files if you have reset your computer using factory reset. Bit late now, but should have backed up your files externally.

  • I lost all my files from my pc

    Dear Sir.

I cut & copy all my files (50 GB) from my laptop on another pc. then I lost all my files, I tried to restore the last restore point there was a mistake. then I updated my pc & I tried there was point (failback). I tried the restore point manually to the day that I lost all my files. also, I couldn't have my files.

then I tried to backup my files from the file history, but it was more than 5 hours of operation nothing I had, and then stopped & closed the file history.

now, what is the best way to get all my files without damage

Cut & copy is not a safe way to make a transfer.  Obviously you know that now.  If there was no 50 GB you might find something in the trash, but I seriously doubt that you will be able to recover these files.

One thing I might try is an application named "recuva" which CAN recover some of them, but more recovery is doubtful
