  It depends on the type of video file. If these are files .flv (such as youtube.com), you must install Flash for Firefox; you have not installed for Firefox.   Versions of Firefox 3.6 + have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.

  Press the Alt key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open view > toolbars and select menu bar, so it has a check mark.
  
  The F10 can also be used on most PCs to temporarily reveal the menu bar.

  The Windows 8.1 update create a backup folder called C:\Windows.old? If so, your data can probably be found here:

  C:\Windows.old\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

  Let's call the menu bar (or 'classic' menu bar).

  To activate different bars on and outside, you can use one of the various methods to display a list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:

  • Right click on a place empty on the tab bar (or the button '+')
  • Press the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar > view > toolbars
  • in customize mode > show/hide toolbars (see: Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars)

  To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.

• Context menus missing upper parts (from file, edit, history, Favorites, tools, help)

  When I click on any of the subjects in the FF menu, the upper parts are absent, and the menu flashes when I move the mouse inside. I can't see or click on the first of several items in each menu.   Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

• Hello. I'm not really gifted computer by all means, please bear w / me. But how do you adjust/resize the title bar and all options under? (File, Edit, View, history, Favorites, tools, help)

  I've adjusted the screen resolutions for my monitor and now everything is clear/more sharper, but now smaller. I adjusted the size for the icons, fine. A the same for the size the text/font/zoom, and everything has changed except options I have mentioned beforehand. All options (file, publishing, display, etc.) are always the same size, tiny and very difficult to see. Please help and I appreciate all the answers.

  You see the orange (on Linux gray) Firefox button if the menu bar is hidden, to hide the menu bar through the view > toolbars, also accessible via Firefox > Options.
