lost history

Hello

First of all, I have a DELL Inspiron 530 Desktop with Linux Mint 10 installed and Firefox 7.0.1 s.

The problem is: the pc market today, but found that 'History'-> 'View history', but, only research "today" were revealed - no history of the last days, weeks...! However, "Bookmark" has not changed, and everything is still there.

I see no reason for what is happening, except that I had some trouble getting online recently by the TalkTalk ISP. I don't want to try anything myself to find history records because it can replace, and I lose everything.

All the tips, how to recover the history? In a few simple steps, please.

Thank you.

History deleted cannot be recovered.

For the future, check the following things to make sure that your story does not get automatically deleted

--> Make sure that you do not use Firefox mode of private - browsing using Firefox without saving history permanent.

  • You enter private browsing mode, if you select: Firefox > Options > privacy > History: Firefox will be: "don't forget the story ever.
  • To view the history settings and cookies, choose: Firefox > Options > privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: use the custom settings for the story of
  • Letter: [x] "remember my browsing history.
  • : Uncheck the [] "always use the private browsing mode.
  • Uncheck the box: [] 'clear history of Firefox closing. "

-> IF you are using-> remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox , select DO NOT download history and navigation

-> IF you use privacy cleaning software, SELECT FIREFOX in ITS SETTINGS.

  • These programs may be responsible for the removal of your Firefox settings.

May not be related to your problem but do the following:

--> Updated Firefox to version 10.0.1

-> Update your Firefox Plugins-> https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

  • During the installation of the Plugins download files hotfix, remove the check mark to download any other software options with your Plugins (for example, toolbars, McAfee, Google Chrome, etc.)

In Firefox 3.6 and later Windows, you can hide the "menu bar" by "view > toolbars" or through the context menu on a toolbar.

Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key to bring up the 'Menu Bar' temporarily.

Go on "view > toolbars" or right-click the 'menu bar', or press Alt + V T to select the toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to switch from the State).

  • Time machine lost history

    Hi all

I have installed a 1 TB SSD in my end of 2008 iMAC.  It's a long process, because I had to do a boot from El Capitan on a USB disk.  Once I installed El Capitan on my new SSD drive, since the boot from USB, I then restored my files from my external 2 TB Time Machine for the SSD.

First tried Time machine to back up the new drive, I had an error that there wasn't enough room on my 2 TB external hard drive to save the 1 TB drive.  Don't search in Time Machine, there is no history of all my previous backups but the player shows only 300 GB of free space.

I'm looking for my old backups.

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click on the menu button , click Help , and then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

If Safe Mode did not help, try clicking on Restore Defaults, as shown - controls customize Firefox, buttons, and toolbars.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem. Thank you!

  • Lost history and all the bookmarks for no reason. Upgrade to firefox 9 but the bookmarks bar does not. Nothing can bookmark and will not backup HTML file import. Need help!

Running Windows XP Professional. Use no. Add ons for Firefox. Don't add any new program.

Thank you! I made a new profile and all imported perfectly. A pleasure! Appreciate the help.

  • After downloading the 23.0.1 version I've lost all the history, but no bookmarks. How can I recover ancient history? Recovery of "import and backup" does not help

My story memorable and kept going back quite a few months. After the release of Firefox for 23.0.1 I lost all my history and Firefox keeps only the websites visited once the new version has been installed. My favorites were selected. I tried to get back in "Import and backup", but it goes back only to the date of the new facility. I tried places.sqlite "Roaming", but there is only one with the current date. Is there a way to recover the lost history? Why Firefox was losing it? It's going to happen averytime that updates Firefox?

Manually back up your bookmarks. If you have used the 'import', you have already lost some information by overwriting. As a matter of course you should always save current bookmarks manually before using any restorations.

This way you can make sure you are able to restore the current set. Your backup .json file put a safe off-trail program or Firefox profile. The desktop of Windows or the removable media would be appropriate.

Firefox creates a bookmark, but does nothing about backup history. Fortunately Windows probably backup previous versions of your files places.sqlite and this is the database with the history and bookmarks in it. See if you can recover a recent version of this, it will restore your story up to the date of the restored file.

Then import your latest bookmarks from anywhere where they were rescued. Import replaces the slightly older bookmarks from the Windows file.

You my wish also can install and run the addon places maintenance.

That can be used to check and repair the places.sqlite database. It will give a brief report. Note If the places.sqlite runs out of space, he begins removing history.

In the future you my wish to regularly create occasional backups of your profile or at least your places.sqlite

So, it looks like you're still infected and at this point, your only

  • How to clear the drop address explore?

    Hello
This issue is unrelated to Internet Explorer or the address toolbar. I've been looking for forums to clear the address bar in Windows Explorer. I tried everything mentioned here, but so far only the address bar in IE8 lost history and I also erased recent programs and locations. A picture is worth a thousand words.

This link shows something blurred. I want this fuzzy thing or historic Explorer to delete address bar. It just seems to grow longer. Can anyone help?

Thank you for taking the time to look into this matter.

No, they are local readers. I have about 3 hard drives and 6 volumes on my pc.

    Try this:
    Open regedit

    then navigate to the

    Code:

    Microsoft HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\

    \Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TypedPaths

After that delete all the paths you want (e.g. url1, url2, etc.).

    pls help me...

Edit: removed personal information for your protection. (philipp)

When you set up synchronization on a new installation and initial synchronization is complete, if there were errors in the process of an error log was created. No error - Sync log have any detectable errors.

The 2nd screenshot seems didn't sync no data at all - the supplied server plug empty files @1 kb.

Have you requested a new password for synchronization when you try to configure the synchronization on this new installation?
If you did, your data was wiped out by the synchronization server. The new password is useless saved data; encryption of your data when it is out of your systems is created from the current password. Change the password and Firefox can not decrypt your data; the server is prepared for a data loading costs to allow the user to use the same email address.

Sorry, but the synchronization was not designed as a backup for the data backup media when formatting a device and reinstall everything. The encryption used by Sync system leaves no room for error. Given to answer many other questions similar to your support, I can only imagine that the account password has been changed before being able to connect to the synchronization service.
When properly used for the synchronization of several peripheral user data would still be on another device, would there be a user error or if other issues arise.

For various reasons, I like to keep my long-term history of navigation. I'm afraid if I download the latest version of this story will be lost. Can anyone help.

Hello Mugwumps, in principle, it should work, but since you're using such a version expired, I don't think that this particular update path is something that has been tested.
just to be safe, I recommend creating a backup of your profile (which contains all personal data, including your history) before continuing with the upgrade: backup and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox

The toolbars are still on display in your browser?

If you still have the address bar, right click on any part that is not a text box or the icon, or if you do not like that of any space right click on the three horizontal lines on the right side of the address bar window. This should show some options, click on 'Menu Bar' and the tabs you are missing should appear.

As a side note, usually if these options are missing, your icon of firefox in the upper left corner of the window should look different (being a rectangular button itself as opposed to an icon), and the 'file', 'Edition', 'Bookmarks', etc., are found after clicking on this button.

    Hope that helps.

  • How to recover lost months stored tabs and groups of picking "never remember history" and lose the "last sitting".

I just lost the previous months of the tabs in 3 groups of tabs by selecting "never remember history.» I was in horror when I opened the browser again and nothing was there. It all works.

Caught around and I created a new profile if new changes be change or overwrite old data so I might be able to recover. It's still in the default profile and I use FF in the newly created.

Please help me to recover the lost tabs and tag groups? Thank you very much. I'm on WinXP so there is no record of recovery, but I saw some things in App Data, tried to copy the entire folder to a profile in there, he had a lot of things but does not. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. But it is doubtful. I have always my favorites and Bookmark Bar. Maybe I copied it on, but the tabs are not coming.

Update, I unchecked 'use closed' option just now and he tried to restart but it became "no answer", but I leave the program tries to stop. But at least its data. Now to restore it without the browser crashing.

  • I updated Firefox and I lost all my favorites and history. Can I get it back?

I updated Firefox, lost my tabs, history, bookmarks and basically all of the parameters. It's as if I had downloaded Firefox for the first time and all records of the previous Firefox were removed. I also get an error message "the bookmarks and history system won't be functional because one of the files of Firefox is used by another application. Some security software can cause this problem. "I have a MacBook with Mac OS X. Also my passwords are all gone and me toolbar Booksmark. Help!

Problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can be caused by a corrupted database places.sqlite file.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

If you use the time Machine, you can try to restore and old copy of the file places.sqlite.
