Lost key - OEM Version

Hello

really confused people and you wonder if you can help?
I have a laptop purchased new with OEM Windows Home Prem installed.
Recently, I did a full format and re - install, to my horror, I discovered that the product key on the bottom of the laptop is torn, faded and only readable part (can provide photo).
I am inclined to believe that the OEM is linked to a motherboard... As light as Microsoft knows who I am, what my motherboard is, can't get married you just the two upward?
It seems strange that Microsoft would not have this information at the click of a button and validate my product as it is without doubt that they hold the two pieces that you can not use OEM on a second card of mother?
I can provide details of the motherboard if a when necessary.

Don't you think that they can sort this mess.
Thank you very much
Kenny

Unfortunately, the recovery that you deleted or partition press the COA were your only options for reinstallation.

Option 1:

If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.

Option 2:

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.

Option 3:

If neither options 1 or 2 is possible, then you will need to invest in a new license of full version of detail.

Contact the technical support http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/homeLenovo.do and request replacement CD-ROM

«To get a product key valid double click on the icon ' Microsoft Office - 60 days Trail "on the Office one followed the instructions on the screen.»

You use this shortcut, you can start Microsoft und request activations of the trial activation wizard.

In the shortcut properties target is C:\Program Files\Activation Wizard for the Microsoft Office 2007 suites\ota.hta

So try to find it in the windows Explorer and start from there. It is HTML application. When you start you can get the script error message but just click YES and continue.

  • OEM version of Windows

I started PC repair services in my area. And especially the client, that they do not have disk to install windows that they have fair windows serial key printed on the CPU or the back of the laptop. Can I use the OEM version of windows to rebuild several computers (of a generator system point of view)?

You just need a classic Installation Vista FULL disc (one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit - each contains all versions of Vista).  You can use these didks to re - install operating systems; However, you must use the product key provided by the customer and only install the same version of Vista they had on their system and which corresponds to its product key!  If they have a Vista upgrade version, you must first install the program original before you can improve it (you can't just install the full product or the key will not activate).  You cannot use the product keys of these two drives on more than one machine at a time - so if the customer lost its product key you will not be able to help them as they will eventually be uable to activate and who will essentially stop the system.  You just can't use an OEM version of the disc (for one thing - it often contains premanente programs and special device drivers you don "t want to be installed and you do not have OEM rights to do as they have agreements with other vendors that include additional software or information).

    I hope this helps.

  • Can I use product key OEM Portege R400 - S4832 to the re-installation of Vista

If I don't have my restore DVD came with my laptop Portege R400-S4832 I use an other users Vista OS DVD to install Vista using the product key that came on the bottom of my Portege?

Otherwise, it's a hassle to ask a Toshiba Recovery DVD?

    Thank you.

Well, what to say to my knowledge it of not possible to activate the other version of Vista with OEM from Toshiba key.
This key is assigned to this OEM version and it should not work with another Vista CD/DVD.

    However, I found this thread another in this forum about Vista installation and activation and the last user potatohead reported that he was able to activate the OEM of Vista version with the phone;

It's very interesting but for me really amazing. In any case, it s worth a try.
If you get more information from Microsoft, please post it here.

You would be really appreciated your comments.

I have a disc of "Window7 Holiday Home Edition". I got it on my laptop. But the broken laptop. Can I put on my laptop, using the "Product Key" that used it on the laptop.

Sorry, but there is no such thing as «Window7 Holiday Home Edition»  This is the ultimate. Home Basic or Home Premium.

He intervenes, it it is preinstalled on your laptop and the laptop died, the license to use, he died with him. It cannot be moved to another computer.

Preloaded is an OEM version and the biggest drawback of an OEM version (at least in the USA) is that its license it permanently binds to the computer first it is installed on. He can never legally be moved to another computer, sold, or given to outside (except with the original computer). If the computer dies or is stolen, your license dies with him.

  • Install an OEM version of WIndows XP Home SP2 on multiple computers, "Dell".

Why is it possible to install an OEM version of Windows XP Home SP2 on multiple computers from Dell and have activated but not saved? Every Dell computer has its own product key sticker, but apparently this key on the sticker does not match the key that is part of the Dell reinstallation CD. I have this key finder utility that displays the same product key from the registry of each computer Dell. And that the key is not the same as the key on the sticker product key of the computer.

Dell (and other important OEM) have the right to use a special type of results to 1) facilitate easy mass on preinstalled systems deployment and 2) allow a user to reinstall Windows without the headaches of activation (including situations where the COA is not more readable, etc.).  This activation includes a generic product key, called a key SLP (System Locked Preinstallation), and because it is generic for the purposes of OEM activation, he 1) does not work when used by itself and 2) does not match the product key on the certificate of authenticity.  The COA is your rights real run/use Windows software.  Occasionally, you may be asked to activate Windows (because of the corruption, hardware replacement, installation media unpaired, etc), in this case, the COA product key will work to activate Windows.  With Vista + your COA product key can be used to activate an installation from the media non - SLP (or "retail"), although telephone activation is usually required.  Although generally, it will install and activate, you are ONLY allowed to install Windows using SLP/OEM media on computers that have an accompanying person and COST of qualification for this OS (or down).

  • New installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on Sony VAIO key OEM

    Hi all

I recently bought a Sony VAIO VPCEB27FA, who is essentially a Middle East of the EB series model. The PC is literally loaded with all sorts of versions possible assessment and bloatware and it absolutely killed any computing experience. Windows 7 starts at more than 3 minutes. Yes, I timed it actually to see how long it takes for Windows load up before you can start actually using my computer. My old gateway desktop which is in reality a P4 and has Windows 7 installed on it opens in less than 45 seconds and is good to go. So I definitely do a clean install on my laptop to clean up all the UNWANTED horrible. But can I use the Windows 7 key on the back of my laptop after a clean install? I go to download the English version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit of Digital River. Currently, my laptop has the same version that is the English version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit as mentioned on this page from Sony

    http://www.Sony-Asia.com/product/vpceb27fa

    Thank you

PS: - You can see for yourself on the page of Sony in the specifications of the software INCLUDED, how trialware and bloatware been installed by Sony on this machine. I hate Sony for this and I will never buy a VAIO again in my life.

There is no need to separately download OEM or retail of Windows 7 RTM installation DVD ISO, as the release of Windows 7 installation can be easily converted using simply the correct product key (for example OEM_SLP product key can convert an installation of Windows 7 at retail in OEM version), as issued by the OEM product keys has a different basis of the retail product key. For ISO of DVD images, the only difference between a Windows 7 RTM retail ISO and ISO of OEM of Windows 7 RTM is in position of EI.cfg file [channel], which specifies the sales channel to retail or OEM.

There is no technical restriction that prevents you from using it, but it is not intended for consumers.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

OEM licenses must be installed by professional system manufacturers. Under Microsoft's OEM license agreement, they should not be sold to end-users under any circumstances, must be preinstalled on a computer using the preinstallation OEM (OPK) before delivery to the customer and include to the at least the manufacturer contact information. They are, therefore, designed for installation only on a single computer and are not transferable, even if the original computer is no longer in use. This isn't usually a problem for users who buy a new computer, because systems that most pre-assembled systems ship with a preinstalled operating system. There are very few circumstances where Microsoft will allow the transfer of licensed OEM for a non-functional system to another, but the OEM System Builder License Agreement (SBLA), as well as the EULA (EULA) OEM contract don't contain any provision for this, it is entirely at the discretion of Microsoft, depending on the situation

There are two types of OEM suppliers. Royalty OEM vendors can distribute Windows products by using the preinstallation (SLP) product keys so that end users can bypass product activations. All other OEM vendors distribute Windows products by using the standard product keys that require the user to activate Windows products.

    Hello

As I wrote, my computer recognized new window 7 ultimate retail.

    Is this possible?

    This means OEM?

and I tried to download windows 7 to make it bootable USB, but it has an error that this key is pre-installed key. So I need to contact the manufacturer. But my computer is assembled by myself.

    How is that possible?

    Someone had the same problem?

    Thank you.

Looks like you might have bought an OEM System Builder License.

Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.

  • Question about the OEM version and it is allowed.

    Original title: win7 oem

I bought computers from our provider of professional it services installed win7 and win8.1. While they inspected the CD cover license, the license is OEM version. I asked our computer service provider and he said if we buy a computer that comes pre-installed with a BONE, it's not serious. Please confirm what I already paid for the license keys.

You can legally use a PC with a pre-installed Windows in any environment version: Office, home, football club, anywhere.

If I understand correctly, the OEM licenses are sold to manufacturers to use for a large number of PC. They are not transferable. If your computers are transferable OEM licenses whereas they are probably pirated. After a while, they are likely to become invalid.

  • Is it possible to download an OEM version of win 7 home?

Here's the bottom line. The system not supplied with recovery CD or a partition recovery and user (my cousin) did not even though the system itself. Windows should now be reinstalled (virus) but I can't find an OEM version that will work with the key on the COA sticker on the system from a trustworthy source. I know experiences from the past that some version will not accept the OEM on the COA key and I am looking for one that will. I have already contacted the manufacturer and they have / provide no CD of restoration for this model.

    Thank you for your time.

Commercial version will work with your OEM product key
