lost my 2 copies of Windows 7 Pro SP1

I lost my 2 copies of Windows 7 Pro SP1! Is there a way I can get a replacement copy?  I still have the product key codes!

OT:

Windows 7 Pro SP1

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Windows 7 pro sp1 - stop only when the key

    Hello

I have to hold the stop button to shut down my computer in windows 7 Pro sp1 can anyone help.

also when it goes into sleep or hiberate I can't touch just a button to restore the screen, I have to hold the power button / stop and restart.\\thanks

The computer shuts down correctly if you use the option on the screen (Start menu > power option)?

In general, this type of behavior that you see means that you are missing a driver for your computer.  You can fortunately usually just go to the Web site of the manufacturer of your computer, under their support section and find your model number and re - download driver needed.  It will be labeled as a chipset driver or driver ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface).  This is the driver that allows the computer functions related to power as a 'safe shutdown' when you press the switch for example.

  • Windows 7 Pro Sp1 is no longer the validation

My genuine copy of Windows 7 Pro Sp1 is no longer valid.  Apparently, I have "24 days to activate.

I have my product key (see below)

Basically, I had to wipe my SSD and reinstall my Windows 7 thanks to my new drivers to Saitek X 52 pro almost gives me a heart attack.  This is a known issue and my lack of knowledge between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 was the cause.

Fortunately communities that I belong are most excellent help to these questions, I found this and it fixed everything
    https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/1vdrnq/having_trouble_installing_a_saitek_x52_hotas/

all this is very well now.  I blame the fact that I took deliberate measures, backup my system several times, before I did this and now no worries.

but now, after the validation when I reinstalled first Win7, my product key no longer works, and he asks me to re-do.

I could really use some help.

  • HP support assistant - will launch or uninstall properly - Windows 7 Pro SP1

RE: Cannot run, HP Support Assistant can not even uninstall properly.

Have my office since 2010.  HP Support Assistant has still works perfectly.  Now when I try to run HP Support Assistant, it does not start, returning the message "an unhandled exception ('System.TypeInitializationException') occurred in HPSF.exe [6264].»

In response, I downloaded the latest version of HP Support Assistant HP website and tried to install it.  There was a problem and he asked me if I wanted to try an install using recommended settings.  I said yes, but no completion message was never presented.

Thus, by the HP troubleshooting suggestions I tried to uninstall HP Support Assistant using the dialog box uninstall Windows standard.  But, also, the operation failed with the message "Error 1316 network error occurred trying to read from C:\Windows\Installer\HP support Assistant.msi".

I tried again to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant, but once the installation wizard has started the only message he introduced the question of if I wanted to replace the existing files.  I said yes, the wizard appeared to move forward, but no completion message was never presented.

Another attempt with the dialog box uninstall Windows failed once again with the same error 1316 as before.

    So I'm puzzled.  Suggestions?

"friends, I have a new installation of windows 7 pro 64 sp 1 who came (oem retail price, newegg) in a sheet of cardboard with the product key in a small gray tag that resembled all intents and purposes be paper that you would remove with the tip of a nail... not quite as easy to do, and some damage was done to the registration... the key is printed in a space less of 5/8" x 1/4 "and I need a magnifying glass 5 x to see at all... I tried to activate with what I see, which is the biggest part of it, as well as what some letters/numbers might be in place.  I had no luck at all... my old version of windows 7 came in a nice box in protective plastic with key printed on the "regular/old" security Strip and was easily readable... This copy came in a slip box no lining or anything to protect the disk... and now, all the info is on a small sticker barely readable with no instructions on how to remove the cover of this book on the product key... anyone has the info on what to do in this case... I've seen comments with other people complaining of the same issue... any help would be greatly appreciated... Thank you

  • Windows 7 Pro SP1 32 x 64 English DSP Med

    Hello.

We bought DSP ANG of Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 32/64-bit SP1. It says in the description of the included media seller. But when we arrived the envelope today he understood only a piece of paper with the code in this topic. We also bought new computer with her. So how are we supouse to install windows 7 on it when there is nothing on it yet and no dvd came with envelope?

It's my advice on what to do after installing Windows 7.

1 a useful step to take when you installed Windows 7 is to create two alternative accounts protected by password Admin-level.

    • [No matter what account can suffer from corruption of the profiles user and if it's your main account and you have no spare Admin account to access the system, then you have a serious problem that we are not even allowed to advise you in this forum other than to suggest a complete reinstall of Windows 7].
    • If you have these two alternative accounts then, because they are rarely used, they are less likely to suffer from the corruption that is in use.
    • So even if you have problems in your account you can then log in as one of them and solve the problem.
    • You must write the passwords and ensure the safety of the sheet of paper.  You could do 'Password' reset disks instead, but they are not more effective than a piece of paper and they will also have to be stored somewhere in the place safe.

2 see where to find the hardware drivers if you find one of your hardware does not work correctly.

3 Once you get these things sorted, then you want to probably ensure that you get a Windows 10 forced update before you're ready - see disable Windows 10 improvement and ignore someone who starts to tell disable you updates specific Windows or turn off Windows update itself because it's all nonsense.

4 it can be great benefits to have your OS disk separate from your data disc.  If you have only one hard drive so it can be partitioned to change his behaviour as two separate disks.  Because you specified the new computer, I guess that you are already familiar with this topic.  If this isn't the case, then I can explain more about this.

5 that you might not be used to which makes "system image" is to do as soon as you have a system deserves to be preserved.

    • You can make an image of the system in less than half an hour.
    • You can restore an image system in less than half an hour and thus replace problems based on software, including problems of drivers, who have appeared on your computer.  It is, for me, the great advantage of the system images - if my not correct initial fault get anywhere or if I can not even know where to start with any symptom of weird failure which appeared I can be up and running again until I finished my tea pot.
    • Search for create a system image using Windows to get an introduction to & use,
    • Then go into Control Panel, [view by - small icons, if necessary], Backup & Restore for the link on the left side to create a system image to run the utility.
    • Note that you should not make the system repair disc which will find references to your Windows 7 installation disc can do what a system repair disc can [etc.].
    • Target the most convenient & reliable to record images of system on is an external hard drive.  An image of the system does not have the external hard drive to any target, so it can also be used for other purposes such as the storage of your current file backups.
    • Rewritable DVD is not as reliable and you need several whenever you made a new image.
    • Third utilities to make system images can be better that the built-in Windows utility I use Acronis TI which has a very good reputation *.  Macrium Reflect free edition also has a good reputation.  But you can start with the built-in utility if you want and then you worry about the alternatives later.    [* If you have a WD or Maxtor-Seagate-Samsung HDD in or connected to your computer, you can use a free version of functionality reduced to Acronis TI 2015]  I find it perfectly satisfactory.]

    All the best,

    Denis

  • HP Envy 23: How can I install Windows 7 Pro Windows 8.1 pre-installed slim like 23?

Hello... I HATE 8.1... but I saw your list of wonderful driver for your laptop and I was wondering if it is similar to a HP desktop computer when removing windows 8.1.   I already asked HP for help, but they, unfortunately, are "unable" to tell me that I can even load Windows 7 23 want.  People very nice, but very limited information.

I managed to find 2 new copies of Windows 7 Pro, more a have on hand software... obviously, until Windows has the world dislikes phone applications on a computer, we need backup copies!

My brand new mess is a HP Envy 23 I just bought last Sunday and hates carefully.

I got the USB backup, just in case, but to wipe the drive (if I can) and change the boot order (if I have will be tolerated), and of course, eliminating all additional platforms I could find if this is possible)... What do I need to save the facility from 8.1 to make bits andpieces and love its color and whatever work?

And what on Earth is UEFI?

Thanks in advance... I know that this forum is a labor of love.

Try to downgrade your system would probably void your warranty and a challenge trying to find drivers that would work with Windows 7, a real headache.

If you want to go this route, you need to disable secure boot and enable legacy in order to change the boot order.

It may be easier to keep what you have and make it Windows 8 look like Windows 7

  • Install Windows 7 Pro the Dell laptop w / OEM Windows 7 Home Premium

I have a bit of a MESS! Bought a Dell Latitude Laptop online, which was supposed to have Windows 7 Pro.  When receipt he did 7 Home Premium. Found I had problems with some XP programs running and finished by the seller to send me a genuine disc "Réinstallation DVD Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit," Dell and a key COST and product.  My concern - since they are BOTH the OEM versions of the operating system and a new drive a "Reinstall" rather than an "upgrade" - is that going to reformat my hard drive and destroy all my drivers and the factory pre-installed programs?  Dell installs a number of vital programs to run the webcam, diagnostics, audio, secure data backup, etc., and all necessary hardware drivers, but they do not send copies of disc.  How to backup all this?  And then, everything I need to copy from the system to be able to reinstall the programs?  Seems an almost impossible process... A drive to "Reinstall" OEM gives you an option to simply replace the operating system and everything still leave it alone?  I certainly don't want to start without knowing what I am getting into.

    Would appreciate certainly no help...

    Nancy

Thanks for your quick response. I'm a little nervous because of all the issues that I had with this laptop - then just one last question for confirmation - if I buy a key to upgrade to 7 Pro AND use the Express Upgrade Wizard, it WILL NOT reformat my hard drive?

That's right, see how it works:

    That is right.

The machine worked fine for 7 months before the hard drive crashed and I had to replace it. (Without recovery).

On installation the same Windows 8 Pro on the new HARD drive again, it shows " this key did not work." "If please check and try again or try a different key"

Please suggest a solution to this problem.

If my copy of Windows would have been an upgrade version, it would not have worked the first time.

    Have you bought a copy of manufacturer of OEM of Windows 8 Pro system? Because there was no full version boxes retail copies of Windows 8 Pro. The following work around to try to see if it works with your copy and then try the phone activation;

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/13375-clean-install-Windows-8-upgrade.html

    Activation of the phone:

    1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. then press the ENTER"" key.

    3. Select your "country" in the list.

    4. choose the option "activate phone".

    5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.
