HP support assistant - will launch or uninstall properly - Windows 7 Pro SP1

RE: Cannot run, HP Support Assistant can not even uninstall properly.

Have my office since 2010.  HP Support Assistant has still works perfectly.  Now when I try to run HP Support Assistant, it does not start, returning the message "an unhandled exception ('System.TypeInitializationException') occurred in HPSF.exe [6264].»

In response, I downloaded the latest version of HP Support Assistant HP website and tried to install it.  There was a problem and he asked me if I wanted to try an install using recommended settings.  I said yes, but no completion message was never presented.

Thus, by the HP troubleshooting suggestions I tried to uninstall HP Support Assistant using the dialog box uninstall Windows standard.  But, also, the operation failed with the message "Error 1316 network error occurred trying to read from C:\Windows\Installer\HP support Assistant.msi".

I tried again to install the latest version of HP Support Assistant, but once the installation wizard has started the only message he introduced the question of if I wanted to replace the existing files.  I said yes, the wizard appeared to move forward, but no completion message was never presented.

Another attempt with the dialog box uninstall Windows failed once again with the same error 1316 as before.

So I'm puzzled.  Suggestions?

My PC: Desktop, model HP Pavilion HPE-170 t

OS: Windows 7 Pro, SP 1, 64 - bit

The HP Web "Boot errors resolve the MSI" page (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00811375 ), I found a link to a Microsoft Web page: "The problems that the programs cannot be installed or uninstalled" (http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall?).  This Web page has a "Program install and Uninstall Troubleshooting" utility which worked like a champ to effectively solve the problems with the existing, corrupted application and uninstall it.

I am out of the Woods and happy now.

    Hello

    Try the following

Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant using Microsoft 'Fixit' at the following link: this is particularly useful for correcting problems that may prevent resettlement on the machines running a 64 bit OS.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

When this has completed, restart the computer.

Then download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant of the page on the link below - the download links are to the bottom of the page.

  • HP Support Assistant will not download updates to date, or all the 'health check '.

Recently, I noticed that my HP Support Assistant continued to inform me of new updates available. In addition, every time I try and do a manual check for updates through the app, the 'health check' will fail. I have a HP Envy 14, edition Audio Beats. The model number is XG981UA #ABC.

In addition, I do not know if that changes anything but the most recent update, I downloaded was the most recent version of the ATI Catalyst Control Center (I need the drivers for Battlefield 3).

Anyone know of a possible solution for the Support Assistant software?

    Version: 8.3.27.17

    • Scan your system
    • Preparation of the list of actions

Any suggestions on arises at work?

The steps I've tried: uninstallation with Revouninstaller, resettlement, reset

    @troubleshoot411, welcome to the forum.

I agree with using Revo.  This is my go to app for malware.  When you used Revo, you use the advanced option?  This will not only remove the program from the HARD disk, but it removes remnants of the BIOS.  If this is not the case, this could be the problem.  I suggest to try the advanced option to remove HPSA and shut down the computer.  Then, start and reinstall HPSA here.

  • Want H8 PC: last version of hp support assistant will not work

I used HP support assistant, version 7.7.34.34. I checked to see if there was a newer version and there was. I downloaded it. Everything seemed to go well in the installation, even if slowly. When everything was done, I clicked on the new icon and nothing happened. I restarted the computer and still once clicked on the icon for HP support and once again the program does not start. I went to the file in program files and clicked on the .exe file... same result. Then I uninstalled the new version and recharged the old version and it works perfectly.

I am running windows 8.1 64 bit, HP Envy H8 PC.  I have another computer HP Envy in my office space, and it updated perfectly.

    Any ideas?

uninstalled old version, systemroot, downloaded the new version...

    and it worked this time!

not sure what was different, but thank you and it's good to have an updated version.

  • HP Support Assistant will not be installed. System does not meet the minimum requirements.

I installed my system from Vista to Windows 7 Premium. I have a HP Pavilion Elite m9177c PC. After that I have the latest version of the HP Support Assistant download and run it. It stops at half way through and comes up with a message "your system does not meet the minimum requirements. Does anyone know what are the minimum requirements? If this is not the case, is there a version that will run on my system and also with the Windows 7 Premium?

I am happy that it worked.

    It is an older version.

  • How to get hp support assistant to install and works on windows 7

I am trying to install hp support assistant on my hp pavilion dv5178us laptop running windows 7 32-bit, after I downloaded the windows version 7 of it from hp site, it installs, but during the installation, I get an error message saying login average with administrator rights before you install HP Support Assistant. I am the only user of the pc and I use the administrator account, so I want to know what's the problem here; I really need to get the wizard of support at work because my pc has many outdated drivers.

I was getting the newspaper even with administrator rights after having downloaded the file Wizard help SP54620 to install on my Mini-210. I had major problems after an automatic update Windows 7 a few days ago and I got uniinstalled Support Assistant and was going to reinstall to correct one of the many problems after the update from Windows 7. I found this file was already on my C: drive in the SwSetup folder. This file is the program HP set up files for the programs of HP that is installed at the factory. I opened the file SP5460 which was SwSetup folder, and click on the setup.exe file and got the same message from the administrator. I then noticed a msiinstaller.exe in the SP5460 folder and open that and installed the HP Support Assistant.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910 will not scan to folder - Windows 8 Pro

I upgraded my HP M9500Y PC from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro.

My printer is HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910.  In Windows 7, all the functions of print/scan/fax worked perfectly.

Windows 8, printing without problem, however, analysis of the file function fails.

When a document is scanned, the printer seems to be analysis correctly, but the destination folder contains a file of length zero with the new file name.  I tried the formats PDF and JPEG scans.  All attempts to produce files of length zero in the destination folder.

I tried to change the path of the destination folder by replacing the address IP for the name of the PC, but that made no difference.  The destination folder is shared correctly on the Windows network and the configuration utility based on the web of HP for the digitization of records indicates that all tests have passed.

What is the sequence of installation for Windows 8 will accept scan-to-folder operations.
