  I work at a pawn shop, and we had recently a computer gateway windows 8 out to be offered for sale. We have a problem clean because it is registered under the lady who pawned it with us, and she is not going to give us the administrator password.  Should be wiped the computer to make sure that nobody gets their personal information when it is sold.

  I tried a command prompt after adding a new account, but it will not allow me access because I can not do as an administrator.  before ask you, no we have no reset disks or password reset disks.  I was wondering if there is something we can do to get into the Administrator profile, or how to reset it with out being in the admin profile (whenever I try to do whatever it is he's asking administrator password).   Thank you very much.

  I read here everything about starting mode safe mode with the command prompt, but it constantly load files and starts windows and goes to my screen asking for a password. Here's how I do it

  I restart the computer

  hit the f8 key I TOUCH scrool down to safe mode with command prompt

  It loads the files and starts just windows

  You can use the Safe Mode Administrator account only under certain circumstances without password. If this does not work for you, then you do this:

  1. Use your system repair CD to start the machine in Repair Mode.
  2. Use system restore to set the machine to a point when the password is remembered worked.
  3. Plan ahead a little and create, test, and document an alternative admin account, even though you have a spare House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
