Lost windows 7 for 10, want to return but without disks

I got windows 7, and it worked fine. I decided to go to 10 since he kept invite me and I thought they knew better. Well, it seemed to work fine, but now some of my games keep crashing. I tried to update the graphics drivers (he said I was the best fit for my pc) and when I got drivers from intel, it says that my computer could not handle ONE of them. I wanted to restore to 7, but I lost it. I have no discs either. Windows can not just give me a free download of 7? I mean, if 10 is free, can not be free to go back? Any tips?

A modern way to recover an operating system is to Backup of System Image you should have then you can go back in 20 minutes.

If within 30 days Windows 10 Upgrade has a less stable roll back function: How to uninstall Windows 10 and return to Windows 7 or 8. PCWorld

Without any of them, you need to clean reinstall Windows 7.

But since obtaining media can be a problem as explained in step 1 from the link above, what I would do is the vastly superior Clean install Windows 10 Upgrade which avoids any problems with the upgrade if you stick closely with the procedure described in the link.

I'll be happy to help you all you need to get the same install of Windows perfect 10, which I was enjoying more than a year.  Just read the link, ask back questions and let us know that you will.

Run a full scan of CHKDSK and SFC...

Click Start > all programs > Accessories

Right-click on the entry of the command line

Select run as administrator and accept the UAC - elevated command prompt window prompt should appear.

    At the command prompt, type

    CHKDSK C: /R

    and press the Enter key.

We'll tell you that the disc is locked,

and the CHKDSK will run the next time he started - press Y, press ENTER, and then restart.

The CHKDSK command will take a few hours depending on the size of the disk, so be patient!

Once executed, the command CHKDSK Windows should start normally (possibly after a second auto).

    Then, run the SFC.

  • TouchSmart IQ500: Want to reformat but recovery disks don't work

I'm trying to reformat the hard drive of this computer. I made a set of recovery discs and want to wipe the drive and reinstall, but I can't boot from these DVDs. Windows checked their after that I burned them, but they just turn.  I can reset it to the factory using the D drive recovery partion but I want run dban then restore to factory settings.

I tried other discs, as a Windows Vista Ultimate, and big boots, so the drive is not the problem, the discs are.  Any thoughts on how to get out of this pickle would be apprecaited.

Thank you @Erico. My problem is if I switch the computer to someone else, and their car breaks down, they have no way to return to the factory. The drive is more than five years, and it happen sooner than later. Not to labour the point, but the recovery media started on my MacPro. Is there a reason, you think that it doesn't initialize the TouchSmart, or is the HPs just tempermental?

Second, if I have to live with a factory reset, which will be more wiping of free space, clear enough my old data system?

    In addition, appreciate any thoughts.

A factory reset, which removes the partitions and then create fresh OEM partitions, should suffice.

If you still have doubts, then replace the drive by another and take a hammer to the original. It is the approved military method of removal of data from a hard drive.

Once the trays are broken, no one can recreate the data.

Each person has a different level of paranoia.

BTW, simply because the recovery started on the MacPro does not mean he'll run there.

A HP Recovery Manager inspects the hardware in the computer to verify that it meets HP criteria for the particular platform, it was designed for before his execution. It is by design.

  • I want to return the computer to factory settings.

    HP Pavilion DM4, Windows 7

I want to return the laptop to its factory settings. The problem is that I don't remember if it came with Microsoft Office installed. It is the only program that I use all the time. I have not installed anything other than Mozilla Firefox and the antivirus, of course.

It is extremely slow, twice I had the blue screen, I couldn't get the details, reboot it took care of that.

I'm not good at this, I don't want to get into something, I can't handle.

    Hello

Please check the bottom of your machine, it must have a label/sticker that displays Microsoft product (even if you can't all read). If so, there is a sticker, please continue:

Except if you have deleted the recovery partition on your machine, your machine must have a recovery partition. Make sure all your backup files before you restore the PC/laptop to the factory settings.

To set your PC/laptop to the factory settings, restart the PC/laptop. At HP Home screen hit F11 repeatly has reached (or the ESC key on some machines) to start the recovery process. Follow the instructions on the screen.

    Kind regards.

  • I want to convert windows 7 for xp professional can someone help me?

I want to convert windows 7 for xp professional can someone help me?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

Unfortunately, you can not convert Windows 7 to Windows XP. You will need to perform a new installation of Windows XP (for example formatting partition of Windows 7 and then installing Windows XP).

Try the Windows XP Mode, which requires Windows 7 Professional or ultimate or business (32-bit or 64-bit, both are supported) where a copy of Windows XP must be installed through Windows Virtual PC. You can install and access the applications in Windows XP Mode.

Note that the support (currently extended support, support mainline has been terminated already) for Windows XP will end soon.
