I want to return the computer to factory settings.

HP Pavilion DM4, Windows 7

I want to return the laptop to its factory settings. The problem is that I don't remember if it came with Microsoft Office installed. It is the only program that I use all the time. I have not installed anything other than Mozilla Firefox and the antivirus, of course.

It is extremely slow, twice I had the blue screen, I couldn't get the details, reboot it took care of that.

I'm not good at this, I don't want to get into something, I can't handle.

Hello

Please check the bottom of your machine, it must have a label/sticker that displays Microsoft product (even if you can't all read). If so, there is a sticker, please continue:

Except if you have deleted the recovery partition on your machine, your machine must have a recovery partition. Make sure all your backup files before you restore the PC/laptop to the factory settings.

To set your PC/laptop to the factory settings, restart the PC/laptop. At HP Home screen hit F11 repeatly has reached (or the ESC key on some machines) to start the recovery process. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Kind regards.

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • The intention to restore the computer to factory settings. How can I get Win10 again?

I have an emachine at less than ten years now. Originally it had installed Win7 on it and last year I got the free update of Win10. No problem downloading or installation, have no problem with it, but this poor old clunky machine is to his last breath. I want to do a "restore to factory settings. I know it will destroy everything, and I guess he'll reinstall Win7, after which I would download and re - install Win10 just like I did before.

    Can I do this?

Should I have my registration key of Win10?

Where would he get this information?

Win10 is still available as a free download/install as if it were last year?

I don't want to restore on Win7 to see that now I have to buy the Win10 I'm currently using for free, I want to know ahead what to expect and what will be expected of me until I push the button.

Yes, I know, I need a new computer, but it is not the budget for it right now. It's why I can't really afford to buy Win10 if I don't have one.

    Thank you

    JaeMmb

    Yes, you can.

Format your system and install Windows 7 and turn it on.

After coming to start windows update and when your windows 7 updated, it will automatically give you 10 free update Windows.

But the upgrade of your system before July 29, 2016 because after that, you will only get the free update.

  • How to return the computer to factory conditions

I'm really having a very hard time with this.  I tried to restore my computer to factory to get rid of windows 8 etc.  I've erased everything, or so I thought.  Windows 8 is still on it.  I have discs I need etc to back to factory.  But I can't figure out how to get the discs to run.  I went to my control panel for the recovery and said everything I looked for me to choose methods of recovery in advance.  Although in my control panel that the option is not there.  So I'm still stuck on what to do.  I want to go back to the factory and start but nothing I try does not work.  I worked on it for 2 weeks and I am ready to throw this whole computer.

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall vista

    See what applies to you

the sequence of keys varies according to the manufacturer

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • How to recover my computer to factory settings? How to buy recovery discs and which ones?

I recently bought a used computer on craigslist.  It's a HP Pavilion a6700f.  He came originally with Vista, but the previous owner installed Windows 7 32 on it.  I want to put it back to factory settings, but I can't seem to do it without the recovery disks, which I did not.  I have tried F11 at startup, but the system recovery won't be open in this way for a reason any.  I tried to buy HP recovery disks, but they only for Windows Vista 64-bit.  I'm not sure if my computer came with Vista 64 bit or -34, although she has 34 bit Windows 7 right now.  How can I recover the computer to factory settings?  Can I buy the Vista 64-bit recovery discs and use them?  Will they work?  Thank you.

    Hello

The command system will work for you given that provide you the product id of your machine. Please use the following link, it should tell you that the original operating system:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bph07143

    Good luck.

ps. Based on the following link, its original operating system was:

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium with Windows Media Center with Vista Service Pack 1 (64-bit)

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&TaskID=120&prodSeriesId=3823602&prodTypeId=12454&ObjectID=c01612528

Therefore, it should work with 64 bit.

  • Error recovery from computer to factory settings

original title: installing Windows vista error has occurred

Okay, Im already on the process to restore my laptop to its factory settings, unfortunately there was an error. "Before the error, there was a blue screen saying" Please wait while windows continues to set up your computer "then error (too fast for me to read).

"It restarts (notebook) then there was an error saying once again" the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows Setup cannot continue. To install windows click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.

The problem is that I keep hitting ok, but Ive done the same thing (press OK) all over again.  any suggestions how to solve this problem? Thank you

If you use recovery or a partition of the manufacturer's recovery disks to restore the computer to factory settings, you must contact the manufacturer of this problem because the recovery process is their process - not Microsoft.  We have enough information to help you.  Each manufacturer is different.  We don't even know the manufacturer here.

I'm sorry, we can not be more help, but you must deal with the manufacturer about this.
