I was in windows 7, then I upgraded to windows 8 and now want to recover but I didn't recovory files, so I bought recovery CD the instructions say to put the drive to turn the computer off and then back under the crib of recovery appears and you follow the instructions. But he does nothing and continues to the normal windows startup screen 8.

This includes the W2K running on the same computer systems that are capable of serving the same files that fail on Windows XP Home edition, with no problems. Any of those articles gives no justification for what is an appropriate use for the IRPStackSize value. Moreover, some articles describe a situation where arbitrarily increase the size works for a short period, but does not seem to be a sustainable solution. In addition, there is a range of valid values, and some articles describe that max is achieved without solving the problem.

Therefore, I am skeptical about the idea that there is a real solution. Can anyone provide an explanation on why specifying a key IRPStackSize is going to help (or not)? If Yes, what is the right value?

The question of compatibility you're talking about is one where many flash drives are seen as a local instead of removable storage disk - and HP Recovery Manager wouldn't use it to create a recovery media. Last week the server crashed down, due to problems of phisycal on hard drives, and we could not get it to the top. Then restore the databases from scratch since the backup tapes that we have.
We had the RMAN catalog on the same server database... so we lost too much and we can't use ir to restore.
We cannot use the dbid because we don't know them and we cannot see them on the server.
In order to obtain the control files of the backup, another way to restore of databases, we reviewed documentation and it says it takes to use the name of the control file. The control file name problem is the same in all databases, so RMAN always return the last database saved file.
Perhaps the first thing to do is to restore the database with RMAN, but I don't ' know if it is possible in this situation.
