• 12 iTunes does not import files

  Many have had this problem, all have been resolved (apparently) allowed the format conversion with something of an iTunes or install Quicktime as autonomous, but not me.

  • iTunes 12.1.3.6 64-bit
  • QuickTime 7.7.6

  I have a huge selection of files (mp4 and m4v) video all converted iTunes yet formats over the years of hard work. All worked perfectly (as long as home sharing is not screwing around). I bought new hardware for my main computer so moved my old kit to my server to take over the functions of iTunes. As this is a "new" computer I went straight to import my old HDD to the new NAS (all the permissions granted at a time) from the iTunes library base.

  iTunes has simply nothing. I then tried to import files in various ways at different locations (local shared folder, NAS), and by various techniques (drag / move, import file, import file, open with, add automatically) none of them got the files in iTunes. "Automatically add" gave the strangest response however. I created the "not added" like there was something wrong.

  Three things, I can guarantee you:

  1. Files have been acceptable for the last 5 years in iTunes and are played regularly through the AppleTV, so no conversion is necessary at all.
  2. It's not a permissions issue, as even the local file was not imported.
  3. I can't go to 12.3.1 he simply refuses to start at all.
  4. This box is a new facility with nothing else installed except the above.

  I would like to try an older version of iTunes to see if I could get that back to normal, but I am unable to find a previous releases section (could be me).

  I went to download my photos from my iphone to my macbook and I continue to make 'unreadable file' and ' database error: could not persist version. I download my photos several times in the past and a few weeks ago, I have download some pictures before I updated my mac to the latest version of the software. No idea how to fix this error? I am able to put the photos on my computer very well and in a snippet view, but will not import into mac photos.   LR does not yet support the Olympus PEN - f: supported by Adobe Camera Raw devices.  The support can be added in the next version (versions leave roughly every quarter), but we cannot suddenly sure until version comes out.

  I suggest you to please rename Lightroom 5 Preferences.agprefs to Lightroom 5 Preferences.agprefsold

  This could happen if the photos are already in your Lightroom Catalog and you try to duplicate them.

  I have a Sony RX100 and 5.7 LR matter files ARW ok, however I just bought an A7 Mk2 and Lightroom will not import this camera ARW files. I downloaded CameraRaw 8 so I can convert the files first and then import into LR, but it seems strange that I can't import and convert from LR itself from the inside.

  I just upgraded to LR 5 and when I import files for a just Fuji X100S it hangs and crashes. I must kill LR and restart. Files for my canon 5 d mkii are no problem, easily import. Y at - it a patch or an update, I'm missing? I have version 5.3

  X100s imports just fine for me.

  I wonder if it's something to do with the card? Is the lock on?

  I XdcamEx my client files. When I try to load in first pro cc 7.2 it loads up to 90% and then says file not supported or codec. I have 120 files and they are all on my external hard drive. I'm on Windows 8. My first is activated and the files have the extension mp4. What Im doing wrong?

  Oh joe,.

  Welcome to the forums.

  Import the files up to 90% means that there may be one or two files that are not import correctly or have problems. Please check the whole clip folder and make sure the files have the same extension MP4 or all the files in this folder have different extensions. If possible, use media browser to locate the filea and import. If you have tried Media Browser, then go to file > import and try to import the files one by one.

• Windows Mail will not import files from old account OE DBX, all patches?

  Hi, I looked at other issues here but they don't seem to work as I have more access to OE.

  Basically, the computer crashed and OE does not open. No problems with the e-mail address that I opened Outlook and organized the emails to come by here.

  However, having identified the OE store folder (now saved on the desktop), I can't raise the old emails.

  Tried to import via Outlook in a different folder, however no joy because it only allows me to select the folder.

  Tried to import in Thunderbird - no joy.

  Found that Windows Live Mail allows you to import the DBX and had little joy with it, but not much. WLM import only new emails that had not been read could be read. Tried to make individual DBX files and each of them at the same time, but do not show them.

  When WLM downloads the file it indicates how many e-mail are in there, (258 sent items) but never present themselves.

  Any suggestions please?

  Most of the problems with OE not starting not not are due to corruption of (hidden) folders.dbx.  Try to delete this (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#7) and then see if OE will start.  If this isn't the case, then move all the message store dbx files and then must start OK.  Then you can try to use file | Import | Messages, point to the directory to which you moved your dbx files, but if folders.dbx is corrupt they won't import.  Yes, you can try the method described here: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#imp1 to manually import dbx files into OE.  Then you can get them in Outlook or WLM after having done this.  If dbx files will not even import, you can extract what content they maintain with my DBXpress program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/).

  This problem is a problem with the permissions on the destination folder. You must ensure that the file includes both read and write permissions. If you do not know how to handle this, do a web search for something like, 'permissions of files and folder Mac"and you should find lots of information about how to change the setting.

• 1 of about 30 directories with JPEGs would not import into LR 5.7.  Operating system is Windows 10.  How can I import the missing directory?  I tried to import more precisely, but I get an error message on the format of the pix.

  You can combine catalogs by opening the 'master' catalogue (the one that you want to contain ALL your photos) and then using the command file-> import from another catalogue and pointing to the catalog on the other.   Could Oliver, you not just to convert a Raw file and then compare the Exif data found in Raw format and that in the conversion, the use of an Exif reader like Exiftool?

  Note also that there is a difference between Exif is not copied and Exif do not read. LR certainly ignore - does not apply - some Exif. but it is still in the files.
