  Hi all

  I am under Lightroom 2.6 and I wonder if there is any way to import based on the rating stars?

  I use another program (photomechanical) quickly review my pictures, choose my selects and change my IPTC data when I'm shooting at an event and I can use the system of star ratings in this program to mark my select photos and votes will actually carry over to LR2.  However, what I was wondering is, is it possible to have LR2 import these files nominal stars?  Say that I rate all my selects as a 1 star.  Is it possible to have LR2 import only nominal images stars 1 instead of all images in the folder of files?  I know that I can sort once they have been imported, but I'm trying to reduce the time of importation.  I tell myself why import if I don't need to import them.  :-)

  Any help or ideas on how to do this would be appreciated.  :-)

• How can I eliminate the websites stored in the window bar 'about: home' with the yellow star at the end of the right hand. I don't want this meemory store.

  Absolutely, as a Director on a Mac can open a .dir performed on a Windows computer. When you say "dcr file" I guess that is to be hosted in a browser page and read by the Shockwave plugin.

• How to keep the rating stars between catalogs?

  I'm sure that this has been addressed, but can't seem to find it. My question is simple: I have evaluated the images of guardian in a catalog, and I want to bring in another catalog with these intact star ratings. I saved the metadata in the file, and I "xmp writing to the file" checked. I'm dealing with RAW and JPEG, LR OSX 10.7.5 4.2 what is the solution?

  The simplest solution is to use a single catalog for all your photos. Then there is no problem now or in the future, to ensure that the two catalogs have the same significance of the notes (and many other benefits as well).

  But if you must have multiple catalogs, you can transfer the sides to start like this: select the photos you want in a catalog, then the file-> export of catalog, then go to the catalog and the files 2nd-> import from catalog. This ensures that the meaning of the notes correspond to the time where you do. Evolution of the coast to stars would you repeat the process as often as necessary, because you can't keep these two catalogues in synchronization otherwise. Where the suggestion in paragraph 1

• The rating stars

  I need extra capacity number of stars (or at least I can't figure out how to make it work).

  Whenever I have upload images, I'm doing a rating star initial zero to two stars. Then at some point I can re - edit the sides using the other stars. It gives me a general structure of my library.

  When I need photos for a purpose particularly/project, I create a collection and move the images in this collection. Then, I need to make a new edition of these photos to that effect. However, I can't use the sides of the original, because then I destroy the original structure of the coast. This is complicated when I use some of the same images again to another project - another collection - etc.

  Please don't suggest you use the sides of color - I tried, but I can't stand doing a montage with this Carnival of colors around my images. It's too distracting.

  The only way I managed to solve this problem is to create virtual copies of the images before putting them in a collection, then using the virtual copy to the side for this project. However, it is very time-consuming, wasting space and makes changes to the impossible virtually (sorry) copy synchronization.

  What I would like to have really is the option to have a pricing structure separate/additional photos in a collection in addition to the General - and separate library for each collection, if photo exists in several collections. .

  Any help would be appreciated.

  There is no structure in LR to allow a photo to have a set of metadata in Collection 1 and another set of metadata in the Collection 2. other than virtual copies, which you have excluded for very good reasons.

  I guess you could (it is a rather clumsy workaround solution) to implement your collections in the form of sets of the collection, and then in each collection set have a collection named 1 star, 2 stars, 3 stars, etc.., or do the equivalent with keywords

  Otherwise, you may submit a formal request to Adobe for this ability.

• Merge two csv files both with the same columns

  I have two csv files (attached) both with the same DS column headings that I seek to merge into a csv file. I am struggling to find a way to do it.

  The two files are already sorted by DS but have additional info not required in the column of the DS. What I need is a cmdlet that will read each column DS each csv, correspond to lines and combine in a csv file.

• OVFTool - nodisks still creates the file .ovf with the disc information

  I use ovftool with the option - noDisks, but it still seems to be the information of the disc in the file .ovf (see attachments).

  I am trying to import the virtual appliance on a server ESXI 3.5 update 2 using VM Converter 4.0.1.

  When I try and import the virtual appliance, I get the following error:

  Failed: Could not download the OVF file ' http: / / xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/vm_ovf_backups/esxi-test-disk1.vmdk "."

  I thought that the option - noDisks would leave on any information relating to the disks - I'm wrong?

  Hi Michael,

  You specify the data store by using the option - data store (or abbreviation - ds). Try ovftool - datastore = ESXi-vmdk-1 /esxi - test.ovf vi://111.111.111.111/ instead.

  I have Toshiba A100-147, just out of warranty. I tried to recover with a disk, disk unpack to 69% and then I get the message "ERROR READING OF COMPRESSION FILE (1). I have no choice but to click OK in the error message box, and then quit the recovery as she stops running.

  It looks like a problem with the Toshiba Recovery CD.
  Have you tried to repeat this procedure?

  In the first place, simply copy the PDM. The index file will be recreated when the file is accessed. What is lost when the index file is not copied, therefore the time required to create the index file by scanning once the PDM file.
