Check first here: http://www.cisco.com/web/techdoc/ucs/interoperability/matrix/matrix.html

In this link, you will see the driver you need (according to your hardware/software/firmware). We just started to include a file .iso from the driver that tells you what version you will find in the file itself. Unfortunately, before the latest driver .iso we had only so you'll have to download them and whether the version you need is included there.

    Hi all

Really struggling here set up our disks/RAID on our server.

We ordered with the lsi megaraid 9271-8i.

By reading the documentation (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C220/ins...) it seems that we should have to use the following:

UCS in disabled bios - done.

Then set up the RAID, we want with the disks we want (we have 8) you should get a prompt after post Ctrl + M

    I never see this message?

I even went through the process of post whole spamming Ctrl + M without seeing any kind of raid configuration options.

    Something I am doing wrong?

    Appreciate any advice.

In your config file in the BIOS ("Advanced" tab) in the MMIC, confirm that you have "Option ROM' enabled for the PCIe slot where the RAID controller is installed and disable all others, go into BIOS and confirm that the integrated RAID controller is disabled and then reboot the server... Once you see the list of disks during POST, press Ctrl +H, Ctrl + M is the integrated RAID controller. (The controller form factor of mezz is Ctrl + C, as explained here: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/hw/C200M1/i...)

  • Need help with the disks 'unreadable' configuring software raid after the death of the startup disk and system restored.

I'm looking for some advice on how to restore a windows xp installation software raid 5 that was running on my XP system. I had a problem when the startup disk has failed, but I was able to backup the system before it can. I replaced the drive and restored the system and everything came, but I was not smart to do this and accidently left the readers connected when restoring raid. I don't know if windows has done something when I tried to install XP on the new drive, or maybe something else has happened when I restored the system from the backup, but my raid drives can not be used. There was a moment in the restaurant business I saw a message on the MBR, but I thought that was just for the drive being restored. I didn't have a single player who held any information on the other disks in the system, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

When the system boots the windows logo screen takes 10-20 minutes before you get on the desktop. Windows Disk Manager takes 20-30 minutes to fill the list of drives and status on the disks three raid is 'dynamic' and 'unreadable' is not reassuring. I suspect it's a problem MBR or partition table that must be corrected before trying to reactive the raid, but this is just speculation.

The raid drives are on a promise ide/scsi disk and make it appear to start correctly with names and sizes. After that I get nothing. I do not have another scsi controller (or), but I thought I'd try active @ partition recovery to see if she can find information on the disks.

I hope someone has some experience with recovery like this, because this is a first for me. I thought I was pretty sure running a raid-5, but wouldn't you know, the tech gods have found a way to crush my plans...

Thanks in advance for any help!

  • z820: looking for a software raid manage and view the status of disks hard raid

    HP z820 workstation,

    product # D3J63UT

I'm looking for raid management software

    Thank you.

I suggest that you follow the steps listed in the HP Document: "Z - series Workstation detection and fixing a hard drive failure within the RAID Controller utility" in the URL: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c04474148#N10829 you can find instructions how to enter each State type of RAID (Intel RST, 2308 LSI and LSI 9260-8i controller - It's the main RAID controllers usually associated with the HP Z820 workstation according to the particular configuration you ordered). Note that in most of the cases described in this document, you need to access the configuration of RAID controller during computer startup steps, by pressing CTRL + I (for Intel RST) or CTRL + C (for LSI 2308) or CTRL + H (by LSI 9260-8i). The installation program uses the RAID controller firmware and does not require to install complex inside Windows software, because it is done outside of the Windows operating system before starting. Find more details in "HP Z220 SFF, CMT Z220, Z420, Z620 and Z820 workstations maintenance and Service Guide" in the URL: http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c04205252-1.pdf , in the devices of annex b: Setup RAID (pp. 161-171) all types of RAID controllers that are relevant at the workplace Z820 are discussed.

  • HP Array Configuration Utility and ESX 3.5

    Hello

I just install ESX 3.5 on a new server, HP DL380 G5 with an internal RAID controller SmartArray P400/256. I would like to install HP Array Configuration Utility on the server, so I can monitor the integrity of the local RAID System. After installing HP System Management Homepage, I downloaded the Linux version of the ACU software and tried to install it, but rpm complains about failed dependencies (libstdc ++. so.6 is necessary for cpqacuxe - 8.28 - 13, 0).  Internet searches have turned up nothing useful. Someone at - it suggestions on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you!

    Bob

Do you mean esx or esxi?

I have installed HP SIM, but also simply use HP system management homepage to monitor the integrity of the box esx server.

Just download the HP agents and install via cli. Then you can display the system management homepage by pointing a web browser to the IP of the box of esx.

For esxi, you installed the version of esxi HP who has management agents, built in?

  • ProDesk 600 G1 BIOS configuration of the TPM secure through the BIOS Configuration utility

We have a range of devices, computers HP desktop and laptops in our environment.  Devices are all running Windows 7 64 bit and should have Bitlocker enabled, but we found that some were not encrypted.  So I am trying to set up a remote BIOS and Bitlocker config activate software that we can get out via SCCM and then embed in a task sequence image for new machines.

I use the Bios HP Configuration utility to check a BIOS password is set and then activate the TPM chip.  I took a BIOS config output of each of our models and created a settings file that has all of the TPM associated parameters of all models.

At the moment I run Setup BIOS utility manually for testing.  On all models I tried that works very well, except for the 600 ProDesk G1 SFF.

When I run the utility on the ProDesk 600 G1 MFS, it says that I have managed to update the settings, and when I check the BIOS, the TPM secure has been unhidden and the TPM Management was given to the operating system (two settings I change), but the TPM itself remains hidden.

It's the release of the BIOS configuration utility (it uses the 2.60.13.1 version, which uses plaintext passwords.  I also tried with the 3.0.13.1 later version that uses password files - same result)

    C:\ > BiosConfigUtility64.exe /cspwd: "password" set: "TPM_Config.REPSET"
    < BIOSCONFIG Version = "2.60.13.1" Computername = 'HP600G1' Date = "24/07/2014" Time = "13:01:37 ' UTC '1' = >"
    < SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "Embedded Security Device" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [hidden device]] > < / OLDVALUE >
    < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [device]] > < / NEWVALUE >
    < / SETTING >
< SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "Enable security on the next boot" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [disable]] > < / OLDVALUE >
    < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [enable]] > < / NEWVALUE >
    < / SETTING >
    < SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "The BONES of on-board safety management" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [disable]] > < / OLDVALUE >
    < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [enable]] > < / NEWVALUE >
    < / SETTING >
< SUCCESS msg = "Successfully set BIOS config." / >
    < information msg = 'BCU return the value' real '0' = translated = '0' / >
    < / BIOSCONFIG >
    C:\ >

And after a reboot (where it should activate the TPM), BIOS shows as disabled built-in safety device (see attachment for the image).

I have tried everything I can think of to get this to activate, including:

    • Different versions of the BIOS configuration utility

    • Remove the password from the BIOS and the application in the same order as the parameters

    • Different passwords

    • Reboot and allowing the machine to start completely to Windows before checking if the setting took effect

I also tried to add the utility and the commands for an SCCM package and it works directly and as part of a sequence of tasks to see if that makes a difference, but nothing I've done has activated the TPM module.

I know that the TPM module works, as you can turn it on manually and then Bitlocker can be applied to the machine, but with thousands of devices in our environment, I need to get this job without the need for manual intervention.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?  Or has someone at - he managed to activate the TPM on the SFF of 600 ProDesk G1 using the BIOS Setup utility?  Any ideas / suggestions would be very appreciated!

P.S. This thread was moved from the company PC - Compaq, Elite, Pro for HP PC Client management. -Hp moderator of the Forum

This problem has now been resolved by HP.

They provided a replacement motherboard for the test machine I was using that solved this problem. I don't know what kind of motherboard failure could prevent the activation via the script TMP chip but not prevent activation through the BIOS menu, but as a replacement solved the problem, then it must be a hardware failure.

  • After installing a new HARD drive, I get a screen "control i to access the configuration utility.

    Help?

I installed a new HARD drive on my xps 15 because the old drive crashed. Everything works fine and the system boots perfectly. Before entering the Dell splash screen, the screen "control i to access the configuration utility" appears for 5 seconds. After that, the normal boot sequence resumes. Can someone please explain to me why this is happening and what I can do about it?

Here is a link to the screen I get started: http://s102.photobucket.com/user/alexcinie/media/photo_zpsb75f0a7f.jpg.html

The mSATA drive is used as a cache for the hard drive dynamic - these are essentially implemented in a RAID 0 array.  See the link below (it is for Alienware, but applies to your system as well).

If you want to keep the disk cache, you need to configure the array as shown.

  • PERC H200 on SBS2011 RAID configuration

    Hello

Is someone can you please tell me if there is a management tool of Windows OS database for Perc H200 Dell RAID controller? I spent hours searching the web and the Dell Web site looking for an other than the utility based BIOS configuration utility (which sucks). I want to be able to check the status of my RAID1 mirror without having to stop the server. Seems reasonable. I was always able to do on the HP kit.

There are many mentions of Dell OpenManage, but when I downloaded and installed it tells me that it cannot be installed on a domain controller. Obviously nothing I can do about it on an SBS system.

Is there another utility of Windows, I can use?

This information must be so easy to find, but Dell support site is poorly organized, so I hope someone out there can help you.

    Thank you very much

    Paul

Not really hard to find... you just know what to look for.

    OpenManage Server Administrator:

    ftp.dell.com/.../OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-WIN-7.2.0-6945.exe

Download and run to extract, choose custom and ensure that storage management is installed.  Add yourservernameoripaddress:1311 to the Intranet Zone of IE.

The supported version may depend on the system that you are using this, but this latest version should work on most, if not all, who can have an installed H200.

  • Supermicro onboard Intel and Adaptec RAID configuration unrecognized in ESXi 5.5 U2

Hi, I have a supermicro X7DAL-E r1.1b motherboard has integrated Intel and Adaptec sata raid controllers. To enable raid controllers, I go into the BIOS and enable the raid configuration for intel or adaptec. I tried two raid controllers and created a configuration raid 5 by going through the bios of each controller. However, when I start to go through the process of installing ESXi 5.5 U2, I see not a logical drive, all I see are hard drives that I thought were configured as a logical drive in raid 5.

I know that I am using an old motherboard which is not on the HCL, but I just haven't the money to spend on equipment. I really want to make it work if possible. I tried to download ESXi 4 but it is no longer available . I understand I tried to use an older version to see if it contains the necessary drivers for it work and attempt to port these drivers in ESXI 5.5.

I was wondering if someone actually got this similar problem with supermicro Board and whether a solution or workaround has been found in which ESXi 5 can recognize the raid configuration? If this is impossible, it can't be done, that's what it is. I'll deal with it or put in place.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Not sure about this 'r1.1b' version, but original X7DAL-E has no onboard hardware raid controller. What he has is i5000 chipset, which offers the raid software-(aka bios-, faux-, etc.). This is not supported by ESXi (for very good reasons). And even if it were, no cache, you would get terrible performance...

  • Software RAID and ESXi

I was intending to set up a CentOS 7 seveal VMs server and a file server. I was planning on setting up with BtrFs in software RAID 10. However, my company is looking get ESXi and wants me to get some experience with it so I'm considering now to configure the server with ESXi and all my virtual machines running on that. What I was wondering is how I can use software RAID to save what will be my main VM, install a CentOS. Will be setting up software RAID using BtrFS on the virtual machine is useless? If the drive containing the ESXi installation failed, I completely lose it?

Could I do something like install ESXi on a server on two SSDs running RAID 1, then install at least one of my virtual machines to use RAID 10 on hard drives or not because all this abstract?

    Welcome to the community,

ESXi does not support software RAID, but only "real" hardware RAID. With hardware RAID, you can set different logical volumes on different disc types, create warehouses of VMFS data on them and then decide on a per-VM basis where to store the virtual disks. You can even have several virtual disks per virtual machine and store each on a different data store.

You said install ESXi on SSD. Once started, ESXi runs in memory and can even be stored/started from an SD card or a USB device. There is no need to spend money for the SSD only install ESXi.

  • Updates the performance of HP Array Configuration Utility in ESXI 5?

Is that what someone has HP Array Configuration Utility to run on ESXI 5?   Of all the post, I see that it worked under ESX but not ESX (i).   This seems to be a footnote which was offered before. Have the Array Configuration Utility to expand the disk on the fly are necessary to our data center. Should we switch to ESX 4 on all hosts.

    Current situation:

ESXI 5 servers now running many DL380 G5 with Array P400 controllers.

VMware vSphere 5 and 5 Vcenter

    Thank you

    Mike

    Hello

I do not think that the vMW allows the ACU installation at all - how he would talk to the RAID card in local hardware store?

The workaround is usually a design change. Your 'best practice' typical ESXi installation is performed in a sort of SAN, where such technology is irrelevant.

Apart from this, you can always vMotion your virtual machines to another machine, then restart a host and boot from the Smartstart CD, where you can run the ACU.

I certainly would not downgrade to ESX4 - it is like recommending a downgrade to Windows 2000 for the future.

  • How can I remove the HP Network Configuration utility

I am P2Ving some HP machines and reading the posts here on how to remove most of the HP components, but I'm stuck on how to get rid of the HP Network Configuration utility program that puts the HP Network icon in the system tray.  There is a post of Guillermo Musumeci in 2007 that said using this command:

    SNetCfg.exe - v u cq_cpqteam

to do it, but I can not find snetcfg.exe on this server.

There is also a post of Jasemccarty in 2007 that said this keymay be the key to remove:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\

    {4D36E975-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\{FD0FF0D6-4876-4894-9274-258564E35C07}

But this key does not appear in the registry on that server.  Anyone has any ideas on how to remove the last piece of a P2V-centric software HP had VM?

Anyone know why HP makes breath difficult to remove their drivers and other components?

    Thank you

    Dan

Open the properties of your network card (either will do)

Go - properties and click the HP tool and select "Uninstall".

See also http://ctxadmtools.musumeci.com.ar/HPPSPCleaner/HPPSPCleanerDownload.html for a tool to strip all HP components for you - I use it regularly after P2Vs.

    * Model: * Toshiba Ultrabook (Satellite PSU6VA - 00S 002 U940)
    * Operating system: * Windows 8.1 x 64 (upgrade of Windows 8 x 64)
    * Storage: * 500 GB + SSD 30 GB HARD drive

This particular model of Toshiba comes with two hard drives (a HARD drive and SSD) and uses the SSD for caching purposes. I think to disable this caching so that I can use the SSD for other purposes.

However, according to the observations of MannerhagenVPO in [this thread | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=79976]:
-This caching is implemented with a software RAID
-To access the SSD, you must remove the RAID software
-Once deleted, software RAID can be restored by an authorized Service Professional. Even the Toshiba recovery media will not be able to restore it.

I'm not really worried about permanently losing the caching features. What concerns me is this: the Toshiba recovery media will always be able to restore Windows 8 (but without caching)? Or the recovery media Toshiba will become completely useless if software RAID is deleted?

As far as I know the RAID features will be removed if replace you / remove or change the SSD or HARD disk drive.

In any case, using recovery media created by Toshiba Recovery media creator software you should be able to reinstall the Toshiba preinstalled system
