M100 - flashing light power supply (ac or battery).

Hello
I just bought a laptop M100 a few weeks back and it was fine. The other day I was playing with the password Toshiba utility I ran into XP. I put a password on it for I think has the power on function. I then rebooted the machine and now it initializes more.

When I turn it on, the power led (2nd from the left, between the AC-in and battery) lights green as usual for a split second, then flashes orange in a balance on ground. There is no display, no hard disk activity, and it will not power off unless I have the button for 10 seconds. The fan also seems shot at high speed right away, which does not occur normally.

I have tried with and without battery, without hard disk, without RAM or battery cmos. Same problem every time! I can't even start up TOSHIBA start screen.

Someone pleeease help me. I'm at a loss as to what it could be. Also, it seems that no one on the net have reported this problem before.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

More details: the capslock button light does not answer, but not the light of the FN key. By pressing any button on the keyboard results in a beep slightly delayed.

Hello

Well, firstly the password of Toshiba utility allows you to set two levels of password security user password and supervisor password. This function prevents any unauthorized access to your computer.
What password do you have?
As far as I know there are two ways to start the computer:
Insert a password token before turning on the computer. The computer will boot normally, without displaying a prompt of password or enter the password manually.

In addition, the second light on the left side is a power indicator. It lights up green when the computer is turned on. If you turn off the computer in recovery mode, this indicator flashes in orange (a second to two seconds) while the computer shuts down.

Well, I put t know why you can boot the unit t, but please also check password settings in the BIOS. Here, you can try to remove this password.

  • Need power supply/cord for battery charger CB-2LYE for powershot SX710. Suggestions?

Buy powershot foreign SX710. Power cord that attaches to the bateery charger does not catch US. Where can I buy just the power cord (and what he calls really? my research do not work...)

You can get the charger all this and the cord for about 15 euros with free shipping or less on the auction sites. I doubt that a cord will be much less but if you really want one then you will need to measure the length width depth and take note of the curves and look for electronic like DigiKey or YouDoIt or allied or other suppliers. Radio Shack maybe.

Terms such as the power cord, power cord, power cord AC power might work

    Dear med87,

    Welcome to Lenovo Community

Under the program of the energy that should come with the computer as a pre-installed program management, you must press (settings battery) then under the battery you should have called the battery Protection Mode, select it and press OK.

This Mode charger the battery Up to 60% and stops charging the battery, then it take its power from the charger, it's the best thing you can do to protect your battery.

Please try the computer, if you have had other problems, let me know.

  • sudden loss of battery power, connection lost, lose all power from power supply disconnected, does not recognize battery

I have a Sony VAIO & use the largest of the battery (extended life) since I bought it 3 years ago fighting.  I was always able to automatically switch the power supply of the battery by simply unplugging, or computer plugging in AC on leash.  And, I was always able to see the battery down icon to the left of the screen (taskbar) & it would show % battery remaining.  Now, all at once, as soon as the power supply cord is UN-plugged the laptop turns off completely, no reserve power at all & I can't find the info of the battery. anywhere on the computer.  Icon no longer appears in the lower left corner & when I go into the power settings, the "Battery 1" icon is grayed out, so it seems that the computer is not finding all the batteries.  It happened so suddenly.  Could battery comes essentially lost all its power & become non-existent to the computer, or is this a computer problem, battery not recognize.  Not sure if this puts some I can fix somewhere, or if I need to have a computer repair man to fix the real computer.  Please HELP, I am desperate to solve this problem, as a laptop does not really serve its purpose if it must be connected to the hard power all the time!  TX in advance for a help, suggestions.

Yes, most things are cheaper to replace than to trouble.

But if the laptop seems to work ok otherwise, he might just be easier to see if there is a recall on the faulty battery or if it is still under warranty.  In addition, sometimes you can add a little more memory to the old system and see some performance improvements

on the other hand, replacement of the laptop can be problematic because the old machine has all the programs installed on it, registered product keys and has accumulated years of personal files.  and sometimes old expensive programs won't work on newer versions of windows.

the argument would be to close the new machine on the standards you eventually accept.

  • Seeing flashes of power on Tecra A3X (PTA3XE)

    Hello

A user of our has decided to give his cell phone, a small glass, it is true that his office is pretty hot, but personally, I don't think it's that thirst.

Fortunately, it isn't that she threw on her rather than liquid food sugars/decaffeinated, although he was on at the time of the water.

Dismantled, it the best I could and let dry yesterday, most of the impact seems to be the front left (hard drive Bay swimming) if the chip of the extreme right and memroy in the Middle seems to have averted any entry of water.

This morning when I reconnected it all, farily predicatably, don't turn on the battery power. When I plugged in the socket (at arms length) the power started flashing orange indicator - two courts, a long, two short, one long and then two short.

Had a quick movement through the user manual and the only reference to the orange light flashing on power supply is overheating and inferes is no trend in the flashig, just that it will continue until it reaches a safe temperature.

I'm sure that the wee thing is lousy but I wondered that the led power indicated and then by extension if this means that there is no room I can save as a spare (as it can denote ok more memory or chip and others).

    TIA!

HM, sounds the motherboard has been screwed upward. I don't know, but if you´re really sure that everything is well connected and so on, it should work.
Maybe the motherboard did get a small splash of this drink 'action '.

The problem with liquids and laptops is that they won´t together and after a few times "liquid spill" a PCB can get a short circuit from devices that have been in contact with the liquid.

My opinion: PCB disappeared. But that's just a theory. :)

    Welcome them

    Hello

It seems that your electronic control gear is damaged!

But as a first step, you can try to de - and reinstall the Toshiba power saver to set up a new power management profile.

You can play is safe and the recovery of the laptop. This set the operating system to the factory settings and the system should work without problems! But beware, all your data will be lost after the recovery!

Ultimately that all the solutions will not help, you should check the electronic control gear by the Service partner

the second problem is that the left mouse botton does not work, the work aside right very well. I went in the proprties to put it right, click on to, but who does not work either. I've updated the drivers but still nothing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi aloum,.

    (a) what kind of mouse you are using?

    (b) the left button of the mouse seems to be stuck or it does not meet the click? This only happens with certain applications?

Step 1: Test the mouse on another computer or another mouse on the test computer

To determine whether the mouse or the computer is defective, follow these steps:

    1. test the mouse in question on a system that works, you know. If the problem appears to follow the mouse, you may need to return or replace the mouse.

2 test a mouse you know is working on the computer in question. If the problem seems to stay on the computer, then the problem is most likely related to the software.

In regard to the battery not holding charge

Battery problems are often associated with the battery itself. If you encounter this problem, contact your mobile PC manufacturer. If you purchased the battery separately from the notebook computer, contact the manufacturer of the battery.

  • new mobo, new power supply, no ethernet, no multimedia audio controller controller

last week my Dimension 2400 poop outside, orange flashing light power, no beeps, no ABCD lights, nada... A service technician (phone) told me that the motherboard was probably bad. I replaced it with a new one (http://ascendtech.us/Itemdesc.asp?ic=MB4DELL2400UNV&eq=&Tp=)

It turns out that the mobo was very good and it was the power supply. Replaced, works very well. kept the new mobo.

Everything runs great, the problem is that at the start of the wizard detects new hardware:

    -Ethernet controller

    -Multimedia audio controller

at the back of the PC, a LAN led is green, a solid orange. Everything is connected correctly because the Verizon Fios connection is strong (I'm on my laptop using the WAN connection now).

I read a few other threads need an ethernet driver, but nothing I have install seems to help.

Can you? Is there something that I am missing? I need my LAN back!

Thanks in advance for any help :)

  • Satellite A500 - battery light flashes when connected to the power supply

    Win 7 Satellite A500 PSAM3A-03P00E.

Battery light flashes when connected to the power supply (intermittent fault), when I disconnect the sector and reconnect the flashing stops and battery (high capacity) continues to receive.

Also, when battery light blinks the keyboard backlight stays on when it should white and if the backlight is turned off and the battery light starts to blink the keyboard backlight turns on, all other functions seem to work well.

Charges of battery and the wedges load properly (when the battery flashes).

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem since the first day of purchase?
Theoretically, it could be possible that your battery begins to malfunction
On the other hand, an electrical problem could also be possible

    However, try this:
Remove the battery and the AC adapter. Then press and hold button power 30 sec long.
Then insert the battery and plug AC adapter still does that help?

By the way: this is the BIOS updated? If this isn't the case, perform an update.

  • Equium L40 10 X flashing green power light

    Hi guys,.

I have an old Equium L40 that I haven't used in a while.

Now when I plug the power adapter into the power green led just blinks constantly.
I checked the blink codes, but I can't find one for mine. It simply turns green for a second then off.
Then green for a second then off the coast and that constantly.

I tried to remove the battery for a few minutes and then hold the power button for a minute, but I just get the same result. The adapter is one that came with the laptop and as far as I can tell works very well.

Other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you guys!

    Hello

Indicator power (DC IN) indicates the status of the power supply with the power adapter plugged.
(Without flashing) Green means supply and the computer is turned on.
The power light on the front of the computer lights green when the computer is turned on.
Flashing orange indicates power to the computer while the laptop is in mode 'sleep'.

Unfortunately, the DC IN green flashing red state looks like a hardware problem.
Probably the power supplied to the laptop is abnormal or there are a few problems with electronic power on the motherboard.

By the way: Please check the memory modules live. Blow an and test the device using that one module in each slot. Check the two modules.
A few years ago, a friend of mine had some problems with the laptop. The flashing light indicates the issue of RAM

    Hello

Thank you for the information. For battery light blinks several times, I have included the following document 'computer does not start and the lights blink or computer beeps. Once you have the link open, click on power battery light flashes and follow the steps.

The second document I've included is 'computer won't start (Windows 7, Vista, XP)'. Once you do not have the document open, click the symptom that is to have your computer and follow the steps in order.

The last document I've included is, "battery Does not portable computer power or hold a Charge. This will take you through the different options of battery test, power supply and motherboard.

Please let me know if you are able to turn on the laptop after this, thank you.

    Hello

There must be a hardware, perhaps with the electronic power supply problem.
In this case, the motherboard should be replaced.
But you should contact Toshiba service partner in your country. It can start some diagnostic tests and then it can give you a detail answer what's exactly wrong.

    I have a satellite x 200 - s20. Owner since new, 2 and a half years.
The laptop works perfectly, but I don't know if I need a new battery, power or maybe there is a hardware problem (but I doubt it).

When it is connected to the power outlet, provide the following happpens:

He started using the battery instead of the power supply.
Power and battery leds turn on and turn off (on during a few seconds and then off for a few seconds).
At this point, the battery stops charging.

In the manual it mentions something on one of the lights turn blue, none have ever done that.

    Hope someone can advise
    Thank you

    Hello

In my opinion, you should first check if the power adapter is not a malfunction.
If the AC adapter would work properly, then the battery might not be charged and the battery led not turn to blue because the battery is not fully charged.

I would recommend so check the AC adaptor first.
Of course this is only my personal opinion and I could be wrong too
