M30X-124: Image saving in the system tray evacuated.

Hello

I own a Satellite M30X 124 with Windows XP SP2. Installing Toshiba Power Saver everything works until suddenly the image in the tray flush system. I then reinstall the Toshiba Power Saver (GST) for all works as expected.
Now, I have about reinstalled GST 5 times. Does anyone know a solution or at least the problem?

Greetz,
Micha

Hello

Well, I think that it s not a malfunction of the energy economy. I guess the option Hide inactive icons in the taskbar and Start Menu properties is marked.
Move the pointer on the taskbar and right click. You should see the properties of the taskbar. Here, you can disable the Hide inactive icons option.

Good bye

  • Equium A60-191: application control status of the battery in the system tray?

I had to reinstall XP. This has caused the loss of pilots and probably other things that I don't know.

One of the elements lack seems to be the software or driver? for the battery. The battery is cooler at full power. The software located in the system tray used to indicate the power status and if it is ac or dc connected.

Any suggestions that I need and where I can get to fix this, please?

    Hello

I know you don t need the drivers or software for charge the battery to full power. Only what you need is the Toshiba Power saver utility.
This utility is very useful because you can set different power for portable use different modes. For example, if you disconnect the laptop computer of the energy-saving AC adapter will automatically switch to the mode of energy that has been configured for the use of the battery.
These methods help take care of the battery and increases battery life and it shows a battery status in the taskbar
But there is nothing to recharge the battery witch.

In my manual, I found a lot of info on the battery and how to manage the use of the battery. I think that the same information you will find in your user manual. Check it out.

The last possibility is a malfunction of the battery.
But in this case only a battery replacement will solve your problem.

If you want you can try to check if the same thing happens with the new battery.

  • See all power plans 3 on the system tray

Windows 7 is better than Vista in many ways, but it's actually much worse in other countries. For example, choosing the power management in the system tray.

In Windows Vista, you may click on the battery meter and a choice of 3 plans: High Performance, balanced and power saver.

Now, for some silly reason, Microsft has decided to limit our choices to only TWO plans of the system tray: your plan current + balanced (balanced is selected according to me, it is defaulted to energy saving for the 2nd). Change the 3rd one I actually click on "More power Options" and then select the plan.

Microsoft is that you have to take additional measures to do something that was easier before. I thought that the mantra of Windows 7 has been "making things faster" (e.g. Jumplists, Aero Peek, accelerators, etc..) Who is the fool who made this decision, and how do I get my GED style Vista power return?

UH maybe if you read my original post (or use Windows 7 itself), balanced is ALWAYS shown, even if it wasn't your plan 'old '. If you switch between energy savings and high performance, which is what I want.

What happens if I deleted the balanced power plan? Is there a way to delete the default plans?

    Yes, there is a way.

  • No display in the system tray

Yes... I do not have the sound display in the system tray where I normally see how strong the tones are when I adjust with the little weel on laptops from toshiba for the volume (simple, but good idea ^ ^)--i do not know why I see TI - if I click with the right button on the other system of symbols and go into the settings for them , I see, I have enable all (from 4) symbol system, except the volume symbol, who is nicknamed more gray, so I can't take it I see it in the system tray!
How can I re-enable? (I also try a system recovery and search in the service-i do not get this button in my taskbar!)

    Hi mate,

usually you will need to go to the audio properties and there is an option (check box) where you can check/uncheck the 'volume control see in the status bar"or something that sounds similar. : D
This box should be ticked, and you have to press 'Apply '.

That's all, there is no other options, just the one in the audio properties.

    Do you have sound?

    Why is this?

Have we lost all files etc on the laptop?

Any help would be great - thanks

    Wayne

Well, the system on the HARD drive seems to be corrupted.
Who knows why, but it happens sometimes, it s nothing unusual and, therefore, it s always recommended to backup the data always

The files are not lost, but you are not able to start the unit.

    What you can do?
Well, you can grab the laptop again.
By using the HARD drive recovery option (press F8, repair my computer, drive HARD recovery) or by using the recovery disk

But this will format the HARD drive and you will lose data.
If you want to get access to the data, I recommend booting of live CD WinPE and BartPE.

  • NB200 - Notifications in the system tray area

Every few seconds I get an annoying popup notification in the system tray area that informs me of the 'blocked events' these are events all IPv4 TCP or UDP. I really want to turn off these notifications, but despite a vast internet searching I can't find out how to do this. I tried the Action Center and tried the obvious firewall settings, but nothing will stop them. I find them very boring.

I have a 12W NB200 running Windows 7 Home Prmium (a recent update from Windows 7 Starter Edition). -the problem occurs in both versions. Initially, I used installed but uninstalled McAfee security suite and am using 2009 F-secure Internet security suite for which I have a valid license.
The system is connected wireless to my BT Home hub router and is connected through the homegroup for two PC. The other two computers are connected through ethernet cables to the router and both run on Windows 7 Home Premium with Avira internet security. I don't get the pop-ups on these machines.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Which program generates alerts - are you sure its f-secure or would it be the widows firewall or mcafee? I don't know anything about f-secure (other than I couldn't find a manual 2009 on their website), but I would say that it will keep a diary of events and when you get close to the 'variant' that appears (and I expect clears) you will also find an option on the display of the event.

Re my comment about this program is-are you happy that you have removed any trace of mcafee? Have you run msconfig and looked at the services and startup for any trace tabs? Also look in the Manager of tasks for all traces: in the services tab, click description to sort and search for mcafee from the similar description in the process but I think that you would have never had 1 entry of mcafee.

I think that this should have been the first para. Have you created/modified the firewall rules? The log file must provide the ip address of the event source and which is in the range of ip addresses of your network domestic? and since you are a bt customer internet you have a bt vision pvr and who is the source?

Satellite 1900-803 OS - XP - Home (SP2) has developed an error at startup, it starts, but has the matte screen (the equivalent of the lowest screen brightness setting) and a few icons missing in the system tray in the task bar, (ie. icon remove a security device, mousepad icon & hide the unused icon button), only fix I found is to do a system restore , that everything returns to normal, icons etc, restored once the screen not more problems occur even after hibernation, (restore point should be a point of automatic system generated manually created)

Have you checked the drivers to display, bios updates, control panel in utilities to display etc., all seem correct and up-to-date, can anyone help, I checked the forums but not found anything similar, I checked, the reset screen FL inverter connections, but no change, dysfunction on AC or battery.
suspect a software problem? BIOS problem?

    Hello

I read a few topics on missing icons in the system tray. It seems that it s is a windows bug.
Please check these messages from the forum:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=15065

    Maybe it helps.

I can t say too much on the matte screen. Of course, if the Fl inverter is dead the display appears dull but you issue sounds a little different. The problem doesn't persist all time. That's why I think that it s not a frequency inverter. Usually, the Toshiba power saver is responsible for the brightness of the screen. You should check the settings of the single power supply modes. Maybe you switched between different modes of energy and the brightness of the screen has also been changed.

  • HP Envy 5660: yellow triangle in the system tray

I have a yellow triangle that appears at the bottom right of my screen - in the system tray - on top of the blue question mark HP.   I can't get rid of it.   It's the same thing every time - there are two errors (Windows and iOS) telling me that my printer is not on the network.

My printer works fine.   It will scan, copy, print, and send emails.   It is not a problem.   It is true that I turn it off for several days at a time, but I don't like to waste energy.

I followed the instructions in the Windows message three times.   The triangle back in an hour or a day.   I do not receive messages on iOS, because I use this system on a Windows computer.

This triangle is present - continuous - for the last six weeks, I just tried to ignore it, because there seems to be nothing wrong with the computer and a diagnostic printout tells me the e-mail address computers and said that things are fine.   The way I use my printer, it works fine!

I just want to lose the triangle!

  • RESOLVED: The Task Manager icon in the system tray

I always keep my task manager running as an icon in the system tray.  After an update of software that seems to be an update of Windows XP or IE7, I can minimize is no longer my status bar task manager system; the icon is no longer present.  I have not changed the settings view in the Task Manager bar; they are all checked.  Now, I have to keep the Task Manager minimized in the taskbar instead.  [None of the taskbar settings were changed to icons in the system tray as I downloaded the SP3 for XP over 3 years ago.]  Could it have been caused by the update or y at - it a way to get the Task Manager to reduce in the tray system again?  Thank you.

I tried all types of features troubleshooting before coming here, including a full analysis of the antiviral software from my system & checking event viewer.  I even went in the registry to see if something happened to the system tray.  BUT... The action to be performed by the most obvious and which should have been the first, I failed to do - restart.  Due to an another software update of my antiviral package yesterday, 22/02/2012, I needed to restart.  After the reboot, the Task Manager icon returns to the system tray and minimization has not caused to disappear.

The only thing I can conclude is that something has gone wrong during the update of the software of MS Windows and installation of KB2660456, KB2647516-IE7, & KB2661637.  It was the only thing that happens so that I was with MS Paint, no browser was opened or other software packages on except what is necessary to update the files over an internet connection.  To take a hit to what it was exactly would be silly because any number of operations might have bothered with or temporarily created a small problem with the properties of the view Task Manager.

So I chalk it up to did not not the most basic 'Fixer glitch", reboot, in my haste to find a culprit.  I hope that my blunder will remind others not not forget to start with the basics for sudden failures troubleshooting.  Thank you for your time and your advice.

[I'm sorry; [I broke each problem statement rule with this post by do not detail what I've done, this system that I have, and what software I use and their versions.]

  • Yellow shield in the system tray

Last night, I just downloaded the latest updates three which included KB890830, the malicious software removal tool.  The other two were (KB2880513) and (KB2878233).  The yellow shield shows that KB890830 is always available.  I am using XP - Pro SP3 and IE8.  Is - this another opportunity where can I uninstall and reinstall these updates?  There has been no recent problems with Windows Updates so far.

A few days ago I visited my XP computer.  The yellow shield is no longer in the system tray.  I don't know if Microsoft has nothing to correct this problem.  Thanks to all of you who have seen the post regardless of which corrects the problem.

  • Update icon is missing from the system tray

    Salvation Windows XP experts,

My "Automatic Updates" is set on "download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them", but several times I don't get the icon in the system tray, and it is until I want to shud down my laptop when I get the message "click on disable to install important updates and turn off your computer. , and if I work on the batteries, I don't even get this message. Sometimes I change my setting "Notify Me but don't automatically download or install" hoping that icon will appear, but it's not.

Recently, I have been informed of the 2 updates to download and agreed, but they got downloaded the icon has disappeared... and when I lock my PC, I got this message because I have new updates have been installed, I clicked on the button "turn off". I was surprised when I saw him on the screen saying 1 of 1 updates is being intalled! I pressed the power button until it exploded and then restarted, it, went into the folder Windows to know he was installing the single update, is not one of the 2 updates that I accepted on! What a f * ing system?

What can I do to see what updates will be installed on my PC?

    Thank you

    z

    Hello

If I understand well, you have a little problem with the 'automatic update' - in particular with the notification in the system tray icon. The icon does not appear in the system status bar when updates are ready for instalation - does?

There is a similar but opposite problem - system "Auto update" displays the icon in the system tray – as they may be new updates installed, but the updated window does not update after clicking on the icon in the system tray:

    http://www.eggheadcafe.com/Microsoft/Windows-Update/29682120/Automatic-Update-icon-stay-on-system-tray.aspx

So, this has been resolved by removing the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" directory "C:\WINDOWS" folder

(before deletion was stopped the service "Windows update").

    What you can try:

    (1) this Fix IT (full reset Windows Update components - including registration of libraries, to rename files ...)

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058/en

    2) install the latest version of the Windows Update Agent (for good communication with the WWW of Windows update server)

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/949104/en

    3) only recommend - install the latest IE (IE8) (Select language)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=43

    (4) this Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic (I hope that will be the pages of the SITE in English)

    http://www.Microsoft.com/genuine/diag/

enable to download ActiveX and validate windows

I confess that I have not read previous answers (PA bear MS MVP) in detail, it is possible that you've already tried this. However, I tried this, if I had similar problems.

This also occurs in the Volume icon at the same time. Do not remember what has been loaded or were able to do.  This fine all worked until the day. Hi JayBregand,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         Who are the automatic patches from Microsoft have you tried?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: Try to add the icon again and the Coachman. If the problem persists you can read the following article and check.

Volume icon is not displayed in the notification area, and you may receive an error message when you try to add

     http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/319095

Method 2: Create a new profile on the computer and check if the problem persists. If this is not the case, the other profile is corrupt. To create a new user profile, you can see the article mentioned below for the procedure.
