Satellite C660 - no sound headphones but through speakers - Win7

I know that many people here have the same problem, but so far I have found no solution.
My sound card is a Realtek. After you have reinstalled Windows 7 I have no sound on my headset so that I have some of my speakers.

As soon as I connect the headphones, the Realtek Manager appears and I choose headphones but if I press the 'Test' button there is no sound and no sound if I play music.
Any des/re-reinstalling drivers does not fix.

I should mention that my headset works perfectly with Ubuntu. The input jack is good.
In "Playback devices" icon of sound control, the entry "Speakers" "puts in default" in gray.

Many thanks for any help.

Kind regards.

> As soon as I connect the headphones, the Realtek Manager appears and I choose the headphones, but if I press the 'Test' button there is no sound and no sound if I play music.

Go to the dashboard-> Realtek HD audio manager

Here, you should see the speakers on the tab. Click on the yellow folder in the upper right.
Ensure that the option disable front jack detection is NOT checked.
Also check out the option down called enable auto popup dialogue box

By the way: in the control panel-> sound-> reading tab right click and mark both options see the disabled devices, show hidden devices
Now, you should also see the headset plug. In case it has been disabled, you could make it active.

  • Satellite M305D: No sound through the headphones but the speakers don't work

    Hey,.

I have a M305D I reformatted and installed Vista Ultimate. I installed all necessary drivers.

However, when I plug the headphones in the headphone jack I have no sound in headphones and the loudspeakers continue to play.

I don't know if the socket has worked before I refomrated.

    So I can't tell if it's a pre-existing condition.

Assistance on the issue of the helmet would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Have you tested with another helmet?

Maybe the little switch that is part of the headphone jack works not properly and doesn t switch between speakers and headphones.
In this case the question would be related to hardware

I m not very well if this problem could be related to a malfunction of the software, but it would be really interesting to know if the problem persists after installing the OS from the recovery DVD.

  • Sound is played through speakers with headphones plugged?

I had just driven back one of my audio drivers (which is Cirrus Logic CS4206A AB 78) after the last version is not about me. Who restored the sound from the computer, but after trying to plug my headphones into the headphone, I tried to play video files and the sound played through your PC speakers, not headphones. What happens, and is it possible to solve?

Exercise the functions mentioned below to adjust the Microphone as default:
    a. Click Start, and click Control Panel.
    b. click sound, and then a new window will open.
    c. in the new windows, click on the 'Registration' tab and right click in the window and click disabled devices show.
d now check if the Microphone is listed there and right-click on it and choose activate.

  • sound of the headphones, but no speakers

I have an Inspiron 710 m laptop, Windows XP 512 MB.  I recently lost my sound (loudspeakers); used the diagnostic/troubleshooting tools indicating no problem with settings etc.  Remote Assistant also ran controls and finally concluded that I had to replace the motherboard.  I don't think it was worth the cost & did not however, someone gave me a helmet and I get sound through them!  Any idea what is the problem?  My speaker on sounds and Audio devices configuration is OK.

    Thank you

  • Satellite C660/C850 - sounds disappears - then returns

Just a quick call to see if anyone has encountered something similar! :)

A bit of history... I work in a secondary school.
We currently have 50 laptops Toshiba C850 and 20 notebooks of Toshiba C660, although these totals, only 30 are allocated to members of the staff.

We had some staff members say the sound suddenly disappears on their laptop.
A teacher can play a clip on YouTube, DVD, or a presentation, and the sound suddenly stops working.

This affects the internal and all connected speakers speakers.
A teacher said that this anomaly occurs approximately 1 to 2 times a day, without exception.

I had a quick glance this morning and of course, a YouTube clip was playing, but not sound.
All the usual volume controls were nice and high.
I tried to play one of the default Windows system sounds and you could hear it!
I tried to play the video for YT, once again and nothing.

As soon as I reloaded the page, the sound in the video for YT worked.
However, according to the Professor, if he clicks on the control of volume and moves the cursor to create this famous "beep", it does not normally... and I think.

All laptops are on Windows 7 Pro, and run the drivers from the Support from Toshiba site.
I'll try to install the new chipset and audio drivers following, but thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone else has experienced similar... and fixed it?

    See you soon! :)

    > I had a quick glance this morning and of course, a YouTube clip was playing, but not sound.
This happened to me also using a unit of Tecra A11.
The Youtube video had no sound, but if I plugged and re plugged the headphones, the sound appeared again.

I thought that it was a problem with the headphone jack but I wanted to check if this problem could be solved by reinstalling the driver.

First of all, I uninstalled the audio driver Realtek system. Then I went into Device Manager and deleted the high definition Audio Controller in the area of system devices.
In Audio, video controller and games, I've removed the Intel audio input displays.
    Finally, I rebooted the system.

After restarting again recognized windows devices removed. I have checked the Read tab in the control panel-> sound and found new headphones to the device that was not visible before.

Then I started Youtube and checked the sound. She was available. Then, I installed the latest version of the Realtek HD audio driver and restarted the machine.
    The noise was still there

So hopefully it was just and issue of pilot

  • Satellite L650 - no sound external subwoofer, from speakers

    Hello

I recently acquired a [Toshiba Satellite L650-14F | http://se.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/ro/product/Satellite-L650-14E/1086065/] laptop comes with no OS.

    I installed Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit on it as well as all the pilots involved, including the [last driver sound | http://se.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?LNG=27&service=SE&selC fulltext = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 178 & selProduct = 537 6 & selShortMod = 1000 & language = all & selOS = 30 & selType 4 2 = & yearupload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = allMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = all & selectedLanguage = all & type = 42 & page = 1 & ID = 74 199 & DISO = 30 & driverLanguage = 42].

The audio chipset seems to be Conexant SmartAudio HD CX20671. However, when I connect my Logitech 2.1 audio system (2 speakers, 1 subwoofer) via the headphone jack, I have no sound in the subwoofer, only the speakers.

If I right click on the sound Manager icon in Windows 7 and select "Playback devices" then Conexant and set up, I can only see the Audio channels: stereo and no other options. It's 2010. HD audio has been around for some time now. I sincerely hope that Toshiba did not have a modern laptop with only stereo support.

Any help to get the subwoofer will appreciated.

    Hi Skello,

What Logitech speakers, you have exactly? Which audio port do need?

Have you already tested the speakers on another computer to test if the subwoofer is working correctly?
    All cables are connected correctly?

Also check the Windows sound settings. Change the settings for desktop speakers as Akuma wrote.

  • Satellite P20 - system sounds work but nothing else

I have a P20-552 (PSP26E-025E9-S4) which is a little more than two years. This morning he suddenly decided to not play some sounds. System sounds play as usual as do all soundtracks from my video editing software (Adobe Premiere Elements).

However, when you try to open a file AVI, WAV or MP3 using WMP, I get the following message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with the audio device. It might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it can be used by another program, or it might not work properly

iTunes gives you a similar error message.

RealPlayer produces more sound during radio playback. It gives all the possible indications of play station involved, but no actual sound is produced. It was working fine last night.

The only thing I remember past which was for the first time in four days, when I turned the machine last night the Windows automatic update did NOT install something. For the last four days, he apparently had five updates to perform each time and I, of course, always left the machine in order to perform updates and turns off.

In Control Panel, I just went in sounds and Audio devices and on the Volume tab, he says no. Audio Device. Under the tab Audio everything is grey I ve a feeling that this is not normal

In Device Manager there is no indication of any conflicts etc.

    Can someone help me, please?

I had a similar situation after voice chat through MSN messenger. Remove the sound card in Device Manager, reboot the device and check if it works again. If so, is probably a responsible application of this.

    Which one? Find only.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - sound works but function button and volume button are not

    Hello

Although the sound on my laptop works well, I can no longer on / turn off or adjust the volume by using the function keys or the sound button/wheel (before the laptop).

I think it can occur after you uninstall a boot program (controls when everything starts during startup).

Any ideas how I can get it working again?

    Hello

Why you n t try to adjust the operating system in the early time before you uninstalled the application?
I think this might be the best way to get this rerun

Otherwise, try to reinstall the Toshiba 3.23.1704.U for Win XP controls

    How to stop these sounds?

    Hi peekaboosmom,

Sounds like a virus or adware to me.

I would say running an anti-virus and anti-malware analysis on your system.

Looks like something is running in the background.

    1 how long it lasts?

    2. is there anything added/removed before it began?

  • Satellite C660 PSC0LE update problem - new install of Win7 64 bit-

Don't know not if someone can help me, but I'm lost the will to live.

I have this laptop, the operating system damaged and due to a malware infection. I never had the recovery discs, so I clean installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, twice in the space of 3 days, because every time, Windows Update will not work. It just happens on updates and never ends. I tried EVERY solution course - ive reset update of windows, all done the fix that programs provided by microsoft without success.

As I said, it is a facility completely clean, no virus, no 3rd party firewall, anti updates tempted via ethernet and wifi. Am I missing a driver any? There is no warning or exclamation points in Device Manager?

It's my head. What I am doing wrong?

An observation, both facilities have forced me to activate by phone, it wouldn't do it on the internet? Is this related in any way?

    Drivers installed:
    Chipset
    Video
    Audio
    LAN
    WLAN
    Touchpad

I got them out of this page: http://www.toshiba.co.uk/innovation/...untry=8&page=1

Is there anything I'm missing that are important?

    Thanks in advance!

SP1 is already installed on your Windows 7 system?
Otherwise, you can download this from here:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/w...Service-Pack-1

Otherwise I recommend checking the knowledge base of MS Windows 7 update issues.

You do not have "use the image of Toshiba and so it's no problem for laptop Toshiba but system problem."

  • Satellite C660 missing LAN during the boot of Win7

    Hello

We have a number of C660 and until last week, we've hidden a minimum of problems with it.

Now that we are living something very strange.

A couple of laptops, we lost the LAN when it is started in Windows 7.

Someone else has had this problem and don't know a solution?

    Thank you
    Benji

    Hello

Do you mean that your network card is not visible in the Device Manager or what?

Usually if no network cable is connected to the LAN plug, the system disables the network adapter LAN to extend the operating time of the battery.

+ The network adapter is missing in Device Manager.

  • Satellite C660-15r - restore Windows 7 without password

I bought Toshiba Satellite C660-15r off someone, but the problem is that there is a password at startup upward.
It's very well because I was about to restore it somehow but when I go to the restoration of windows you need a password to access.

Is it possible to reinstall windows with using windows restore. I really hope that someone can help you.

    My advice is to follow:
When you buy used laptop install OS again to have the own operating system preinstalled. Use the Toshiba recovery image, if possible.
Just a question: do you mean password BIOS or Windows login password?

If the previous user has put a password, you need and without that password, you can do nothing.
If the pre-installed OS is locked with password login, you can install OS using recovery DVDs and you don't need any password for it. I just hope that the previous owner has created this recovery DVDs.

  • Re: Satellite C660: Sound through the speakers when the headset is connected.

    I have a brand new 258 C660, running on Windows 7.
Playback device: Realtek High Definition Audio

    * Whenever I have headphones or external speakers connected via the 3.5 mm jack plug, sound still comes through the built-in distant.*

    Here's what's happened so far:

When I plugged the external speakers were first, I was asked to choose if I had plugged a headphone or speakers. I selected "speakers" and then also, perhaps foolishly, choose "do not ask me again".
Now, I can't to this selection again.

Here's what I've tried so far:
    -Reboot
-Try different headphones, try them on other devices
-System Restore (not, for some reason any)
-all settings via the sound control panel

Basically, I think that I am looking for a way to disable the internal ATAPI Jack when the external Jack 3.5 mm is used.

I am aware, there was a similar thread some time ago, but the problem may be slightly different and perhaps due to the fact that I chose "do not ask me again". At least, I hope this isn't a hardware problem...

Thanks in advance for any advice

Don t think there s hardware issue.

    Try this:
    Connect the headphones.
Go to the control panel-> Sound-> playback tab
Here, you should see the speakers and headphones.
Now choose the headphones and set this default value.

    This help you?
