M6-1105dx upgrade for Windows 10

After updating my book of m6 11005dx want to WIndows 10, I m getting an intermittent error that my video card AMD has "stopped working" where the screen goes black for a while and then go back. I know that this laptop was not approved for 10 update, etc., but I don't want to go down because of a single issue. Suggestions on how to get the update of the video card driver? Go directly to the AMD website? Any help appreciated. -Jim

  • I have an OEM of Windows Vista version on a dying computer. Can I buy the upgrade for Windows 8 and install it on the new PC, I'm building?

I have an OEM of Windows Vista version on a dying computer. Can I buy the upgrade for Windows 8 and install it on the new PC, I'm building? The upgrade, is published at the same time as I'm rebuilding my PC. I'm just looking to replace my OS. I need Vista.

    Hello

OEM license is tied to the first machine that is installed on the OEM license dies when this machine dies.

An OEM license is not transferable.

And you need a legal edition of Windows, enabled for upgrade.

There is no use, you buy a license upgrade of Windows 8 by itself as you have to upgrade anything of in the new computer, you build...

You can buy a license of Windows 8 when it comes out later this year.

  • Get the 8004FF84 error when you try to download and install an upgrade for Windows

I can't download and install an upgrade for windows. Try to install the product error code 8004FF84.

Installation may stop if the system cannot copy files. Here are some possible causes and solutions for this problem:

Your Windows installation disc is scratched, smudged, or dirty. Clean the disc with a soft cloth, insert it in the CD or DVD drive, and then start the Windows installation again. If your installation disc is damaged, you may need to replace it. For more information, go to how to replace lost, broken, or missing Microsoft software or hardware on the Microsoft Web site.

Your CD-ROM or DVD drive is not working properly or the disk might be vibrating too much for the laser correctly read data. For more information about this problem, see your hardware documentation or contact the manufacturer of the CD or DVD drive.

If your computer has multiple CD or DVD drives, your computer may attempt to locate files on the wrong drive. If your computer has a feature to disable CD or DVD drives that are not used, turn off readers that you don't use. Otherwise, try to insert the disc in a different drive, and then restart the installation.

This is usually caused by hardware or software that is not compatible with Windows 7. If you have this problem, follow these steps:

Wait about 10 minutes to see if the installation continues. Look at the led on the hard drive (often a small light on your computer that blinks when your hard drive is running) to see if there is no activity. If your hard drive seems to be working, the installation must be current. If your hard disk doesn't seem to work, go to step 2.

Uninstall all antivirus software, and then restart your computer. Don't forget to enable antivirus software after you install Windows.

If the installation fails again, it may be a hardware incompatibility problem. Go to the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor on the Microsoft website to see if your computer can run Windows 7.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

If the computer still stops responding during Setup, contact your manufacturer computer or your retailer.

  • Just not upgraded for Windows 10, 7.1 Surround Sound no more functions

I use a Logitech G633 helmet, which is compatible with a 7.1 surround sound. Before moving to Windows 10, one worked perfectly well with Skype and my sound quality surround sound was crystal clear. After the upgrade to Windows 10, Skype does not use surround sound and instead, I'm treated with bad stereo audio.

Everything else on my computer always uses one surround sound, except Skype. This problem is only with Skype.

I tried to reinstall the Skype and Logitech software, with no result. I am at a loss for what to do and if I can't find a solution I'll down(up?) level to Windows 7.

I already tried to install a version of LGS that dates back all the way to March 2015, and it did not fix the problem. I was already using the latest software version when I was running Windows 7 and Skype worked fine with one surround sound with Win7.

  • How to prevent the automatic upgrade for Windows 10

Press reports say that Microsoft will 'soon' 10 Windows upgrade recommended for Windows 7, leading to the automatic download and installation.  I don't want that.  I have upgraded to Windows 10, then returned to 7 (leaving an extra 100 GB of something on my hard drive).  I intend to hold out until the last minute, and perhaps later.

So, how to prevent this scheduled automatic upgrade?  Do I have to turn off updates in Windows 7 and manually review every update?  What I read who cannot help because Microsoft does not offer as much detail about the upgrades as in the past.

Computers were a hobby for me in 1980.  After 35 years the computers are now a tool and their maintenance is a chore.  I'll learn Windows 10 when I need to and not before.  I really don't want to use 10 at home and at work 7.  When my employer upgraded, so I will.

    Hello DilbertFan,

For the first year that Windows 10 is out, he will be free to users with a license for Windows 7 or 8.1.

If you don't know that you do not want to update then please copy the text following that I have which is in italics below and paste it into Notepad.

The Publisher of the registry Windows Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Gwx]"DisableGwx"=dword:00000001

Once you have that then go ahead and save it to your desktop and save it under "block 10" or something like that. ""

Return to your desktop and locate this file and change the extension from .txt to .reg file

Save it, and then double-click the file. It is to modify the registry to block the upgrade of Windows 10. I use a lot.

Run a full scan of CHKDSK and SFC...

Click Start > all programs > Accessories

Right-click on the entry of the command line

Select run as administrator and accept the UAC - elevated command prompt window prompt should appear.

    At the command prompt, type

    CHKDSK C: /R

    and press the Enter key.

We'll tell you that the disc is locked,

and the CHKDSK will run the next time he started - press Y, press ENTER, and then restart.

The CHKDSK command will take a few hours depending on the size of the disk, so be patient!

Once executed, the command CHKDSK Windows should start normally (possibly after a second auto).

    Then, run the SFC.

  • Cost of upgrade for windows 8

It is actually a question of both parties. I just bought a desktop computer with windows 8 and found that I can't play or burn DVDs. It has been suggested to me that I had to upgrade to windows 8 pro, so I can get the windows media center. I found that upgrading to windows 8 pro, it will cost you $99.00 currently, but I was not able to know how much the center of the film windows cost. The cost does anyone know? With regard to the second part of this question: when I got windows 7, it came with windows media player. I often use to watch DVDs without problem and sometimes burn home made DVD I would do in windows live movie maker. import my DVD files to windows live movie maker has been possible as well. I can't do that with windows 8. So the question is: if I upgrade to windows 8 pro, and then get the windows media center, it will be possible to perform these tasks (to play DVD, burn DVDs and import to windows live movie maker)?  P.S. I am upward in age and had computer for about 3 years now, so I'm still not too familiar with the computer language. Thanks for you effort in this case.

  • HP Pavilion dm1 Notebook PC: no application upgrade for windows 10

I don't have the application of upgrade of windows 10. I also had problems with upgrading to windows 7, although it seems to have fixed itself.

MS showed no perceptible tendency on the plan which received the upgrade of Win10 application.  If you want to upgrade now, then use the tool of creation of media since the link and choose the option to upgrade the PC: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

But until you do that, you should seriously consider making an image backup of your PC - because the GoBack function is known to be unreliable.  Suggest using Macrium Reflect:

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup on an external drive
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full functional system of externally by car in a few minutes only.

Windows XP will 'end of life' in April 2014. This does not mean that it will stop working, just that Microsoft won't support it somehow later, which includes the updates of Windows. You will not even be able to get paid the support of Microsoft beyond the end of life date.

The inevitable consequence is that software and hardware vendors will stop to support also. This includes antivirus software vendors. As time passes after the end of life date, your PC will become still more vulnerable to malware, especially if connected to the internet.

This forum is not "Microsoft", a collection of people from all backgrounds (but mostly HE) who are willing to help people like you. While I sympathize with your financial situation, there is nothing that can be done on Microsoft's decision. Your only choices are to...

    • Get a PC with a version of Windows that is still supported (2nd hand to save money?)
    • Run the increasing risk of getting malware after end of life date
    • Disconnect from the internet in order to minimize the risk of getting malware

I have Photoshop 7.0 which is an upgrade since Photoshop 4.0.  It requires the installation of Photoshop 4.0 before installing Photoshop 7.0.  I recently got Windows 8.0 that will not install Photoshop 4.0 which is 32-bit.  How to install the Photoshop 7.0 upgrade?

normally when you install an upgrade on a computer that does not have the previous version installed, you will be prompted for the serial number of the previous versions.

These versions are so old (unless you mean photoshop elements), I don't know how it will work with these versions.
