Mac controller compatible Steam?

I have an iMac 5K. Been searching Amazon and a few machine games controller sites, but I see very very very little Mac compatible controllers. I'm also wanting something that isn't like PS3 or Xbox controllers. Something is better designed, because both cause my hands to cramp after a short period of use. I also work with steam.

Any suggestions?

don't know if it's too much like the xbox / controller ps but the steam we could work on steam, I guess that http://appleinsider.com/articles/15/10/18/first-look-steam-controller

    Careforapint, welcome to the forum.

According to the "software & driver downloads" page there is no Mac OS X drivers for the monitor.  For this reason, I don't think that it is compatible.  You can see in the menu dropdown.

  • PID controller compatible LabView

    Hi all

We have built an oven of automated test. It was decided that it is cheaper and more convenient to use a pre built the PID controller, however

our task is to set the temperature of the oven by using LabView code, so the PID should communicate with the computer.

I would be really grateful if you could give me a little advice if these controllers exist and where they are or it could be easier to use the box of DAQ + OR PID

box tools + with external power supply + heating element power transistor.

PS just to note, temperature range is not very high (20-200 ° C)

    All the best

    Alexander

    Hi Alexander,.

When you talk about PID controller, there are two options:

1 software based controller PID (you can develop using the LabVIEW PID toolkit)

    2. regulator based material PID... If you choose to have a PID of hardware in service, you must ensure that it can be used with LabVIEW, I know that what is your concern...!

For most of these PID regulators (hardware) are an instrument of series (RS-232, RS-485 or MODBUS based) and which can be easily integrated with LabVIEW... no tool is necessary, but all you need is VISA functions or MODBUS library.

  • This report on Mac/system hardware to display incorrectly

    Hi people!

I recently bought a used Macbook Pro 13, 2012 with the specs announced as i7 2.9 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD.  The seller showed specifications system via 'about this Mac' and 'System Report' and they came as above then I handed the money and went on my merry way. On their return, that I have updated to the most recent of the El Capitan - 10.11.4 version and after doing so the specifications changed to what I now believe to be the real specs of the machine - i5, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD - I have since confirmed this by checking the serial number on everymac.com and reset for diagnostics of material. So, I was wrong. Anyway, moving along - the system specifications are everywhere:

Note 3MB L3 cache, i7 should be 4 MB, of course. I just want to underline once again that when purchasing the specs above were all showing that you would expect from a MBP i7 13, 2012.

First of all, is this kind of thing in common with the Mac and how the filthy bastard does that - a notched kext with a description? Is it possible to fix without having to do a fresh install of Mac OS X? $ 1 million for any help thanks you girls and guys can give me. I could really do with him right now. Not what you could call a good introduction to the world of Macs.

< images edited by host to remove personal information >

Before purchasing a used computer, you must have run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, whichever is applicable.

The first thing to do after the acquisition of the computer is to wipe the internal drive and install a new copy of Mac OS X. You - not the original owner, must do. Changes made by Apple over the years have made this very complex seemingly simple task.

How would you do it depends on the model, and if you already have another Mac. If you are not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then, find the model on this page to see which version of the OS was initially installed.

It is dangerous and may be illegal to use a computer with software installed by a previous owner.

    1. If you do not have another Mac

    a. If the machine comes with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a Snow Leopard install disc (OS X 10.6) retail boxed and "Shrink Wrap" on the Apple Store or a reputable dealer - no eBay or something of the sort. If the machine is very old and has less than 1 GB of memory, you need to add in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory can take, according to the technical specifications.

    (b) if the machine comes with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that accompanies it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for a MacBook Air. You should have received the media of the original owner, but if you do not, order replacements from Apple. A disc at retail, or the gray discs of another model, will not work.

To start from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, and then restart the computer and hold the C key to start ringing. Release the button when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.

    c. If the machine comes with OS X 10.7 or later version, you don't need media. It should start in the mode of Recovery of the Internet when you hold down the key combination option-command-R to start ringing. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe. Note that Mac Pro models turn over end of 2014 (with the box of "cheese grater") cannot use Internet recovery, regardless of what version of OS they shipped with. The Mac Pro round (2014 or later) can use it.

    d. some models 2010-2011 comes with OS X 10.6 and received a firmware update after 10.7 was released, allowing them to use Internet recovery. If you have one of these models, you cannot reinstall 10.6 even from the original media, and recovery of the Internet won't work either without Apple ID of the original owner, in this case, contact Apple technical supportor take the machine to an Apple Retail Store or other authorized service provider to have an operating system installed.

    2. If you do not have another Mac

If you already have another Mac which has been upgraded in the App Store to the version of Mac OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use the recovery disk wizard to prepare a USB device, and then starts the new Mac of it by pressing the C key to start ringing. Alternatively, if you have a backup of OS X Time Machine 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a time Capsule or other network device), you can start by holding down the option key and clicking in the row of icons that is displayed. Note that if your other Mac has never updated in the App Store, you can not use this method.

3 partition and install OS X

a: If you see a lock screen trying to boot from the support installation or recovery mode, then a firmware password has been defined by the previous owner, or the machine was locked remotely via iCloud. You will need to either contact the owner or by the machine to an Apple Retail Store or other provider of service to be unlocked. May asked you proof of ownership.

    b. launch disk utility, and then select the internal drive icon - no volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a partition table GUID with the volume of data in Mac OS extended (journaled) format. This permanently deletes all existing data on the disk.

    c. an unusual problem can occur if all the following conditions apply:

OS X 10.7 or later version has been installed by the previous owner

The boot volume has been encrypted with FileVault

You start in recovery mode (that is, not of a 10.6 disk installation)

In this case, you will not be able to unlock the volume or partition the drive without the FileVault password. Ask for advice or see this discussion of the CSA.

    d. after partitioning, quit disk utility and run the OS X Installer. If you install a version of OS X was acquired from the App Store, you will need the Apple ID and password you used. When the installation is complete, the system reboots automatically in the Migration Wizard, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have all the data to be transferred, it is usually the best time to do it.

    e. run the software update and install all available Apple system updates. To upgrade to a major version of Mac OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can not keep an improved version that was installed by the first owner. He or she cannot legally transfer to you, and without the Apple ID, you will be able to update in a software update or reinstall, if it becomes necessary. Is the same for all App Store products that the previous owner installed, you will need to buy.

    4. other issues

    a. If the original owner "accepted" bundled iLife (iPhoto, iMovie and Garage Band) applications in the App Store so that he or she could put up-to-date, IRREVOCABLY linked to that Apple ID and you can download them without having to buy them. Reportedly, the Mac App Store Customer Service sometimes issued codes of reimbursement for these applications to second owners who asked.

    (b) if the previous owner has not Deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you will not be able to authorize immediately under your username. In this case, you will have either to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.

    c. When you try to create a new iCloud account, you could get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of life of three configurations by device iCloud account. Erasure of the unit does not reset the limit. You can always use iCloud account that was created on another device, but you will not be able to create a new. Contact iCloud Support for more information. Configuration limit does not apply to the Apple ID accounts used for other services, such as iTunes and Mac App Store or iMessage. You can create as many accounts you want.

  • 2013 mac os 64 GB Boot times per

I installed my Mac Pro 2013 to 64 GB memory.  When I turn now, it takes more than a minute for the apple logo to appear.  Once the apple logo appears, the rest of the startup procedure is very fast, and the system works perfectly.  I have a Quad Core 3.7 GHz Xeon E5.

    I used Mac Pro Compatible Crucial 1866GHz 16 GB x 4 modules.

    Has anyone else seen elsewhere?

Seems reasonable, since every time you start, the memory is tested.

I've noticed a substantial increase in startup time when I went from 16 > 32 GB in my MP 2103

  • Magic keyboard doesn't work don't perfectly with Mac-mini mid 2011

I am running the latest version of El Capitan (OS 10.11)

    The system version: OS X 10.11 (15A279b)
    Kernel version: Darwin 15.0.0
    Apple Bluetooth software: 4.4.0f4 16320

These correspond to the requirements of Magic Keyboard (Mac computer compatible Bluetooth with v10.11 OS X or later) according to Apple documentation official http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MLA22LL/A/magic-keyboard-us-english

If I followed the instructions to connect the keyboard up via Thunderbolt, the keyboard works partially. I can type via Bluetooth.

However, I can't use the volume buttons to control the sound. When I try to assign or reassign the buttons, I discovered that I can't 'see' the keyboard in Control Panel.

So, I find it very strange and of course disappointing. I can use Bluetooth, but not make the best use of the characteristics of the material. So sorry to say this, but it feels more like Linux where drivers regularly can make full use of the material and do not like Apple where it should all be integrated from top to bottom.

The ideas or support would be appreciated.

    Ray

PS I have the same problem with the new Magic Trackpad. So it's more than 200 euros for the minimum functions

If I followed the instructions to connect the keyboard up via Thunderbolt,

It be USB to lightning, Thunderbolt.

Check that this block is not checked. You can also try to check it out and then unchecking it.

PS You should also upgrade to the current version of El Capitan, 10.11.2, build 15 c 50. Updates cover a lot of previous bugs and problems. "15A279b" is not the latest version.
