Mac OS Yosemite on a Mac Pro (trash)

Greetings,

I wanted to know if it is still possible to install OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite on a current 2013 + Mac Pro (trash). I use Aperture on a MBP and am thinking about getting a second Mac that can run Aperture and also think end a bit of future proofing. Opening Vs 3.6 works very well in the Yosemite don't so want to upgrade the operating system.

Thank you.

Mac Pro (end 2013) original model shipped with OS X 10.9 Mavericks. It can work as no more versions improved since then, including Yosemite & El Capitan. However, you will not find a download of Yosemite to the App Store because it is no longer available... unless you bought / downloaded previously.

You can find this useful article in Macworld .

my mac pro (trash) is a wonderful device. Lately, however, it does not recognize a keyboard plugged in USB to start.

I am at a loss to explain it. I need help.  Advice, anecdotes, guess wild welcome.

    my setup is like this:

    CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT

    Monitor 27 "Apple (hub)

    Extended keyboard Apple USB

USB hub (USB2, apparently, that was not what I paid for)

    Wacom Tablet

Logitec mouse (no driver installed, Logitech *, but the mouse is great he is 15 years old)

    charger for Iphone

    beats headphones cable

    iMic USB audio

The question seems to have started just after I took my computer to the site, when that happens, I use a keyboard and bluetooth mouse. I immediately told my mac to forget the keyboard and the mouse after bringing it back to the House. didn't let it go, there is no moments where he had 'speed' of any kind. Always moves in a bag built to waterfield.

Based on my experience, your extended keyboard usb from Apple is the oldest plastic or the most recent aluminium? Based on which you have a branch above Apple usb extension cable. Anyway look at the end of the cable usb and it is most likely has that match unusual for her, this little triangle. It can fit on the Mac Pro USB, but can be a little bit loose as an adjustment. If you use a newer Apple usb extension on the older plastic Apple usb keyboard, this isn't a good fit. If you use the old extension of usb Apple on the most recent alum Apple keyboard, which is not a good fit.

So low line trying to look at the adjustment of the end of the usb in the Mac Pro or hub or ver, you connect to. I got this problem which caused two problems: I was using the older usb Apple with the new Apple alum keyboard extension cable.

    1. frequently the keyboard did not react, looked dead

2 - beta install for starting seeds would start on the hard drive to complete the installation.

Given that I have "corrected" the usb extension appropriate keyboard usb Apple alum both problems went away.

  • Freezing / sluggish: Logic Pro 9. Mac Pro; Yosemite

As the title suggests, I am experiencing sluggish controls and performance in reading with Logic Pro.  My specs are:

Mac Pro (round) mid-2010; 2.8 GHz Quad Core (Intel); 12 GB OF RAM

    10.10.5 Yosemite

    Logic Pro 9.1.8

Everything is apparently fine with the performance, however, I randomly and almost inevitably experience the app 'snap '.

Never quite completely, it freezes, will get rather unresponsive in functions such as when I'm in the reading, he will just continue to play while any activated button will be delayed for a few seconds until the number of seconds before he answers.  This does not happen with the launch at the beginning of a session and a cool app, but wire time, it will be unless I have close / restart the application.

I recently created a new installation of Yosemite on his own internal drive - using a stock of Apple HD (Western Digital, Black Label, 1 TB, 7200 RPM)

The only thing installed on the OS drive is Logic Pro and a few plug-ins.  I watch performance monitors, nothing appears close to overload (this is both logic and Universal Audio monitors CPU usage).  My sessions are not complicated: consist on average of about 4-5 stereo Audio tracks / track Instrument 1-2 / 2-4 Bus titles.  Plug-ins averaged around 2-4 per track.

I use a writing another drive internal (2 TB) and save the files of session while recording / mixing.  My plan was to spend the end sessions at the coast by car after completing their but I suspect that it is the source of performance problems.

My question is, I'm pretty committed to get an upgrade of RAM max (32 GB for my system).  I hope that this will add enough buffer space to avoid blockages in the performance.

    • It is, 12 GB sound like a stretch to try to run the logic without any problems?

    • Would a 32 GB upgrade be important?

    • Logic Pro (9) have known problems with hang up and becomes unresponsive / slow over a period of time with a running period session continues?

    • Any other use?

    • Is it I better off working on and recording of current session to the local operating system drive rather than another drive?

In fact... I think you will find that much of this is related to graphics performance. Are you running one of the EQS of channel mode Analyzer, medium or hi res? This will certainly lead to delays, even if they are not displayed. Logic 9 graphics routines is quite old and showing their age with newer operating systems. Using a dual monitor system (display)?

Yesterday, I downloaded the upgrade to El Capitan in a Mac Pro (early 2008) running Yosemite 10.10.5, and today I can not start the upgrade.

The only option I have found is to click again on the download button, but the circle of download rest bike for a long time and ultimately that nothing happens.

    See if that helps...

Start with CMD + r or the Option/alt key to boot from the recovery partition & use utility disk from there to repair the disk, and then repair permissions.

  • Mac Pro, mid-2010 of yosemite running very slow

My mid 2010 Mac Pro, 10 GB, 2 TB HD, now walk very slowly (especially Office 2011) with Yosemite 'upgrade '. I then 'improved' once again to El captain in the hope could speed things up. Some are hoping, if anything my Mac fast now seems heavily sedated and works even more slowly. I have de-fragd and optimized. I thought to buy a 500 GB SSd for use as a boot drive and hold the software. Any other ideas? Thank you

What is the destination folder that the date be underneath?  In the top right it says users who suggests, you try to put the photos on top of your username instead of under your username.  Maybe that's the problem.  So change your folder in the drop-down list at the bottom right of what it should be rather than users, and if you're going to show us the destination of your photos at least scroll through the list of folders down right so that we can see which is the white highlight.

Here is how mine looks like if I want to put my photos imported under my subfolder users - Steve - photos by date:

(This XML file doesn't have any information of style associated with it.)

    System > library > Caches > com.apple.kext.caches > start

The items in the folder top level system are protected.

Do not attempt to directly remove or change anything in the system of higher level folder.

If you delete these files, your Mac is likely to ever be reactivated.

If you want to regenerate starting kext caches, restart your computer in safe mode (your username and password will be required), and then restart in normal Mode and caches will be rebuilt at the time (your startup will take a little longer because of this).

  • Using SDS Macbook Pro under Mac Pro

I recently installed a new OS (Yosemite) and several audio programs / music I use in my studio on a new SSD in my laptop - Macbook Pro - I'm not sure I'll keep.

I have a Mac Pro 2012 Tower.  Can use the SSD of the Macbook Pro (or a clone of it) in the Mac Pro saves a lot of installation time and download of updates for all my audio programs?

I searched a few days if an SSD (or clone) of a Macbook can be used in a Mac Pro Tower.

Thanks in advance for your kind answers.

Yes, it will work in the Mac Pro Tower-silver. To use it you need to an adoptive parent or a sled like this

  • No sound optical input on Mac Pro

I'm working on some problems with my optical sound system, and I have a recorder DAT Sony outlet in my Mac Pro, Late 2010 5.1 Sierra running. I bring the signal of the DAT, via an optical cable in the Mac - I get a visual cue on the sound preferences - but not his actual computer, any output, I try: internal spkrs, Line out, Digital out, bar his monitor, or Bluetooth headset. That is what it is? I trashed preferences sound and zap the PRAM. No change.

Hmm... It is of course odd. If you hold down the option key and click on the speaker at the top of the screen icon, you should see a list of all the available audio inputs and outputs, you can also find it under system preferences > sound

other this, try to pull the Audio high noon and see what she has set, sometimes, strangely enough, IT Gets the value to something weird like 96 khz or line output, or some of these.  except that, depending on the application you are using, you may need to edit the record source and to ensure that play through is committed. your device should appear if all goes well. I think it must be configured as 44 kHz or 48 khz

Sorry I can't be more helpful
