  Nothing worked until I managed to speak directly to Adobe support. They recommended to install the latest version of Camera Raw Installer 8.6. It has not helped to open NEF files immediately but he fixed an error of 6.7 'update failed' updated Camera Raw! After updating to 6.7 all goes well, see my d800 naves. Cheers, Sergey

  the mark ii has cr 8.7 or better and ps cs5 can not be updated beyond cr 6.7.

  your options are to continue to use the dng converter or upgrade ps (cs6 or better).

I now get a message that I need to update Camera Raw in LR6, when I send a photo to CS6 for further editing, but when I look at the updates I'm not finding this one, nor any other updates are needed for my software.   The latest version of Camera Raw compatible with Photoshop CS6 is Camera Raw 9.1.1. There will be no updates available for Photoshop CS6. This message tells you that Lightroom has additional changes that your version of Camera Raw is perhaps not able to interpret when you send an image from Lightroom to Photoshop. You are given the choice. You can open the image in any case, or you can let Lightroom create a copy that includes all adjustments of Lightroom and send this copy to Photoshop. In most cases, you want to make the second choice. When this warning message is displayed, I think that there is a checkbox to indicate not not to show it again. The only way that you can solve the problem would be to upgrade to Photoshop CC 2015. If not, simply select the option to edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments.

  OK, so you must be at least Camera Raw installed 7.3.

  Then the necessary creative cloud office updated Photoshop, AfterEfect and bridge. After all updated message does not show yet.

  Quite understand that Adobe has not yet a Camera RAW update for the new 5 d Mark IV. Anyone have an idea how long on average it takes to make the point to occur? Need the software Digital Photo Professional of Canon for the time being to convert the RAW files to TIFF, which takes a lot of time and feeds on hard drive space. Thank you!

  Normally, I shoot with the 7dmarki and have never had any problems.  After troubleshooting my error message 'cannot open IMG1111 because it's the wrong file type', only the options have been updated plugin raw from the camera, to buy the latest version or uninstall and reinstall.  First train to the plugin to update because it was a leased device.  Thanks again!

  Thanks MichelBParis!  I didn't see where he said to 12 items.  I downloaded the free DNG Converter last night and not had much luck.  It is not recognizing that I have all files in the folder at all.  Don't know what I'm doing wrong!

  This camera requires Camera Raw 6.7. I don't know where you would have picked up Camera Raw 3.0. It is only compatible with Photoshop CS2. If you go to help-> updates in the Photoshop menu, is there anything available for you?

  Nikon D7200 files would not be supported in version CS5.

  You can either upgrade to CS6 or CC version to get the latest version of Camera Raw, or you can install the free DNG Converter to convert your raw files to DNG and access then in Photoshop CS5.
