  iCloud drive holds shadow copies of all the files on your Mac so you can always access your documents, even in offline mode. It is supposed to keep your documents synced to your devices, not as only an off-site storage to save space on the mac.

  You can't stop the shadow - on iCloud drive all files will be downloaded to your Mac, if you enable iCloud drive.

  If you want to iCloud drive as an external storage without the shadow, don't turn on your Mac, but only use the web interface at www.iCloud.com to download and view the documents there. But then you will not be able to see iCloud drive as a drive in the Finder.

It can record data in iCloud drive (if you saved it specifically to this place) and can synchronize Photos, Contacts, etc to iCloud if you had set it to do.   MobileMe was discontinued on June 30, 2012.  There is no more MobileMe e-mail.  Go to the preferences panel accounts Mail and remove any MobileMe account which is there.  That should get rid of these messages.

  If you use iCloud for everything, that is to say, contacts, calendar, photos, etc., then you probably need not really Revel. If you are looking for a service that allows you to store unlimited videos and pictures, edit them, synchronize them, create albums to group with your friends and your family, then Revel is an excellent choice. Revel works with Mac, Win 8.1, iPhone/iPad and Android.

  But, as I said above, if you already use iCloud for storing your photos and you are happy with it, I would say that, in truth, you do not need to Revel, too.
