  I wonder what is happening to my macbook pro.

  symptoms: suddenly stopped last week when I was watching a movie. Note that the fans were noisy given that the weather was warm and the hot computer as well. Now it starts but won't go to the part of connection. It shows a greenish screen with weird block lines. Please see the pictures attached.

  Looks like it could be the graphics card.

  I tried to clear the NVRAM, boot in safe mode and reinstall in wifi, but that did not help

  Use the Installation of Snow Leopard original CD and see if you can access disk utility and run first aid on the HARD drive.

  You will find your original download in the purchase page of the App Store. Will need you about 20 GB to download and install El Capitan.   The progress bar from the left end at the beginning of the commissioning indicates that your drive has been so damaged, it could not be mounted. Five minutes of progress bar is shown as it does the equivalent of disk utility (ERD [Directory]). If you have reinstalled several times and the problem is not fixed, your drive is in solid form.

  There is probably something wrong with it, otherwise the system would not report it. Two hours is remarkably short for a good work of this model battery. And besides: battery fault may start to swell and cause serious damage to your Macbook. I don't think not twice before replacing a battery of 5 years.

  MacBook Pro repair for graphics issues outreach program

• Mac mini mid-2011 show AMD radeon 6630 m

  I got a used mac mini. Works fine except; randomly breaks the display.  After countless times of restart, reset, hard reset etc, I found reconnect the HDMI cable kind of fix it.

  The display is Samsung s27d360

  I tried HDMI to HDMI, HDMI-Thunderbolt, VGA to lightning. So far, best seems to be HDMI-HDMI cable.

  I ran a complete test of the material (by pressing D on startup), no problems were detected.

  The monitor works fine with a cable on Macbook air 2012 configuration

  I got this blue screen after reboot before the login screen

  I also had once after the login screen

  I randomly get screen dividing / break in two

  Randomly get the grey screen with vertical bars (no pink or green bars)

  What is the monitor? Cables? (They are not original Apple) Firmware? GPU? I really want to continue to use it.

  I hope that someone had similar problems and was able to simply fix in an update of the firmware or display setting or a cable or something. Help please.

The good news is that the following steps will be useful for your problem of not being able to install the macOS Sierra update and get your Mac Mini is working again!

  Try running first emergency tool on your hard disk with the built in disk utility, allowing to correct simple issues that you are experiencing. Restart your Mac Mini and then try to install again.

  For Mac disk utility: repair a disk using disk utility
  How to turn on or off your Mac

  Use SafeMode to start up your Mac so that it performs certain checks, remove files from the system cache, check your startup disk and trying to fix problems directory if necessary. Sign in to your account in safe mode and try to reinstall.

  Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning
  Graphics performance limited in recovery of OS X or in safe mode

  Hi, I have an iMac mid-2011 with 1 TB of hard drive and I'll install a SSD 1 TB as a second drive. I think I will clone the HD on the SSD with Carbon Copy Cloner. My question is: can do the clone operation after installing the SSD inside the iMac to speed up the process or I clone the HD before the opening of the iMac with the SSD connected via USB? I have only USB 2.0, I think is going to be very slow in this way... Thank you, Francesco

  Install the internal SSD if that's your plan. Start the computer from the HARD disk, and then use disk utility to partition and format the SSD drive as follows:

  Clone El Capitan on a new disc

  1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime, press Command - R until the Apple logo and progress bar appear.
  2. When the Utility Menu appears, select disk utility and click on the continue button.
  3. When disk utility loads select the SSD (generally, the entry Out-bumpy) in the list aside.
  4. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility. A panel will fall.
  5. Set the GUID partition scheme.
  6. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
  7. Click on the apply button, then click the fact when it is active.
  8. Select the new SSD, then select restore in the menu editing of disk utility.
  9. In the drop-down menu select the volume that you want to clone - your HARD drive.
  10. Click the apply button to start the process.

  This can take some time depending on the amount of data is transferred. Disk utility also automatically clones Recovery HD from the HDD to the SSD.
