  Check if the problem persists in safe mode. If the problem persists not in safe mode and check if the problem persists in the boot.

  Step 1: Safe Mode

  Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

  I have a MacBook Pro 17 "late 2011, 2.4 Ghz, 16 GB RAM with OS X El Capitan installed, the latest version with all the updates." The computer turns off by itself after about 15-30 minutes if I leave it like that on the gray black screen.

  I can't start in safe mode or recovery mode.

  I CAN only boot single user mode, Apple Hardware Test mode, the boot (by holding the ALT/OPTION key) Manager and verbose mode.   If I'm running into a bit of a problem. I had an older macbook pro (mid - 09), kept just upgraded HARD drive I had before I sold it. On this HARD drive, it has a partition Mac OS 10.8, and a boot camp windows partition 7. Now that I have my new Macbook Pro (mid-12), with an impressive but small SSD, I tried to start the windows partition via external enclosure. Im running in some points once I selected the bootcamp on the HARD drive partition. It tries to open windows, but I get the error "Windows failed to Start. Kind of stuck here, seeing that I won't try to Exchange hard disks for obvious reasons. Y at - there a fix, or any way around it?

  After reading your post, my understanding of the issue is that you are unable to start in Normal Mode and as such, cannot be online within Mode safe mode with networking.

  Because we can start in Mode safe mode with networking, this tells us that a driver or a program from loading at startup may cause the problem.  To solve this, I would try a clean boot.

  You can try this:

  Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

   

   

  Restore point:

  Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

  Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

  Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

• Nc6400 with Windows 7 does not start

  I have a laptop running Windows 7 NC6400.  Everything works fine when stopped Sunday night.  On commissioning Monday night... nothing.  Power light on but nothing else.  No MESSAGE, no disc HARD, DVD No. activity just a white screen.

  I can't test the RAM (2 GB) as no source of spare parts.  I deleted and fed up to see if no beep code to be published, but none - not sure it should.

  HDD OK.  I removed and put in the USB caddy and tested on the desktop.  No problem of seen and read.  All the files intact.

  I am sure that I stopped in standard mode as it could be interpreted that it is prolonged sleep/standby mode and it won't wake him.

  Appreciate the advice as what to do next.  Is RAM faulty or worse; motherboard?
