MacbookPro 2012

Does anyone know the technical requirements for the upgrade to El Capitan?

If you talk about Mac supported, you have the list in Apple's site-> http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/#hardware-requirements

Can anyone confirm that square-end 85w, for example as expected with MacBook Air, a connector can be used for a MacBookPro 13 "beginning 2012? I hate the 60w L-shape connector which was published with this laptop. Power cable from my previous small white MacBook had the square-end connector and it worked GREAT. The L one shape is difficult to reach, and it does NOT have quick disconnects if someone tripping over the power cord. Thank you.

Is that what I can do on the Mac or the screen?

Check the calbe hdmi adapter. It might be a version that allows no more than 1080 p.

Thank you for sharing the details of your browser, that appear to the right of your message in Question details > Details of the system more. If you check your extensions, you can see that you're infected with "Searchme" and you must delete it.

Open the page modules using either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the side right, remove or disable Searchme. Keep in mind that all extensions are optional and none is included with Firefox when you get it first.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Is that what helps you regain control?

This could be the tip of an iceberg of malware. When you install free software, you often get the options grouped under silence. I don't know the best way to 'clean up' a Mac of these elements, but you may want to consider the issue.

  • Is there a better way to uninstall applications, etc. ?

I would like to uninstall some applications. I also want to get rid of the duplicated files and old unused files and preferences, etc. in order to free hard disk space.

I am travelling abroad for a few years and often do not have access to enough download speed internet to do much in the way of rapid cloud storage.

In years past, at work, I used several applications 3rd party to do some of these tasks. Through a post here today, it seems that many knowledgeable users say to save my money.

Also, I used used TechToolPro to keep my directories and files-shaped structures. Is there something else that will do it for me? I even need to?

I have a MacBookPro 2012, running 10.10.4.  I have a 500 GB SSD in the machine, and I use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a weekly backup to an external HD.

I would like to uninstall some applications.

    There are two cases:

    (1) all that is installed by "drag and drop" can only be uninstalled by dragging it to the trash and drop.

    (2) everything that used a Setup program to install, needs the installer by the manufacturer to uninstall UN program. Alone, he knows where his files have been placed. This is sometimes left in a conspicuous place, but sometimes you gotta re - download and start the installation program until the Option appears.

  • How the practice is to use iCloud for storage with a new MacBook Air documents

I currently have almost 500gig in documents on my macbookpro 2012.  Thinking of getting a new MacBook Air. For storage, I need to iCloud or a external hard drive. Don't want to carry a second piece of equipment, so I think almost any movement to the cloud. It's convenient.  Safe?

Simply store your 500 GB of documents in iCloud is a space-saving convenience and sharing between or on your Mac (s). It is not a backup strategy because Apple does not archive the user data stored in iCloud. External, 2 TB USB3 drive will fit in the Palm of your hand, weighs almost nothing and ensures that Time Machine is to backup your user data wherever you are. It is the solution that I use with my MacBook Air to 2014, even when sitting in a coffee shop (and using VPN for security). Time Machine also captures Users/yourname/Library/Mobile Documents, which is your application compatible iCloud files and documents.

As well as a Time Machine backup of this 500 GB of documents, I would like to put them on another external drive that goes on the plateau to ensure the guard. Sometimes external drives completely fail without warning, including two Time Machine disks that happened to me over the past four years.

If you choose to use another non-Apple Cloud service, read the fine print on this autonomy of providers to transfer data between international servers, and your rights under foreign laws and safety distance will always give you access to your data.

I tried as well to use the tips in this community, with the removal of the ibook-cookies etc., unfortunately without success.

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

    Step 1

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest by connecting to the iBooks store with your ID usual. Same problem?

After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

    * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

    Step 2

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is caused by changes in the system of third party that load automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Please take this step regardless of the results of step 1.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Corrupted sequence

I have a project I've been working on for months. For some reason, she is corrupt, I can open it but cannot export anything without having some weird breaks/colors/lines in the video. I'm on a MacbookPro 2012 of the retina with 8gigs of ram. 10.8.3 version (intended to upgrade to 10.10 after this project) and 2014 (pas.2) version of Premiere Pro. The project is composed of my DSLR from nikon d5200 .mov files. I did have a problem with premiere pro like that. Can anyone help? I tried to copy the movie to a new sequence, screw up my preferences. I exported before a close finished version in format .mp4 with no problems. Should I upgrade to the first pro version.2? I need this project finished this week for a client and I'm racking my brain trying to figure what is happening.

Liquidation of import of my sequence in a new project and rendering parameters changed cl open to the other option. From there, I was able to finish the edit export and successfully. Still do not know why this has happened. Should I update my graphics driver on my mbpr and update for Premiere Pro 2014.2?

    Hello Leonidas,

Please quit all applications adobe first, if they are open.

Go to Applications in the 'Go' option on your mac and you will see files created for your installed applications from Adobe.

You can run the uninstall from there and uninstall program.

If you don't see any uninstall program and then everything simply drag the application folder or icon to the trash.
