MacMini end 2009 dp ++?

I received a MacMini used end 2009 from a friend and would like to connect to a monitor Eizo EV2750 (2560 x 1440). I checked the MacMini works on the screen at full resolution using an minidp to dp cable.

The displayport on the monitor is taken by my Windows PC for reasons beyond my control, if I need to connect the MacMini via a dp DualDVI adapter.

The MacMini has a measure minidp dp ++ that would allow me to use a passive adapter or do I need an active adapter?

When you use a mini displayport > active adapter DVI an adopter is required if you want a resolution higher than 1920 x 1200.

  • Replace hard drive SSD on end 2009 27 "iMac

    end 2009 27 "imac

    OS X 10.11.3

3.06 GHz intel Core 2 Duo

    4 GB memory

According to the genius bar, the Seagate 1 TB hard drive on my end 2009 27 "iMac is a failure.  They told me that they do not have the parts to replace and suggest I do myself or take it to Best Buy.  Best Buy said that they are unable to do so I can't to try it myself.  I read and watched directions to ifixit and several other sites.  I am convinced that I have the skills to do the replacement, but I'm less confident about the purchase of equipment:

    (1) Ifixit say I should use a Seagate drive to replace the Seagate drive I have.  Engineering made no mention of this.

    (2) engineering suggested I buy a Crucial BX200 480 GB SATA 6 GB/s 7 mm (with 9.5 mm adapter) 2.5 "disk flash internal SSD (part #CT7414188).  The essential site says I need part CTSSDCONVT a 2.5 "to 3.5" SATA SSD/HHD converter for 2006-2012 MacPro.  They suggest that it will work in my iMac as well.  Articles and discussions have referenced problems with noise from the fan and order and mention with fixes software and manual control of the speed of the fans.  When I mentioned questions fan of genius, he said not to worry about this, and the Crucial site makes no mention of him either.  The SSD costs $129,99 and converter $ 21,50 for a total of $151,49.

    (3) OWC offers aDIY Bundle which includes a 480 Electra of mercury GB 3 G SSD, newer technology AdaptaDrive to allow installation of the 2.5 "SSD and a digital probe online that eliminates the noise of the fan and maintains control of the correct system fan through management for the iMac system controller.  The package costs $199,75.

Bundle OWC seems like a good deal but it seems to me that SSD Crucial works to 6 GB/s and the Electra of mercury to 3 Gbps.  If I go through the replacement, it seems more sensible to get the 6 GB/s.

I wonder if I can mix and match and use the Crucial SSD with the Adaptadrive of more recent technology and digital sensor OWC.

Any suggestions from anyone who has done this replacement would be appreciated.

2009 iMacs have SATA 2 - meant 3Gbps rate.  It does not matter if you use 2 SATA and SATA 3 - you get only speed SATA 2.

Second - the adapter for 2.5 to 3 5 - don't hang a lot of money on this,-l'ebay has many choices.

My personal experience, support 'intel' works best - since it is the length, so the seat fits much better.

Yes, you can mix and match - choose what might suit you best.

For me, I had Apple OEM SSD (Samsung doing this - 256 GB, SATA 3) with intel on iMac 2011 (SATA 3 speed), with support from OWC thermal line sensor.

Samsung 830 (256 GB and SATA 3) on iMac 2010 (SATA 2 speed), with support from Intel, with OWC thermal line sensor.

Note: the probe heat 2010 and 2011 are different.

    Good luck.

  • WD My Passport Ultra 2 TB not mounting end 2009 Macbook running Yosemite

I have a MacBook 2009 end I want to back up. I already have two former WD and Seagate external hard drives that work fine. However, I just bought WD My Passport Ultra 2 TB in February 2016 and it will not be mounted more than 15 seconds. It's the third external hard drive that I tried last year and I just get so frustrated that I have to return them. But I really need to back up my files!

My Mac features: 13-inch late 2009, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Memory running Yosemite 10.10.5

It remains not up long enough for me to format for Mac. Help, please.

WD made great bare records, but their cases are often hostile Mac regardless of the hype on the box. Please see my comments in this thread:

WD My Passport for Mac is not recognized

The other poster was trying to retrieve items on the disk, so a delete/reformat was not an option for him. However, WD boxes are often better if they are are erased and reformatted for Mac. WD has an odd of industrial property on the reader that they stick in their enclosure which can cause formatting problems. Their speakers are often working very well after reformatting the drive inside.

After struggling with a number of external hard drives 'brand', I now use only those that are sold by Other World Computing:

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/hard-drives/external-enclosures

They may cost more that those who will be on sale every weekend in the supermarkets of office, but, when I wonder what's worth my data, the cost of the OWC speakers seems quite affordable. We have them on every Mac we have and none have shown bad behavior.

  • Mini DisplayPort did not end-2009 iMac

  • Studio XPS 8000 (end 2009) + EVGA GTX 750 Ti, wake-up service by default/black screen saver (S3)

My Studio XPS 8000 (end of 2009) has no problem with sleep (S3) and wake up before I upgraded the Dell OEM Geforce GTX 260 arrives with the EVGA Geforce GTX 750 Ti system.

At present, the system has no question to go to sleep mode, however, when I try to wake the system by pressing power button/keyboard/mouse, System stucks after I hear the disc hard turns noise, and the screen stays black (no signal), then the system hangs there forever. I have to turn off the system and restart.

Other than / Eve black screen, the system works without any problem.

I upgrade the firmware MB(0X231R, intel P55) A03 BIOS, make sure also that I use the latest version of the driver for the gtx 750 ti (344.75 WHQL). Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. Still no luck.

750Ti GTX are supposed to use much less energy than the GTX 260. Is not the issue of power supply. On some forums, I found people say X 58 (not P55, but maybe the same reason) mainboard a sleep problem with latest Nvidia cards, because of the interactions between the BIOS and the operating system. The problem, to a patch of BIOS. XPS8000 being 5 years old, I don't think not that it will receive an update of the BIOS.

I wonder if there is a solution to this problem?

    Thank you.

Update: the issue has been raised again.

I need to talk with Nvidia support agents, and they helped.

The next step fixed my problem:

And further to isolate the problem, remove the graphic driver NVIDIA completely and start the cmputer only with generic driver checking windows if she still has the issue.

Use the display driver UN-Installer (DDU) and remove the NVIDIA files.

Display of the Nations United-for driver installation (DDU): http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/

-Restart the computer and when it restarts windows will install the default display driver, let it install.

Once installed the default driver, please check the functionality of the PC.

The critical step is to use DDU to completely remove in safe mode video card driver!

Thank you and very grateful for any input...

You seem to be dealing with a hardware failure.

Do a 'genius' one appointment at an Apple Store, or select another authorized service provider. You may need to leave the machine there for several days.

Back up the data on the internal disks before you turn on your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional - ask if you need advice.

If privacy is a concern, delete the partitions of data with the ability to write zeros * (do it only if you have at least two backups complete, independent, and you know how to restore on a blank disc from any one of them.) Do not delete the recovery partition, if it is present.

Keep your confidential data safe during the repair of the equipment

  • Problems with the Display Mode target on end 2009 27 "iMac

Used late 2009 iMac 27 "in the view target in conjunction with a Dell XPS tower with i7 processor, Windows 7 and the best graphics card I could afford at the time connected by HDMI to mini display port cable.  Worked well for years.  Set aside Dell for a few months and the update of the iMac to El Capitan OS 10.11.3.  Recently tried old setup with same Dell PC and was able to move from Mac to PC, but the PC screen resolution was at the lowest setting. I got an error message when enabling/disabling to PC who said there was a problem with the port causing mini display of the system back to the lowest resolution. Impossible to reset at a higher resolution.

I tested the Dell PC on another monitor, and it works very well at higher resolution (2560 X 1440). Now, when I reconnected it to the iMac (which works fine), the screen becomes black.

Is it possible that the operating system upgraded (El Capitan) is not compatible with the targets using mini display port Display Mode?  Any ideas?

Use your iMac as a display with the target - Apple Support Display Mode , also consider having a bad cable or connection. Does not hurt to try different cables, they can and will the bad!

I have a late 2009 27 "iMac (Intel Core i5) and an Officejet 6310, connected via ethernet. I also have an iMac Core 2 Duo oldest on the same network that the 6310 works perfectly with. The iMac 27 "will not simply see the 6310. I installed the latest drivers Apple HO, I have reset the printing system in the printing preferences panel & Telec. In the P & F pref panel, I tried to install the printer using all 3 protocols (Line Printer Daemon - LPD, Internet Printing Protocol - IPP and HP Jetdirect Socket), I plug the verified address of PPI, I selected the generic Postscript printer and the HP 6300 series drivers and nothing works. When I run the HP utility, I get a message "192.168.1.104 is currently unavailable...". ».  When I try to print, the printer status box returns a message "host 192.168.1.104 network is busy, try again in 15 seconds".

What is happening here? Thanks in advance.

OK, now I feel really dense. I plug the wrong IP address. Is is possible that this change? Could have sworn that I had it right. In any case, I print now, thank you for your time.

  • + 2 hours to install and update Adobe Exchange?

    Hello

MacMini end 2009, OS X 10.9.4, 6 GB of RAM

Adobe InDesign CC2014 - up to date

I was looking for a 3rd party to extension/app for InDesign to number of words a project in Indesign. Therefore, I went to: window - Extensions - Adobe Exchange. When I click on he said that updates are available. I let the program to download and install the updates that have been assuming at: update containing the latest enhancements and bugfixes.

It takes 2 + hours and it's always something I have no idea what. Is this normal?

    Screenshot 2014-08-05 10.48.42.png

Is there another way to update the Adobe Exchange website? Am I missing something? Was something else need to be installed to work properly?

    All information, enjoy.

    Kind regards

In InDesign, CC 2014 Adobe Exchange has been replaced with the modules that are available by choosing window > Browse Add-ons. Rather than consider the modules in a Panel, you will take the from a creative Cloud browser interface. This is true for other applications of 2014 CC as well.

  • The file is not compatible with InDesign (error code: 14)

    Hello

I'm on OS X 10.8.2, MacMini end 2009, 6 GB RAM, 190 GB OS Partition with 89 GB free, Adobe InDesign CS6. InDesign is authentic, it is licensed to cloud.

I get this error for any file I am trying to open. Although files each time I remove recovery of InDesign, InDesign opens, but when I try to open any file I get this error.

Initially, I tried to open document library. Looks like I get this errors whenever a ddocument has a library to him atttached. Creating problems?

    Any solution?

    Kind regards

    Sebastian

We will try other minor surgery.

Close ID (I know, it is already closed).

    Trash the prefs.

    Bin data recovery.

Recycle Bin, the files listed here: Forums Adobe: InDesign crashes at startup

Trash ALL the files. XML 'Current' working space in your library user in the folder of the workspace. You can leave the base files. Simply remove the current configuration of those that they can refer to the missing library.

Temporarily remove the FontXplorer of ID plugin.

    Try to open the code.

If it works, close and move the plugin back, and then try again.

If you still have problems, see Troubleshooting fonts | Mac OS X

It is possible that the stuff of office has done some damage to ID, too. If all else fails, uninstall, run the clean tool (CS for installation problems cleaning tool |) CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) and reinstall and update the ID again.
