  Thank you. Last time I looked into things with the description "Cloud", it seemed to me that you either need to be logged to the software work (possibly validate the rental date?) and/or your content of current things was 'in the cloud '.

  While I don't like the rental model, if I can make it work offline that may be an option.

  I'm reinstalling CS3 Web Standard after a hard disk crash. I have my serial number, but after entering, it does a check of upgrade, and at the time wherever I upgraded I also did a single switch from Mac to PC - so my product calling (Studio MX Mac) has a serial number starting with "WSM600"... ", while the upgrade check won't accept - Studio MX Mac is not yet available as an option. This happened once before and I had to work with a representative by phone (I had to click in a hidden part of one of the activation screens to get a number, if I remember correctly), but apparently Adobe that does more. And the page of "www.adobe.com/go/activiation" the phone message directs you to doesn't seem to have an option for this problem either.

  So, what is the replacement or her work around this problem now?

  Almost certainly not. Probably you will not get an answer that any more specific that one - few people will remember even MX much less tried to install the old software on 8 to win.

• Problem activating Macromedia Studio MX 2004

  Can someone tell me how to turn on Studio MX 2004? I've had this software for years and now I have a new computer and I need to continue to use it. I realize that it is old software, but it meets my needs and I have no interest in more bells and whistles and learning of newer versions. Support (chat and telephone) were no help at all - I guess that's because the software is earlier than Adobe's Macromedia acquisition. There must be a way to continue to use the software that I bought? (Which incidentally does not on Windows 7).

  You must login to get (no need activation) universal serial numbers and download links.

  Personally, I consider getting the latest versions (on subscription but worth it) that it creates standards compliant code that is supported by the most recent browsers including Internet Explorer and Firefox.
