Mail disappeared

Hello everyone. I need your help because I tried to use all the means I have raised on the web and I have had no results. I used especially this: https://www.mozilla-hispano.org/documentacion/Recuperar_mensajes_borradosand others in English, too.

The point is this: I have a Gmail account set up in IMAP to delete messages from the server. Last Monday I started to organize all my messages into folders and, in the night, I decided to remove the Gmail folder named "All messages" ("Todos" in Spanish) where, in my view, the messages were repeated. I think it was a mistake: the mails even disappeared from the trash. I have the original files in the my Thunderbird profile folder: the total size of this file is approximately 1.5 GB. I wish someone would give me a solution, because many, I searched the internet and I have not found any solution to my problem. If you need more information, I'll give you what you need. Thank you guys.

Hello Matt. Thanks for helping me. Fortunately, I could solve the problem yesterday; I turned on my PC to write the solution as I saw your response. I did a clean install of Thunderbird, erasing the files located in C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Thunderbird and C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming (I think that's not necessary) and I put my e-mail files (for example: RECEPTION + INBOX.msf box) in files C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\MYPROFILE.default\Mail\Local. After this, e-mail records showed perfectly containing all the messages that I have, although I needed to create a speciall folder named 'Gmail' to recreate the Gmail as records. In any case, I want to ask you: is there a solution for this kind of problem?

Have a look here at the facility for the IMAP folders...

    http://support.tigertech.NET/Windows-Live-Mail-IMAP

Section 3: The screenshot shows the part of special folders when the box is checked to leave them on the IMAP server. If this box is NOT checked, it puts the special folders on the local computer, which may explain why each entry has its own trash...

  • My mail disappears after I have read, closed the program and is about to double check my mail.

    Original title: endangered by email

After that I changed my modem, I had problems with Windows Mail.  I called AT & T to let them know that I didn't want Windows Mail to my e-mail default system, yahoo... After some configuration, I could get to Windows Mail but from my mail goes away after I read it, closed the program and is about to double check my mail.

    No guarantee. Try this...

Open Windows Mail > open the folder where the missing e-mail was before disappearing > above, click on view > in the pop-up box, click current view > click Show all Messages.

    Missing e-mail is re-appeared?

  • Mail disappears when you use local storage to Inbox of several e-mail addresses

After affecting all my email accounts and storage local folders to store mails in I went each account and the server settings, advanced and chose to send all incoming messages in the Inbox of local storage.

When I do that, I see messages being downloaded, and then they disappear.

I go back and put the accounts to use their own Inbox and I get the end messages.

It's only when I want all accounts to send messages in the Inbox local storage that they disappear.

I missed half a dozen on the e-mails and I have no idea who they are so I can't very well their demand to return them.

For now I put this back to individual accounts, but I'd rather have the Central Inbox, if I can

    What I am doing wrong?

Well, I worked around it. I have all the accounts to their own Inbox and 1 rule in each account - that moves all messages for each account in the Inbox of the local account that has all the individual rules to move sub folders.

    Not elegant, but it works.

  • Mail disappeared for a month in 2015. I tried the repair and reconstruction of the index file. Still missing but now emails have sporadic several copies.

The Inbox file is currently 1.9 G, upward of about 0.85 G in September of this year. Probably due to a large number of parts attached. I have noticed that emails for 3/2015 for most missing although I find answers, etc., in the folder "sent" for the same period. The gap may occur after the last operation of compaction.
I tried both the 'fix' and deletion of the msf index option and rebuild. These emails are still missing, but now I have sporadic cases of multiple copies of an e-mail, 8.

Inbox included 2013 as part of the day and I just moved the files from 2013 to a folder to archive but have not yet run the compaction on the Inbox to eliminate those emails that I fear that I could also inadvertently delete emails 3/2015.

Cannot open the raw file from Inbox in Notepad... get a too large file error, but it opens in wordpad even if research is extremely slow and basically unusable. Any thoughts?

More information on the compaction. It is recommended to leave Thunderbird cela automatically by setting a threshold (e.g. 1 MB). See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Compacting_folders

Also take a look at the archiving functionality.

  • When I closed and reopened my PC all my previous mail disappears. How can I stop this?

With outlook, all mails have been identified, when I started the PC, now when I run Thunderbird starts with empty folders outside of "Deleted".

How can I keep all messages in the po box until I delete them

IMAP e-mail accounts show a remote view of the files on the server. These e-mails are kept on the server. You subscribe to a folder. Then when TB starts and it will show you the folders subscribed and you select to read an email, the content of this file is downloaded in a temporary cache on your computer so that it is faster to retrieve other emails in this folder. When you close TB, the cache is deleted as well.

You can also choose to synchronize your folders. In this case, a copy of the folder and e-mail messages are downloaded to your computer and stored in the folders of your profile and you can access it in a State 'offline '. However, when you make changes, alter, move, delete etc, whereas this folder synchronizes with the file on the server and update it so that the two copies are the same.

In your case, it seems that you have created an IMAP e-mail account, but have not subscribed to the records.

By default, Thunderbird showing only subscribed folders. It's a way to manage the background image when you have a lot of remote folders and you don't want to see all of them in the files pane.

You are subscribed to a folder by right clicking the remote Inbox, selecting "Subscribe", developing the tree view of the Inbox in the window, and subscribing whatever files you want.

You can configure it to display all folders by unchecking the checkbox to "tools-> account settings-> Server settings-> advanced-> IMAP-> show only subscribed folders".

Here are some links to good information about IMAP mail accounts.

  • Original mail disappeared as an independent but shows in a thread

I received an email (I was part of the 5 addresses). Later, two other people the original was sent, did what I guess was a reply with comments.

now the original e-mail no longer exists as a standalone email for me, but I don't see the original in the "thread" of the last person who made a response.

How to preserve an original as a standalone or is this the normal procedure?

It depends entirely on a client you read email on. This isn't a thing of Apple.

It sounds like you will now see a "thread" where are all the parts of this conversation.

An another e-mail client can separate the different "parts", so you could go back to the original message for you, without any of the responses and such.

  • Records Windows mail disappeared (local folders (1))?

My windows mail subfolders are missing - all my emails are now just in the Inbox.

I checked in the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\ Mail\Local folders of Windows - and there are now 2 folders in Windows Mail:

Local folders - which is my original Sub-folders

Local folders (1) - which has the new layout with just the Inbox

Please can someone tell me how to restore the original file from local folders?

    Thank you

You must check for interference antivirus in Winmail because it is the biggest problem he has.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Then you should compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUti/).  If that doesn't fix things, then the best you can do is start all over again and rename the Windows Mail Windows old Mail directory.  Then create a new directory which replaces the former called Windows Mail.  Then start WinMail.  This will give you a basis of messages not corrupted.  Then, once it works fine, you can go to the file. Import | Messages and import them from the old directory (you might need to import twice, then point to each local folders in the older directory.

  • Configuration of Windows Live Mail disappears after a reboot (roaming profile question?)

I work with a Win7 machine and a user with a roaming profile.

The user configures Windows Live Mail with account information and is able to send and receive mail, until the computer is restarted successfully. After the reboot, all account information is lost and the e-mail client must be reconfigured.

  • mails disappeared

My Inbox was suddenly empty and not emails (approximately 22,000), either on my iMac, MacbookPro, iPad or iPhone. The same for my iCloud account.

How can I get them and what to do?

I d give Apple a buzz, especially if they do not return in 3 days.
