Records Windows mail disappeared (local folders (1))?

My windows mail subfolders are missing - all my emails are now just in the Inbox.

I checked in the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\ Mail\Local folders of Windows - and there are now 2 folders in Windows Mail:

Local folders - which is my original Sub-folders

Local folders (1) - which has the new layout with just the Inbox

Please can someone tell me how to restore the original file from local folders?

Thank you

You must check for interference antivirus in Winmail because it is the biggest problem he has.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Then you should compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUti/).  If that doesn't fix things, then the best you can do is start all over again and rename the Windows Mail Windows old Mail directory.  Then create a new directory which replaces the former called Windows Mail.  Then start WinMail.  This will give you a basis of messages not corrupted.  Then, once it works fine, you can go to the file. Import | Messages and import them from the old directory (you might need to import twice, then point to each local folders in the older directory.

  • synchronization: How can I store the mails for different accounts remotely and manually copy the most important e-mails in local folders on both devices?

Hello. I have two machines and two accounts, so what I want is this:
I want only to store mail from two accounts in a remote place and copy more important mails to local folders.

(I will be grateful for any ideas as to where/how this "cloud" can be - specially free places)
             * Can I have a copy of these local folders in both devices and the remote storage?
             * Could i synchronize devices so that: when i move a mail to a local folder in any device, its copied to the same folders in
the other device and the remote storage place?
             * The remote storage place will have many other folders. When I open Thunderbird, I also want to see these and the mail
inside, and also be able to move mail from the inbox to these folders.
              * One of the accounts is gmail. In Account Setting tool, there is an option for synchronization. If there is no easier way, I can have mail for other account copied to gmail, and just syncronize gmail mail. For this, how will I copy my present folder structure to gmail. And how can I syncronize the local folders on the two devices?

    Thanks in advance.

The first awkwardness that I see is that there is no clear format in which to store the messages remotely such that you can work with them in an email client. It may be possible to set the option "Local Directory" of the account in Thunderbird to point to a remote folder (DropBox comes to mind) but I've never tried, and I'd be nervous about what happens if the connection cannot be established, or if you happened to access it simultaneously from two different locations. The other concern is that mail stores are fast becoming big, and you would be forever download and download large files (several gigabytes). Thunderbird stores what looks like a folder that contains many messages separated as one big file, so there is no simple possibility of incremental changes to load up/down.

The idea of local folders in Thunderbird is to detach messages from servers, therefore they do not follow what is happening on the servers. I say this to emphasize the distinction between files stored locally and permanently ("Local Folders"), against copies cached files online ("synchronized"). It is not sure to consider your folders synchronized as permanent.

So folders synchronized on an IMAP server are "mirrored" in Thunderbird you do not have a local (although temporary and transitional) copy of messages. This is done primarily to avoid download repeatedly the messages if you re-read, and it makes the fastest search more effective. But these "synchronized" track of message that are deployed on the server, and so if they are deleted from anywhere, all devices that are synchronized at one point also see messages deleted endangered. (Except if you have saved a local copy on the local folders account).

I use a gmail account quite as much as you described; Copy or move messages to this account, so that they are visible in my phone, my tablet, my own laptop and my computer works. It's free, and it is "in the cloud"; the only reservation I have is her private life. There are other suppliers (e.g. 1 & 1/gmx) who do not seem to have the fetish of collecting data that google thrives.

It's pretty simple to create filters in Thunderbird to automatically copy messages to your account "cloud." even better is to implement the translation of rules on the servers of other accounts, to ensure that your messages are automatically sent and waiting for you when you log in next time, already in the cloud account.

  • Why most of the files by e-mail in local folders open with the Message Search screen?

Not much more to say. Instead of open and display the message headers and the preview window, most of the E-mail files opens with message search window. It seems that the size of folders or something small to display headers of message, messages in the folders.

There are a lot of free disk space (300 MB +) on the drive where the local folders.

Is there a setting in Thunderbird I can shape where I can change this behavior?

    Thanks for your help.

With anti anti-virus programs we just recommend the creation of an exclusion for the Thunderbird profile folder and see the people for the antivirus provider. Malwarebytes (my experience is the free version) is limited. but this seems to be the information you need https://helpdesk.malwarebytes.org/entries/23474946-How-do-I-stop-Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware-from-blocking-scanning-a-file-or-program-that-I-trust-

Note that the exclusion should be for your mail and your e-mail IMAP folders. To get the path to them. Open correct information in the menu help and select the button display folder. Because these files do not contain any executable files or files that would be open by other thing than Thunderbird there should be very very little risk of such an exclusion (I won't tell. Because it's always the exception that proves the rule)

  • All of my Windows Mail subfolders and the emails contained in disappeared mysteriously.

original title: Windows Mail lost all subfolders

All of my Windows Mail subfolders and the emails contained in disappeared mysteriously.  I closed Windows Mail with all folders and opening Windows Mail again the next day, only the default folders (Inbox, sent, etc.) were present.

I created a new folder named "Test" that I can see has been saved in "C:\Users\San\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders" as well as other folders by default, but I can find no trace of my 20 folders + that I had previously.

  • Does anyone know why the e-mails from a server have been removed after the upgrade to Windows 7 (Windows Live mail) to Windows Vista (Windows Mail)?

Or can I can return to windows mail to collect emails?

    Thank you

    [Moved from comments]

It is likely that he was not prepared to leave a copy on the server, so by default it deleted messages on the server after you download the WLM.  This is my point of view on what happened anyway.

Old Windows Mail messages should still be there.  They were previously under c:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail under local folders (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm).  I think the upgrade leaves a Windows.old directory and you can try to look into it.  What you want are eml files which are messages.  Alternatively, you can use my free ceml (www.oehelp.com/ceml/) to view them.

But you will not be able to retrieve them from the server, if they have been deleted.

  • How to move all e-mails from the imap server to local folders automatically for each mail?

    Hello

I want to transfer all my e-mails in local folders as soon as they arrive in Thunderbird and remove them from the server. I can do this manually by moving the mails to hand, but I want to do it automatically by Thunderbird.

After a few hours, I found there is an option on the removal of e-mails from the mail server, if I use POP3, but it is not an option for IMAP.

Important note: my mail can not be resolved like POP3, so please don't segguest implementation using POP3.

    Thanks in advance.

  • How to move all messages in local folders?

In my Thunderbird I have an IMAP account that is no longer existing on the remote mail server. All mail is on my local drive I can open it and browse. What I want is to move all messages in local folders and get rid of the old count IMAP. It's really annoying that it always tries to connect to the remote server all the time when I open and browse mail.

How can I do? When I try to drag and drop a few messages, Thunderbird attempts to remove them from the remote server, which of course not as the remote account does not longer exist, and that is why nothing is moved. I also searched if there is an option to take into account in offline mode, but found nothing.

    Try it in "offline" mode
Click on two screen blue icon in the lower left corner of the status bar to switch to offline mode which will show two black screen icon.

If this does not work, try this addon to import e-mails in local folders.

Right click on local folders > ImportExporttool > import a mbox file
    or
    in the local folders
Create a folder of the same name
Right-click on the created folder > ImportExporttool > import messages

  • Display in Windows Mail problem

    Original title: Outlook.com

Title changed to "Display in WLM problem."

Although he can be independent, when I logged on this AM, I had IE 9 privacy statement. When I open Windows Mail, lack of it for the first time ever was, on the far left of the screen, the designations for what I watch one, that is, "Inbox", "writes," "Sent", etc. I have them want to come back and can not find directions to do so. I'm not sure that this question does not belong to Outlook.com, which I was surprised to see it as a category instead of Windows Mail. Outlook.com, I copied the following: "you can connect Windows Mail for Windows Vista to your e-mail account using POP3 or IMAP4 connectivity. I have POP3. Anyone know what's happened and how do I get my list of categories of messages to display on my screen again? Thank you.

    Kay,

iFiredog is correct. I don't have Windows Live Mail. I have 'Windows Mail'. This is the Version 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101 - 2205). I can't find the tool captures to take a screenshot. While I was looking for it, I came across an icon at the far right of them above my Windows Mail. It is a rectangle (or square?) anything other than straight lines, showing one after the other on the icon. I clicked it. Bingo-test - files in my Windows Mail reappeared on the left side of my Panel. So, the problem seems to be resolved, unless when I go back to Windows Mail, list of folders is part once again! I have no idea how I lost it.  As to move my viewing of Windows Mail to the right with the arrow (on each side of the screen), I had tried more than once. The arrow on the left side of my screen was not working. He has nothing. The arrow on the right side did expand the display area to include plenty of empty space, that I have on the right. However, I leave here! Thank you for your help, even if she didn't direct me to a solution, because I fell on my own.  Libbiss

  • Windows Mail - can I consolidate records 'Local Folders' and 'IMAP '?

I use Windows Vista Home Premium. I had already set up Windows Mail with a local ISP, which went bankrupt. So there are "Local Folders" put in place for this account. I can't use this address, so I now set up Windows Mail with my new provider, via IMAP. Who created a new set of records, so now that I have two folders box, reception, two sent items folders, two project files etc. I tried drag - move, but they will not move. Is it possible I can group these together so that, without losing any content, I have only one Inbox folder, for example?

    DQ J

Not if you use IMAP.  You can use pop.  IMAP the local client has reproduced what is on the server which is good if you have several devices, but you can create local rules or manage local folders.

BTW, if you change from IMAP to POP, you need to backup your data (which you should do anyway)

  • Can not save attachments in Windows Mail in Vista Local folders or subfolders

I have a new Vista 64 system and I have actually two problems.  First of all, I can't move old emails (more 2 G total) of my XP Outlook Express email on my old laptop in Vista 64 - bit Windows Mail on my new desktop.  Files folders and the content may be downloaded, but have not been recognized and installed by Win. Mail.  I talked to several computer technicians who could not find a solution except either to send the emails from old files individually or as a group to myself to my server (Yahoo more).  Is there a better solution?  Secondly, when I send my self a such email with multiple attachments and I try to save, I can't find a thread that will lead to my Windows Mail > local folders > Inbox >(folders and sub-folders).  Nor can I drag-and - drop these saved emails (they contain many different endings) to these files. Help, please.

    Hello Mmmaltby,

Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

A common method to transfer everything via is to use the Export command in Outlook Express to save all messages and contacts to separate files, copy them to the Vista PC and then use the option import (on the file menu) to import the data into Windows Mail.

  • When I downloaded IE9 my email and folders disappeared in windows mail.

I'm running Vista on this computer. Is it possible to recoving old emails and folders?

Is no IE 9: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#15 , but it is not clear the messages.  Make sure you in Winmail opener you have put in view. Current view | Show all messages and also make sure you have the list of records or record enabled under view bar | Page layout.  If this does not help then try to compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  If the messages still do not, then you can go to the message store and see if the eml files are there under the folder names (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm for background).  And in the future, beware of antivirus software that is not compatible with Windows Mail (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  See if any of this helps.

  • Email from a friend appears in windows mail and then immediately disappears. I'm showing all files in all folders and do not find the message. I use Norton security.

    Windows Mail emails disappearing

Norton and any program Windows Mail have major conflicts.  So it could be due to Norton, or it could be because of the message is marked as read and you have set it to hide read messages.  So make sure that you have configured in sight. Current view | Show all messages.

And if you want to say you have Windows Live Mail then ask in the appropriate here section: www.windowslivehelp.com
