Mail for Windows 8 program

I've used Microsoft Outlook as my default e-mail on Windows XP program. I have "upgraded" to Windows 8 and have discovered that the default mail app does not support server accounts pop. Also I can no longer use Outlook 2000 because of the error "cannot find wab.dll. I do not want to upgrade Microsoft Office as my other Office programs work OK. Please can you suggest an alternative program that works with Windows 8 and provide most of the features of Outlook?

Download and install Windows Live Mail.

He will take care of pop3, imap, and http accounts.

Where can I download chess for Windows 7 program.
Is there any windows update provide this?

    -Prasanth Vijayan

All versions of Windows 7 come with games such as Chess Titans. If you can't find them, maybe they are just turned off. To activate:

    1. click on Start Orb (lower-left) and then Control Panel.

    2. click on programs and features.

    3. on the left side of the screen, click on 'Windows turn features on or off".

    4. look for the entry called games & put a tick in the box next to it.

    5. click on OK.

I hope that your Windows games should now appear.

  • Support e-mail for Windows for business customers

Where and how a business customer can get support free e-mail for Microsoft Windows 7 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 to Microsoft? Is a professional support/license agreement necessary for e-mail support without being charged more for it?

With (almost) any other product we buy, we automatically get free e-mail support, but I can't find any form or Correo electronico that we can use to contact Microsoft support without being charged more for it.
Ironically, with some (read a lot) effort, I can contact Microsoft by e-mail for support as a private client without being charged for it (which I have done several times already)...

Partially / a little answer to myself, these are the only 2 ways that we found so far to contact the Microsoft Support in written form:

    1. via chat (Chat from Microsoft Customer Service) - https://sales.liveperson.net/hc/21661174/?cmd=file&file=visitorWantsToChat&site=21661174

    1. use the form to the Internet (electronic mail Microsoft Customer Service) - https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/emailcontact.aspx?scid=sw;en;1539

    Thank you

    Myrna Garcia

If the Office programs are preinstalled on your computer, you will need to contact the manufacter of the computer to see if you have the product key to reinstall on your computer.

Otherwise, since they have been deleted, you will need to reinstall using original diskettes or purchase need office products.

    Sincerely,

    Marilyn

  • A fax for Windows 7 program

I accidentally deleted the Windows fax program in Windows 7.

It is not in the trash and I don't have the original Win7 disc to reinstall.

Where did you delete it go?

Try going to the control panel and selecting programs and features.

Then select Turn Windows features On or OFF.

    Expand Print and document Services.

If Windows Fax and Scan is checked, uncheck it, select OK and restart your computer.

Then repeat the above steps but put a checkmark in Windows Fax and Scan and again select OK and restart your computer.

  • Problem by setting a default mail on Windows 7 program

I use Outlook Express as my email client. When I try to email a picture to a Web site by right-clicking and selecting the e-mail option, I get a pop-up message box which tells me this: "there are no associated messaging program to perform the requested action. "Install an e-mail program or, if such is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel. Well, I followed the instructions and opened this program, I chose the one that says, "program access and computer by default", then I chose the dot next to "Microsoft windows", because Outlook is Microsoft and comes with windows, but I still can't the system to set a default e-mail program. Can you please help me with this?  I'd greatly appreciate the effort... Sincerely, Kevin R. Greeley, a Windows user otherwise very satisfied...

you will be able to designate Outlook as your default program.

    ...

Some program your ISP has set up you can also use as default.

No! Outlook.com is a web service, not a program. It goes same for webmail that provide most of the suppliers. In order to use functions such as send this page by email or send by e-mail link on a web page, or send to > message recipient in Windows Explorer, you must have an e-mail program client installed on your computer.

All versions of Windows since 1998 has included an e-mail client, to the exception of Windows 7. Several Windows 7 computers are delivered with an e-mail client software installed, often Windows Live Mail. Others do not, so you need to install one yourself. Microsoft produces two - Outlook, which is part of the Office and not free, and Windows Live Mail, part of the free Windows Essentials. Several others are available, some free, some not.

  • How to import my Windows Live Mail email messages in mail for Windows 8?

Before that I have upgraded Vista to Windows 8 I exported my (a few thousand) e-mail messages to save them in a folder.   Now I would like to import to Windows 8 mail.    How do I do that?

I had the same problem, although in my case, I was trying to transfer data to a new computer of Win8 from Win7.  I wanted to just transfer my files, e-mail and contact groups, as I did with previous updates.  According to technology Microsoft Office response that I talked for about an hour, Microsoft does NOT provide a way to import data from Microsoft previous E-mail programs (windows live mail) to any application of Win8, and you can't do that with Outlook.com either.  Basically, Win8 with all tiles or such is not really a basic messaging application yet.  She told me that I have to do is to get a copy of Outlook or windows live mail on the Win8 Office part, then run as a Win7 machine.  This seems to be the best answer, until Win8 is more mature.

  • Addition of e-mail for Windows Live account

I use a webcam and I want to send a video. I am asked to set up a windows live account. I go to tools and add the email account, but tells me that the hotmail account is not compatible. I try to use the other addresses that do not work. I retry the hotmail account and asks me for my name server name, incoming and outgoing. How will I know what they are? I guess it's something like pop3.live.com smtp.live.com, but I'm wrong. I get the following error message. Help!

1.Windows Mail doesn't support Hotmail account.
Windows Mail only supports POP3 and IMAP E-mail accounts not Web Site based accounts (EX: Hotmail or Yahoo) unless they are paid versions with the POP3 option.
Windows Live Mail supports Hotmail accounts.
Here is the link to download WLM :|

    2. for what is your error message:
SMTP port # is wrong. Should be 587 No 25
Secure (SSL) must be activated in ' Yes ' 'no '. The same applies to POP3.

NOTE: It won't work even if you had all the parameters, changed and corrected. You must have Windows Live Mail to set up the Hotmail account.

  • How to create a link in my signature in Windows Live Mail for Windows 7?

I used to use Outlook Express, and when I put a link in my signature in Outlook Express, it automatically creates a hyperlink so that my clients can easily access my site, but I am now using Windows Live Mail, and I was never able to find a way to create a link in my signature.

I put my website address in my signature, but when I send a mail to answer, it will only turn it into a link if I click at the end of my website address and then press ENTER to go down as I begin a new paragraph. When I do that, it changes the address a link, but it's a real hassle of having to do every time I send a response. I tried to do the same thing in my signature, but it does not work.

Did someone knows a way to make it a link in my signature?

Under the Signature settings in the options, you can use a plain text signature that has no connection, or you can use the 'file' option to define an HTML file containing the code for a signature with a link.

For example, save it as a sig.html notebook file (instead of the economy as a normality. txt file) and use it in the options.

    Roxanne
    example.com

This will produce a signature that looks like this:

    Roxanne
    example.com
