  I suggest you to see these steps:

  • Press right on your mouse button when your desktop is visible. A menu will appear.
  • Move your mouse to the bottom of the menu and click on the word "Properties".
  • Look at the tabs under the marked blue title bar "display properties". You should be able to see one marked "screen saver". Click the screen saver tab once. You should now see a small monitor.
  • Look for the dropdown next to the marked buttons 'Settings' and 'Preview '. Click on the arrow down on the right side of the menu drop down.
  • Look at the list of available screensavers. The first menu is marked '(none) '. Click on this title. Once you have clicked on the title, the "Apply" button will become operational.
  • Click on the button apply. Close the display properties window and the Control Panel window. You have now properly disabled your screen saver.

• XPS 8700 Hard Drive failure - after less than TWO WEEKS

  I'm a little frustrated.  I recently ordered a new Dell and XPS 8700 office.  Everything seems to work well.  Then yesterday I walked away from my office for 5 minutes, and when I came back, I got a screen saying my computer could no longer starts.  After spending some time on the phone, we confirmed what I already suspected, that my hard drive has failed.  This was after less than two weeks!  Is this a common problem with the recent Dells?  I am certainly not happy having to wait several days understood of the technology that will be (according to the support person) that I spoke) an appointment to install a new hard drive.  I'm more frustrated that I'll lose data, installed applications and settings that I have spent the last two weeks on.  I assumed that if I had to look on the bright side of things, it wasn't months or years of work that was lost, but I fear that the replacement of the HDD will suffer the same fate on the road, making me lose a lot more work.  Besides than to spend the money to set up a backup system, how to avoid this problem in the future?  And what is the level of reliability of hard disks installed in the 8700 s XPS?

  Dell uses a variety of brands of hard drive of their computer. HGST, WD, Seagate and Toshiba are trademarks used. Your next hard drive could be one of those, there is a chance it will be different than what you have now. As with all hard drives, they will be eventually. some quickly, other overtime. I wouldn't worry about replacement drive failure. If so, check and see if it was the same as the previous disc.

  If please mention the topic from which you created the custom theme, or is it a custom built theme.

  Please change your Page template-> sub-model section-> success Message. View the section HTML markup.

  Please view the 'Body' of the Page template section HTML markup as well.

  If the 'success' Message contains the correct markup (to compare with 'A level tabs - left Sidebar'), then compare the 'Body' of the model section and make sure she has the #SUCCESS_MESSAGE substitution string # after the header tag.

  You can ask for help on issues of the HTML and the template more than whoever designed your model.

• X 1 slice battery goes bad after less than 24 hours.

  installed new battery slice on the X 1, got fully charged.

  After using the computer on and outside, including automatically putting in sleep mode, battery now show 87% then it says:

  2 battery: The battery error has occurred. The battery cannot be charged. Replace the battery.

  Tried to reset the State of the battery, as well as to drain and recharge. He doesn't really like it seems to cancel the first battery and will just not work without power.

  Hi Yann,

  as a quick fix, you can do the following when you edit such a page element:

  (1) set up the "display as" for this element of the page "text field.
  (2) this will show the "Width" attribute again because he is used to this type of element
  (3) remove the 0 attribute 'Width '.
  (4) reset him ' display under "for the item page on"view only ".
  (5) to restore the values in the "settings" section to the values you had before (they have been reset to the default values)

  I will try to find an another workaround that corrects all page elements in an application.

  Critics of this mini are not too abundant, but I found a couple for the re-brand model, and the life of the battery when new, was, on average, about 75 to 90 minutes. Since you never more than 10 minutes BL, and it seems to work fine on AC, my guess would be a bad battery from the beginning. Too bad it's probably out of warranty, but you can try to contact them in any case to see if there is perhaps a battery recall.

  You could try to calibrate the battery. Read this article and see whether or not you want to try it:

  It's not easy to say what is the reason for this as it can be different things

  Maybe your laptop is overheating. You can hear the fan or get very hot? Maybe you should try to clean using compressed air stream. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.

  You said that you have installed Windows Vista on your laptop. Do you mean the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?

  It could also be the RAM problem. You can check this with Memtest86. It is a diagnostic program for the RAM. You can download it from [www.memtest86.com]. It s freeware and easy to use (just to burn a bootable CD with the image and the start of it).

  Good luck and post your results after that.

  iTunes wouldn't allow my PC because I had allowed more than 5 devices.

  So, I've authorized out of several devices.

  I now only three left, but iTunes still says I have authorized more than five years and to allow it.

  I even tried restarting the computer laptop, but to no avail.

  Perhaps there is a time delay on these things? Should I expect to work in a few days?

  There may be some confusion here between the authority and the association.

  Up to 5 computers can be simultaneously allowed for each Apple ID. iOS devices and iPods are limited to protected DRM content from up to 5 different accounts. There is no limit to the number of devices you can load up with content using iTunes. You can Deauthorize computers that you no longer want to use to access the protected content so that you can allow other people. You either do it on the specific machine or remove all and then reauthorize according to needs.

• Why my "Downloads" folder lasts more than five minutes to load? (Probably due by MSE)

  I have a very big downloads folder:
  5 419 files
  759 files
  30.0 GB

  I prefer to keep both as - is; However, recently it has started to take several minutes to load in Windows Explorer. Basically whenever I select the folder (either directly under my account user, either by a "Favorites" link), this green progress bar appears in the path box at the top... He continued slowly for a few minutes until what he finished. The real problem that is boring is that, while it is loading, I can't find (indexed), sort, or do anything. (The cursor shows that it is 'work'). In addition, it happens everytime I go in this directory!

  I'm pretty sure that the problem is with Microsoft Security Essentials. Under the resource monitor, subheading 'disc', dozens, or even hundreds of lines appear with the image of MsMpEng.exe (engine of Microsoft Security Essentials), probably one for each file in my downloads folder. In addition, I have confirmed that the problem disappears if I exclude this directory in MSE. However, I of course want to keep the downloads folder (which is probably the most important record to analyze new elements that I upload them!)

  Finally, I must point out that the column 'Date of access' is updated to the current date/time for about 1/3 of the files and all subfolders. I can't find a pattern for which files have their set "consulted" to date; However, none of these values are more than a month (although I certainly do not have access to many of these files for years.) (I.e. all my files are 'accessible' either immediately or in the past month.)

  Most likely, something to mark these files as 'dirty' every time - I access this folder, so pull up the re antivirus engine - check everything. Anyone know what could be the cause? Is that what I can do besides excluding this MSE folder?

  So, how does it work if you uninstall MSE?

  You can allways then reinstall it

  As expected, since excluding the 'downloads' folder of the MSE has worked, uninstall MSE also worked. However, I like MSE and want to analyze my downloads folder ;)
  UPDATE: I think I thought of her! In this case, I was running "Process Explorer" (Sysinternals) on Windows startup and pretty much all the time. Thinking that MSE could be analysis all programs that are running, I moved procexp.exe to another folder and set it at the start of this version.
  Once I did, MSE now allows me to open the file downloads without re - check everything.
  My life-lesson from this: If you run an executable file, make sure it is in a different directory other random files, otherwise MSE will constantly check their.

  Unfortunately, I see a few problems. First off, while moving ProcessExplorer for this directory he stopped the analysis of each file, each time, I opened the file, it always scans the first time I open the directory each tile. Only after waiting five minutes the first time I can then move freely in this directory. Of course, this is not ideal.
  
  
  I did some follow-up work on this:
  
  
  • I completely uninstalled MSE. Obviously, it worked. However, I then installed the antivirus NOD32. Guess what? It still freezes when opening the downloads folder! This time, instead of the hundreds of lines of "MsMpEng.exe" - billing in the resource monitor, I see hundreds of lines "ekrn.exe! (I.e., it does the same thing!)
  • I actually just moved into a new downloads folder. I found that can be summed up these kinds of folder names. (I.e., I was able to have a new folder that is displayed when I select "[UserName] / downloads.") In other words, when you download things, it appears exactly the same thing, I'm just getting started with a new directory. However, even if the library and the user subpath now point to the new folder, I change not the absolute path to my old files directory. This way I can keep the countless maps/executable shortcuts, etc. in this mega-file.
  
  
  I still think I've hit on something fundamental here. I hope I've learned why I'm causing AV systems across this large number of files, hay son as he shouldn't be testing of thousands of files that haven't changed.

  After the last update, the message counter will never lower than 1. If I receive more than one message, the meter is accurate. After looking in the messages, the meter drops to 1. Must use terminal and "killall Dock" to get rid of the metering error. Help!
