I also deleted the drivers and reinstalled times since the original CD & download from HP.com whenever it froze just my laptop once the drivers have been installed. I don't know what else to try?

  Wtdboss, sorry for not responding sooner, I was out of the country on a trip to visit his family in France.

  Looks like we can fix pretty easily. To be able to scan from your computer directly on your computer you need to activate the scan function in the software for your printer on your computer.
