MainStage newbie

Is there a "Dummies guide" to learn the 3 MainStage?

I'm a guitarist/bassist looking to integrate loops in a real game situation.

Any help is appreciated.

Too bad

You will need to provide more information so that we can offer suggestions.

On the top of my head, try to go to ~/Library/Saved States Application / and that starts com.apple.mainstage trash.  Empty the trash, restart and try opening MainStage again.

  • MainStage randomly change patches with Korg nanokontroller 2

Help! I have spend hours setting up 10 patches for a mainstage concert constantly saving everything than to go back and find that my tasks evolve at random.  After putting a text parameter with the predefined names, I see that for some reason any change to random other patches that I assign.  What can I do to stop this?  What is the nanokontroller this?  I'd be delighted for patches I worked on the same being that I left

I used plug-ins AAS and they responded also to changes to the program so when I send change the patch to the SP, the * care was also changing to a patch different in it's library. I need to disable this feature in the plug so that it would not change so

  • MainStage - loss of connectivity environment performance

    Hi guys,.

I seem to lose connectivity between my midi controller (m-audio code 61) and Mainstage environment performance. I lost sound and the warning message on the Mainstage saying that the midi controller is no longer available. Currently, I connect via the USB port, which also fuels the midi controller. I have to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable on the midi controller or laptop and then it seems to work again. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Try another USB cable. A premium quality cable may be the solution. The connectors tend to have a tighter fit. Another alternative is to use a power supply and a USB MIDI cable, or connect via a cable to your audio interface MIDI, if it has a MIDI.

  • Can I re-download Mainstage?

Yes of course, as long as your signature with your Apple o int.

  • MIDI keyboard entry out of semitone (gray 3/oxygen 49 MainStage)

Having a problem where my midi controller (version M-Audio oxygen 49 gray) is read by MainStage 3 (3.2.4) half-step out (C3 poster and sounds like B2, D3 as c# 3, etc.).

13 "MBP running 10.10.5, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB solid state

Function "Patch transpose" MS is set to 0

    Setting is at 440

    44.1 sampling rate

It happened all of a sudden and applies to all saved concerts as well as newly opened empty concerts. Music entry is read correctly. The keyboard is equipped with no hardware to adjust the setting or the sampling frequency. It was working fine until this point. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You have another audio application running? Already happened when I opened the logic, which was fixed at a different sampling rate. Try closing all applications, to reopen the MainStage and if the problem persists, open the MS preferences and change the sampling frequency.

  • MainStage 3 - sends the Midi file

    Hello.

Someone at - it service send a Midi file in MainStage 3 to work?

The synth gets midi when I play the midi keyboard.

I tried to press the play button in MainStage before changing the patch that is supposed to send the midi file.

I tried to download various midi files.

I know I'm getting a midi SMF of the file, but don't know where to check if they are of type 0 or 1.

    The manual States the following:

Send a MIDI file using an external instrument

    1. In the external Instrument channel strip Inspector, click the output tab MIDI.
    2. Check send a MIDI file, and then click the Select button.
    3. Choose the location of the MIDI file you want to add, select the file, and then click the file Send. The MIDI is sent immediately to the port selected on the external instrument Channel Strip. The MIDI file is returned when you change patches, just as the other options of the Inspector of channel strip (such as program change messages or the MIDI clock).

Only types SMF (standard MIDI file) 0 and 1 are supported. MIDI files are sent in the order, the institution after another, per concert. If you pass quickly through several patches which send long queues of MIDI, MIDI files are queued and sent in succession. MIDI messages are sent to the tempo stored in the MIDI file.

It is a complicated issue, but I solved with a workaround.  My file "noon" is a set of commands for controlling an external light strip (DMXIS) in sync with a backing track.   The native functionality of MainStage has not worked for me.  The solution was a plugin called thingy by plug.   The plug-in includes a large number of configurable widgets, including in particular a "midi file player."  This widget can be set up in the contraption that runs in the Instrument channel strip plug-in.   The configuration is complicated, but I can walk you through it, if you are interested.   The software thingy is about $ 100, but there is a period long demo if you want to try it.

I would like to know if you want help setting up; the plugin task processor and memory, especially if you plan to run multiple instances.   But it works.

  • Newbie questions

    Greetings

After nearly 40 years, using Windows, I ordered an iMac 27 "(renovated)."  I had an Apple II at the end of the 1970s beginning in the 1980s and had an iPhone 4 and still have an iPad 2, but my office has always been a windows box.  So I'm really a newbie on the Mac.  My main job is as an image maker and photographer, using Adobe products. I am become familiar with the software and the new terms and had a few questions.

My Windows workstation had 4 screens and would like to have 3 screens, on the iMac.  I understand the port Thunderbolt is what I would use, but don't know if I should get some sort of converter hub and put a Thunderbolt port or run each monitor on its own Port. I don't know, what other material may be used on the stroke, if you want advice from other users.  Even if my PC monitors are near the resolution of the iMac, and most of my image work will be done on the main screen, other screens will be used for e-mail, research on the web and others.

I also use a mouse from the ball on my PC (usb) and I was wondering if it will work on the material of the iMac.  I have a little of magic, as seems to be quite an easy and intuitive interface.

In any case, I'm sure it's frustrating for users of long-time Mac products to meet a beginner, but advice, links or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

You can use any external screen mini display port. Plug the cable from port mini display on the Thunderbolt on Mac ports, and then you're in business. Connection of external monitors an iMac is extremely simple to do. Apple explains in OS x: how to use several displays with your Mac in Lion mountain and even before - Apple Support. Although this letter of advice is a bit outdated, it should still work properly with your new iMac.

Insofar as your new magic Track Pad, it may take a little 'getting used to' However, after a week or two, you will get the hang of it. You can find the gestures to use multi-touch on your Mac - Apple Support useful too.

There is a plethora of information available for Windows users, go on a Mac. I would like to start with https://www.apple.com/support/macbasics/

Furthermore, to make your messages more readable, use paragraph breaks. We would appreciate that.

  • MainStage is used as a registration program?

Is, or MainStage can be used as a registration program?

    Hello

MainStage is a direct installation and is not intended to be a recording program (DAW).

Ok! It can record your perform live and other things (admissions material, metronome, plugins, etc.) - everything you copy to the chosen record output. But it s not it s 'thing '.

    hope this helped you

  • MainStage 3 crashes at opening with macOS Sierra

I just bought 3 MainStage on the App Store and it loaded on my Sierra (Public Beta 2) Mac OS installation, but the app crashes everytime I go to open it.

Specific error is: "MainStage 3 quit unexpectedly when you use the libsystem_malloc.dylib plugin."

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

  • Yourock guitar and mainstage 3

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone has had success, playing guitar "yourock' of Instruments inspired with Mainstage 3? I had trouble getting any midi continuous trigger for a reason, but a small mini-keyboard will play notes. My yourock guitar records incoming information about midi in midi monitor, so I wonder why I can't trigger synth sounds? I tested the audio interface from any audio via turning simply click on the... This works. So why no connection sound or apparent with a synth even if the notes are considered by the program?

I hope someone has an idea as to why some midi controllers and others are not.

    Thank you

If MainStage receives MIDI, it should work. You assigned it in the input tab MIDI instrument channel strip Inspector? Click keyboard, and then select your device.

  • Can I export my patches to another device that is running Mainstage 3?

I'm to the point that I have to buy another computer to develop what I do to the Church. My current Macbook Pro has 3 Mainstage, with custom patches I've built in the 6 months. I am considering buying a new Mac just to run 3 Mainstage on while on the platform, but I don't want to lose all my current concerts and patches. Is there a way to do this? On another note, I guess I'll have to buy another program Mainstage 3 of the new device, but is possible to use my purchase of 3 Mainstage on multiple devices, or do I need to buy the app for each device? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Yes, if you connect on the new Mac with your Apple which was used to buy the MainStage ID, you can install on multiple machines.

You can save patches by clicking on the utility icon in the window list of patch (sprocket with the arrow pointing down) and selecting Save as Patch.  You can then move this file on your new computer.  If the patch contains any third party instruments, those will have to be installed on the new machine as well, of course.

You can also save your file in Concert on an external drive and move this file to the new machine.  It might be faster if you have all the patches stored in one place.  I know that some church musicians have just a gig file that looks more like a library than a set of unique service tasks.

  • I followed all THE instructions! Still can't activate Java? (I'm not a newbie)

2 months ago, I saw all the news about JAVA security issues. I disabled it - now I need. I downloaded the jre with Oracle 7. Their tool check says unable to verify java on my system. I lived many suggestions of firefox - still nothing. It appears even in my modules or plug-ins. What Miss me? I am applied pretty computer - not a newbie - but not a tech either. Anyone?

Do you remember how you disabled? There is a tab in the Java Panel which does not appear in one of your browsers. If you out there, you will probably have to return to the control panel and turn it here first.

  • Cannot upgrade to MainStage 3.2.4 (an error occurred)?

I upgraded 3.2.4 MainStage, but apparently read only 3.2. My other laptop said 3.2.4 and on my current mac it says "an error has occurred" when you perform the update. The current Mac, incidentally, will not read my laptop .concerts and the App Store does not update now? What is going on?

Hi, maybe you can not Mainstage 2 on different sessions (or you can buy a second I think).  When I transferred a MacBook to a MacBookPro, it expired the previous version.  A license is linked to an account only.  (this is what I understand)

  • It's 2016: we can still easily get Mainstage 3 sounds in Garageband?

Hello. I use GarageBand 10.1.1. I downloaded the additional content in Mainstage 3 - my computer is not so huge, so I downloaded only a few games, such as World Music Jam Pack. Now how do these in GarageBand? I was advised to do so by various online sources, but I'm afraid that it is not possible...

Please use simple language; I am a bit new with GarageBand. Thank you!

You should see the world music JamPack in GarageBand library, once you restart the MAc after you downloaded and installed.

I see all MainStage JamPacks in the legacy section, when I choose a software instrument track in garageBand.
