Maintaining sharp images when you import into Photoshop?

Hi all

I have a little problem, I hope that someone here could help me with that.

Working with complex vectors is much better in Illustrator than in Photoshop, but when I create my vectors in Illustrator and then pull them in Photoshop, they always end by being fuzzier than when I work in Photoshop alone.

Is there some kind of trick to work between the two to maintain pixel perfect happiness?

Sticker vector art in Illustrator and keep as much of it as possible net can be difficult depending on the project. Need a little prior planning before and during the design process to get the best results, especially if you're working on something that will have a limited amount of resolution as a web page interface. If your buttons, boxes, etc. that you design in Illustrator don't line up with the pixel grid in Photoshop the edges will be blurred and inprecise rather than razor.

It can help to make safe the pixelation effects, size of the document settings, etc. in match Illustrator upward with the size of the document in Photoshop. In Illustrator, the document or the other must be designed using a unit of measurement or something pixel-based that matches with him. Sharp hard objects (as a rule lines, rectangle, etc.) must be of size and aligned with the pixel grid to avoid soft edges when pasted in Photoshop.

Here is an another 'witch hunt': Photoshop don't paste an Illustrator illustration into a PSD document precisely. In some versions often bad Photoshop work when it is pasted. It doesn't matter if you paste Illustrator artwork by pixels or paths. Zoom in tight and the work will be generally off between 1/4 and 1/2 pixel - enough to really screw up a complex multi-page interface web. This parasite is not a big deal, as long as the illustration Illustrator and Photoshop document are properly sized. I just use the function of transformation of Photoshop to resize the Illustrator illustration so it lines up accurately with the Photoshop document. I use the side handles to initiate work on the edges of the Photoshop document and then click on the check box. Zoom in tight to check the results. If the art of the Illustrator has been designed with the pixel grid in mind, it must be aligned perfectly once the transformation is applied to the pasted work.

What is possible when you download from the camera or a card reader, is to use the options in the Advanced section. You can add images to a selected album and you can use a template to import IPTC metadata; right of author and writer.

This is not based on the name of the folder.

What you can do when you have displayed your subfolders in the left panel is to highlight the subfolder and create an 'instant album' with the name of the subfolder.

  • How can I maintain the original size of the JPEG file when you import into Photoss?

I noticed that when I use pictures to import images from the SD card in the camera, the images are substantially smaller than when I drag the same image directly from the SD card on the desktop. In general, a 3.6 Mb picture somehow diminishes to about 2.6 MB. I'm wrong and get frustrated to this drop in image quality!

Any help / advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you

In what circumstances you see this small size?

Photos did a bit of copy bit when importing images in its library.  If you drag the thumbnail of an image on the desktop you bet that the preview version, which will have a small file size.

Export the image on the desktop via the file export Export X Unmodified Originals ➙ ➙ menu option will give you the full size file that was imported into the library.

Drag the thumbnail on the desktop will get you the original file.

  • camera Sony 7r mk can if display impossible to generate the preview when you import into Lightroom 2 - get

    Hello

Does anyone know how to get the Sony raw (ARW), taken with the new camera Sony 42megapixel, working with Adobe Lightroom.

When trying to import maps on my pro Sandisk extreme sd in Lightroom app said: Impossible to generate the preview for files that have been taken with this camera... I can't import these files.

Lightroom says cannot import files-non recognized by the raw support in Lightroom.

However, the raw files generated by the camera of Sony a7rs, imports and plays well with Lightroom...

I'm now using lightroom 6 edition of lifetime license not CC (just updated to 5.7).

I thought that this upgrade would have solved this problem... but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Is someone having a similar problem... and if so how is it resolved.

    Hi robertlue,

Sony 7RM2 files are supported in the latest version of Lightroom is 6.1.1 (Camera Raw 9.1.1)

Make sure your Lightroom is so far through this link: keeping up-to-date for Lightroom

Then, try to import into Lightroom.

  • Error and files impossible to read when you import into Lightroom

Hello! I have Lightroom 5.7 and I am having a problem trying to import my photos. It comes up with error, cannot read photos and lists the pictures that it canoe read which is all of them, so he then proceeds to import anything. I am able to then import in iPhoto fine but not Lightroom ith. Help, please!

An exact quote from the error message would be useful.

The most common cause of the error of 'reading' is a problem writing to the destination primary or secondary destination. (Badly written error message.)

Check the names of directory for the typos in the import dialog box.

Using your OS (Windows Explorer or Finder) tools check the privileges on your destination directories; you need both read and write privs.

    Uninstalled cs5.5. Re-install cs5.5 make updates.

    Nothing helps.

    It was working perfectly before.

I also started to have an 24 error when it tries to install, was to contact adobe that they couldn't help me, finally came home.

More concerned with xml now, just mentioned in the case.

The problem is with the recently exported (FCP) XML, not with the Prime Minister. I imported just an old xml to the Prime Minister without any problem.

  • Excluding subfolders when you import pictures into Photoshop Elements 10

In earlier versions of Photoshop Elements you could exclude subfolders when you import photos from files and folders.  In version 10 of the "get photos from subfolders" is grayed out.  I don't normally want to include subfolders during import.  I want only the top folder of the current page.  Why the change?

    Hello

    Just another thought.

I tried now versions 9 and 10 on a Windows 7 system and both work the same. The "include subfolder" box is not active until I select a folder on the right side - a selection on the side left is not activate it.

What operating system do you use?

Have you changed operating systems when you changed to 10 PSE?

What are you - right click the icon on the desktop for Premiere Elements, and then select run as administrator? If so, please return to post 3 where I wrote

You definitely need a user with the privileges of the administrator account. QuickTime as well as Premiere Elements require that. Sometimes a run as administrator (right-click the icon of the program Office) and selecting run as administrator can help. Please check it out. The permissions are important.

When you import images in LR5 on my laptop, the photos all have a broad yellow streak through them. This only happens on the laptop; I can import the images on my LR Office and he's not the streak of color.   Can anyone help?

This happens even with pictures taken on another device, not just mine.  My daughter told me that the phone fell recently.  The yellow streak isn't nowhere elsewhere on the laptop, right on the photos in LR.

It happens when you import new images. This pourrait indicate that the sector where the pictures are copied to is damaged. But it could be a faulty card reader or a bad cable if you connect the camera directly to the computer. It's a hardware problem. Your challenge is to figure out where this problem.

  • Can I import words from the file name as keywords in the metadata when you import pictures?

    Hello

My apologies if this question has already been asked. I can't find the answer: will / Lightroom can import words filename for my photos as keywords in the metadata when you import the photos from my hard drive? And if so, how can I do this?

I'm new to Lightroom from iPhoto. After reading several articles on the transfer of photos from iPhoto, I exported some 7000 photos in an electronic file on my hard drive. I'm following the advice, sort and rename the photo files on my hard drive to be able to import them into Lightroom in an orderly fashion. It is not too difficult because iPhoto already for most changed the filenames for event names as ordered in iPhoto. I also prefer to do it manually rather than using any iPhoto / Aperture plugin because my iPhoto organization was far from perfect and I have already started to significantly improve by changing the file names.

I'm renaming the files of images with additional information to improve the organisation even more with what would anyway keywords "DATE/NAME/NAME OF PERSON (S) IN THE EVENT PHOTO" so it would be good to not have enter these keywords in the metadata after import for each photo. It's automatic and if not is there a way to do this? All the other tips are welcome!

    Thank you

    Hi adiscerningeye,

You can create metadata Preset and then apply this preset on import for images.

    Link partners: -.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Help | Shares of advanced metadata

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 * create and apply metadata presets

Once you create a metadata preset, you must select it during import so it will be applied on all images when importing.

You can also type a few words under key words, so it will work like keywords for this specific to import Images.

Let us know if it helps.

  • not the same size of the image when I import it

I want to import an e imagexactly the same size he is, but I can't do...

someone at - it an idea? Thank you.

    I'm using flash pro cs5.

    Hi Jakob,

    Try this first-

    (1) Insert the following code into a new document and check the system screenDPI:

    import flash.system.Capabilities;

    trace ("Capabilities.screenDPI:" + Capabilities.screenDPI);

    (2) If for example, the output is 72 dpi, when you import an image, it seems that Flash is resized to match what he thinks it's the resolution of the screen and in this case, its 72 dpi. So if the image has a higher resolution, he dimensionnera it down.

    You can try the following-

Create an image in Photoshop with say 300 dpi. Create a new one with a 72 dpi. Import both of them in Flash. The first image will be scaled down, but the second image retains its original size.

The solution is to make sure the graphic that you import is 72 dpi resolution.

You can use an image editor like IrfanView to check or adjust the DPI of the image that you use.

Let me know if it helps.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Roger Simon

  • Avoid duplicates when you import XMLs?

There are a few versions, we have fixed the problem to get the duplicate items when you import new projects in another.  This was very helpful.

However, I have noticed that when you import XMLs, first does not apply the same level of... discretion

Is it possible to get XMLs for import without creating duplicate items?  I found a workaround by first import the XML file into a new project and then import this project first to my main project... but when I'm in a great documentary film which takes 3-4 minutes to open each time, it's not ideal.

This is particularly important for people using the Pluraleyes because organize us images in first and then export to the EP, and then must bring with XMLs, and it would be great if we didn't have to do a bunch of media management manual to avoid duplicates in the project file.

    Thank you!

  • When you import something out of a DVD or CD...

When you import something off a DVD or a CD how to run Lightroom to copy imported images or a folder to a specific folder on my hard drive? It seems to default to moncatalogue but leaves the location on the CD rather than copy it to the drive. If I remove the CD images is reported as missing.

When I go to the top of the import screen I can change the source, but the location information to the right are not active or modifiable. I am new to lightroom and coming from Photoshop elements.

At the top of the Lightroom Import dialog box, you have several choices, including 'Add', 'Move', 'copy '. In this case, you must select "Copy" and then you should be able to specify the purpose specified in the right panel.

  • external hard drive mounts as the camera when you import videos in FCPX

When I try to import media into FCPX, my external HD rises like a camera and never displays anything (tricks and spins forever).

I have other external HD pairs and they mount as expected when you import. I can get to the external HD in question, it is just when I go to import items I hit a snag. I make changes to the properties of my library and changed back. Still have a problem. See screenshot of the Properties window and the import library. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I was not able to sort out what I did. Thanks in advance,
