  • The characters non-Unicode in certain error message strings now correctly view.
  • Four new bibliography styles are now available in the feature "Word citation and bibliography": Harvard Anglia, IEEE, sixth edition APA and MLA seventh edition.

  • Resolves a problem in which encryption settings are not configurable when used with a converter pack compatibility file format and Office 2003 or an earlier version of Office.
  • Resolves an issue in which an incident sometimes happens when an Excel workbook is open in Excel, and then presented a preview using the preview pane in Windows Explorer.
  • Resolves a problem in which Excel Slicers and Ribbon customizations are lost when a XLSX file is first recorded as ODS file and then saved as a file XLSX in Excel 2007.

  • Difference of ESXi hosts between analysis of updates and patches of scene

    Hello

I have two ESXi hosts with round about 700 applicable patches.

What is the difference between "stage Patches"und"search for updates"?

Do I need maintenance mode for the scene fixes?

    Hello

Scan for updates will scan the hosts against the basic lines of patch you have attached to them and to report on the status of this host against the base line, so, essentially, Scan for updates will tell you what patches and updates to your departure are absent from the host if the return "non-compliant" or "compliant" if all patches are already installed.  It can also return 'Unknown' or 'Inconsistent' according to the status of the host and other factors.

Step will basically copy all files to update and patch that must be installed to the willing host for the conversion, which will be more actually to install patches.  Staging of updates to date does not make service, you don't need to put the host in maintenance mode, while the staging, the host must be in service during the reclamation mode.  You can trigger a reorganization without staging, but the benefit of the staging is, first of all, you will reduce the amount of time that your host is out of action because all patches and updates are already in place in anticipation of final approval, which means that the rehabilitation phase is much faster.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows XP updates and patches...

I want to know when the support and the release of the XP operating system patches is going to end. I was able to find a date for Support extended until 2014, is that correct?

Security updates will be posted on the Microsoft Update Web site for the general public and the Extended Support phase.

  • When is it safe to remove the old updates and patches recover disk space?

I have a LONG list of updates from windows to windows xp, Media Player, microsoft, etc. in a way at the time where I got first computer and set on automatic updates. I'm sure that they consume valuable disk space but how do I know which ones can be deleted without problem?

Never. If you remove them, it defeats the purpose of the patch/security updates. Your calculation returns to a previous state vulnerable.

If you need space, get an external hard drive for all of your data.

  • Manager Update and patching ESX hosts

We have 2.5u3 with ESX 3.5u2 VC.

We want to use VMware Update Manager to patch the ESX host. I created a reference database containing patches ESX and attached to a host ESX to test. I have a scanner and it came with 28 patches that need to be installed, which is ESX update 1.

Why would it need to install ESX 1 update when we already run ESX Update 2?

No idea, or do I just exclude it?

This is a bug of gui... it will not be applied.

  • Windows 8 updates and patches manually.

I have lot of new computers with windows 8 is installed. Now I want to uptade all computers, but it will take a lot of bandwidth. Is it possible to download the update manually on the hard disk, and then update all of this storage instead of update all computers individually from the internet

If you can check the number of the required update, they can then be downloaded manually from the Microsoft Update Catalog.

  • Last update and security patch is causing my Sony Vaio suddenly Crash

I settled on the recommended automatic so I was not really expected a nightmare when instead of clicking the close option as usual, I pressed the power option keys which allowed the last version of Windows including the new security patch must be installed updates to Windows. When I tried to power my laptop again once he would only start for a second before turning off suddenly. He did this several times with the switch off the coast so sudden that I first thought it was a question of power, but what repair Windows came, he had a well-posed power my first thought.  The first repair attempt has not fixed the problem then the laptop restart cut again randomly during the boot. After several attempts to turn on, Windows repair came on once again, but in this case after ten minutes of "trying to fix" she came back with the result that it could not. However, I had the opportunity to do a system restore that seems fortunately to have worked. I am however faced with the problem of Windows once more want me to update my system. After what happened before, I'm not want to do. Is there a way around this so that this update and patch will install not or that can be installed without the nightmare of him causing the laptop repeatedly crash after.

  • Updates of patches and downloads for windows xp that took place after the release of sp3

Is there or will there be any type of packs of update that I can incorporate into my windows xp pro sp3 install cd using nlite [or not] would make it easier to keep my system up to date when I Custom installed my system?

I know that there is a very explicit "' response to sp4. I'm looking for the next great thing.

It's one pain in the end have to install windows, then all the .net stuff, light silver, patches and other from windows update, and slipstream, and then in an installation using nlite, so I can have it later when I re-install the operating system.

I think microsofts plan works however. I think to upgrade my xp system to vista sp2.

Thanks to a witness of anomaly.

    Hello

Unfortunately, there is no Pack update that you can install to keep your computer up to date. The only option is to download and install up-to-date or patches updates manually
After Service pack 3 because there will be no more service pack for XP.

  • Windows xp pro sp3 can not get updates - don't stop to check updates and nothing happens.

For the past 2 weeks I can't get windows on windows xp pro sp3 updates. The green bar that runs while the verification of updates just keeps running and running and does'nt stop until I have stop. No error codes at all.
Run the fix it tool and indicates "registration for the service is missing or corrupted" and it offers a solution for the problem of the does'nt.
What is the reference for this?

I had the same problem and you will spend one day trying many suggestions, including various Microsoft Fix - its, which none worked, and which some worse messing with the BITs service (that I then had to restore, losing even more time).

In the end, I found that the problem was related to the update of Cumulative security for Internet Explorer 8. There is a kind of incompatibility with previous versions of this update that causes IE stuck when he tries to check the updates.

The solution for me was to download and install the * last * IE Cumulative Security Update * manually * before you try to run Windows Update to get the other patches. Here's how:

    (1) using the Internet Explorer, I visited the current MS security bulletin page

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin

    (2) from there, I went to the latest summary (November 2013) and found the update of IE at the top of the list: "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (2888505).

    (3) I couldn't see direct links for just this update, so I copied the number of the Knowledge Base - 2888505 - and google for "Download KB2888505" (Bing didn't work by the way). This gave me the direct download link:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=41074

    (4) I have downloaded and run the update installer and then restarted (as required by the software update).

Microsoft/Windows Update restart worked. I repeated the same process on a second computer with the same problem and it worked also.

  • BIOS update problems. After SP3 update, I got the BSOD and cannot be run in Mode without failure.

Yesterday I went to the AMD site to download the latest version of the BIOS.  I installed the SP3 for XP and got the BSOD but no details, only four error codes after the Stop 0x0000007e.

Registered under a WinZip BIOS and when I opened it, it was defined as a file of VLC media player, which seemed poorly, and as a text file, which seemed wrong.  Earlier, but I had been able to open it, then run, and then he said that I had to stop so he could activate.  So when I said if turned off, the system said, hang on, it's not over and if you stop now, you may lose files.  So I waited, nothing happened.  So I did it again, and he says that you want to uninstall, suggesting it was already installed.

If it has been installed, it has obviously had no effect on my BSOD problem.  Only, I can boot into safe mode since I've upgraded to SP3.  And a question he says might be the problem, it's a BIOS updated.

Have I not two BIOS?  One for the CPU and one for the motherboard?  I went to update my ASUS MB, but who could have got WinZip number, not the AMD BIOS for the CPU.  Anyway, still getting the BSOD.  And when I started, I don't think that the version of the BIOS has changed.  But I could check my version against the latest versions, and I'm seriously out of date.

    I have an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6000 + 89v.

    Motherboard is ASUS M2N-SLI-Deluxe

I really don't think the updated BIOS updated.
