Maintenance windows

My research is to come dry so what functionality do HQ contain massive deactivation of alert during a Maintenance window?

The_Krummer

Let me clarify what happens in 3.1:

In our Enterprise Edition roles will have time windows where they
are able to receive (or more precisely not receive) alerts.  It comes
very useful when you have some teams who are responsible for
the problems at different times of the day - one who is the call
Gets the alert.

However, this does not prevent firing alerts.  We do not have
calendars associated with the actual definitions (yet).

If all you want is to not receive emails during the time
window, then EE 3.1 will have what you are looking for.  However, if
You also need the definitions of does not fire (and therefore not connect everything
alerts) so it will not.  It's something that we'll add in
very near future, as it is one of our most requested features.

    Thank you!

See the documentation for outages of electricity and schedules. It is quite flexible in what you can do for maintenance windows.

26 automated management of Database Maintenance tasks

Oracle database has automated many day-to-day maintenance tasks typically performed by database administrators. These automated maintenance tasks are carried out when the system load is expected to be light. You can enable and disable individual maintenance tasks and can configure these tasks and resource assignments at the time, they are awarded.

This chapter contains the following topics:

  • Oracle DB 11 g 1 material: stuck maintenance window

    Hello guys!

One of the predefined maintenance windows is 'stuck' in my Oracle DB.

    This is the scenario:

    OS: RHEL 5.7 x86_64

    Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 11.1.0.7.0.

Today developers report to me that their job is not executed automatically, so I proceeded to do a verification of the process to find the problem.

As a result of the verification process, I found that the value of the field 'Active' of the predefined maintenance window "SATURDAY_WINDOW" is set to TRUE.

I read about this condition and the conclusion is that it is definitely a problem. Therefore, I proceeded to run:

    RUN DBMS_SCHEDULER. CLOSE_WINDOW ('SATURDAY_WINDOW');

    I get these error messages:

ORA-00449: background process "terminated unexpectedly with an error

    ORA-06512: at "SYS." DBMS_ISCHED', line 347

    ORA-06512: at "SYS." DBMS_SCHEDULER', line 968

    ORA-06512: at line 1

I have read a document of MOS on "DBMS_SCHEDULER. "CLOSE_WINDOW works not properly" and I proceeded to run:

    SYS. DBMS_SCHEDULER. DISABLE ('SATURDAY_WINDOW');

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SYS. DBMS_SCHEDULER. ENABLE ('SATURDAY_WINDOW');

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    DBMS_SCHEDULER. OPEN_WINDOW ('SATURDAY_WINDOW', ");

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    RUN DBMS_SCHEDULER. CLOSE_WINDOW ('SATURDAY_WINDOW');

and I get the same error messages:

ORA-00449: background process "terminated unexpectedly with an error

    ORA-06512: at "SYS." DBMS_ISCHED', line 347

    ORA-06512: at "SYS." DBMS_SCHEDULER', line 968

    ORA-06512: at line 1

Please help me to close this Maintenance window.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

    Good afternoon!

But besides the above statements, I got to the stopping and starting of the Oracle DB.

After the start, the management of the "SATURDAY_WINDOW" window has closed.

Currently, I'm trying to disable sql tuning advisor and segment space Advisor during the week on a list of 10 g and 11 g databases.

Before you disable advisors, I need to know what DB is active and what daily maintenance window.

  • How to manually run Windows maintenance?

Windows 8 comes with Windows Defender, which I think is great. However, Windows maintenance is part of Windows Defender and is running "when [my] computer is inactive." I would like to manually run Windows Maintenance for a number of reasons, namely:

    1. my computer is almost never idle, I always turn off when I can.
    2. I am a gamer, and my PC is almost totally for the games. Because of paragraph 1, Windows Maintenance eventually run while I'm in the game, if I can get a drop decent in the FPS for about an hour.
    3. Windows update runs when Windows maintenance done, automatically install important updates. However, many 'important' updates are not important at all, as Intel Smart Connect Technology (Bloatware) IE10 updates (my default browser is Chrome). I need to choose what updates I want to install.
As you can see, it is not really beneficial for the maintenance of Windows run on a schedule for me, but I don't want to turn it off completely, because of the tasks of the system, it performs, which are very helpful. Could someone please tell me if it is possible to run Windows Maintenance manually and if so, how? If it is not possible, it is possible to disable the automatic updates, or other characteristics, the interview of Windows is running and if so, how?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I suggest to run Windows Defender and play your games manually.

. Are what maintenance Windows you referring? Are you referring to the Maintenance of the system?

    a. simultaneously press keys Windows symbol + W , type of system maintenance in the "search" tab and press enter.

    b. follow the onscreen instructions.

You can choose how the windows updates to be installed on your computer by following the steps:

    a. press the keys Windows + C on your keyboard and click on settings, click change PC settings.

    b. click Update & recovery; Click Choose how to install the updates.

    c. Select the Option as updates but let me choose whether to download and install them.

  • How do I know when my database started running window maintenance

Since a few days we experienced slow behavior in our database about 15:30.

At this time yesterday, I noticed that our database has performed a work of collection of statistics on the table.  Then I watched resource_manager_plan parameter and noticed that we were in a maintenance window.

Is it possible to say what date this window began to run.  The reason why I ask, is that there is a possibility that this windows has been activated last week accidentally.

    Thank you

HOW CAN I STOP MY COMPUTER TO DO MAINTENANCE AUTO THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS? MICROSOFT AUTOMATICALLY DOING MAINTENANCE ON MY COMPUTER, EVEN IF I TRY TO NEVER DO WITHOUT CHECKING FIRST WITH ME! IS IT POSSIBLE TO COMPLETELY STOP MY COMPUTER STOP ANY MAINTENANCE OPERATION, UNLESS I SEE IT FIRST, AND WHAT THEY WANT TO DO?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

What version of Windows is installed on your computer?

Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.

The automatic maintenance Windows reduces the impact to the PC in planning maintenance only when the PC is powered on and idle. By default, the system performs maintenance every day at 03:00. (Note that the user can set a new appointment in case of maintenance). This session is limited to a maximum of 1 hour per attempt. If the user is actively using the machine, the system differs maintenance until a later date. The system suspends also maintenance running any task, if the user returns to the PC.

We do not recommend disable you the automatic maintenance. However, if you want to disable, you can do it at your own risk. Please follow these steps:

    a. press Windows + R keys, type taskschd.msc in the immediate window and press ENTER.
    b. in the Task Scheduler, click with the right button on "maintenance of Maintenance & regular idling" and select "disable".
    c. you can now exit the Task Scheduler window and check if it is disabled or not.

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

  • Windows % u201cSystem % u201d performance

My CPU and network are running at almost 100%. How can I solve this problem?

Your post is off-topic for the forum for Feedback, so I moved it to the "Performance and Maintenance" window forum.  Please do not let your WIndows version a secret.

I can understand concerns about the use of the network, the truth is that the processors are always busy at 100%.  It is the only State that they can be.  If they don't run a process for you, then they run the Scheduler, or they run the idle process, but they are still and always running something.  Only when they have so many things to do that they cannot run programs that you initiated there is a cause for concern.

If I saw a lot of inexplicable network activity, I download and install Wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org/) to see if she could tell me the other end of traffic points.

  • Windows updates store files systems to storage drives

Both at work and at home, some windows updates (most recent xps prntr drvrs and maintenance windows Setup API) save files in places other than the HD systems. At work, that this is of particular concern because we express limited the size of the bootable hd (system disk) in order to reduce the size of image to backup an hour. With the files added to much larger data drives, the concern is if cela will impact features in windows if these files are not too graphic. We do not have the time or storage space to make all these whenever updates away from their appointed readers...

    Thanks, in advance

Windows Update download installers of updates on the drive with the most free space. Try disconnecting all external disks before you download an update.

Alternatively, you can delete the installer manually after the updates were installed.
