Make a linear path to a path of circle

I'm relatively new to Illustrator and trying to figure out how to change a linear object in a circle object. Below, you will see that I have a "River Road" (really just also spaced "waves" on a straigh line) in blue and a circular ring in yellow (crossed out red).river_circle.png

I want to wrap the "River Road" to replace the internal path race red of the donut/circle. [I would also like to make a second version with the 'waves' on the outside of the ring/circle, so help would both be great.] Basically, I want to take an anchor to the end of the path of the 'River' and wrap it around a circular path until it meets the other end anchor.

I tried using effect-> Warp-> Arc, and then copy the path and reflect, however, does not produce the effect of CRA real semicircle (see below).river_circle(arc).png

I read another thread here on the a with an 'art brush', but I don't know how to do this without more details than that post of the contours. If anyone knows how to do this with the art brush, I would be grateful orientation.

Or any idea for my goal - a doughnut with the waves on the inside edge (and then again on the outer edge).

CommCo,

An Artbrush like a wave will keep the number of ridges and stretched to fit the path, it is applied to.

You can:

(1) create the wave as a continuous path with the correct number of coats of arms;

(2) drag it to the paletee/panel shapes and drop it on the button new brush, just use the default values and name;

(3) select the path (inside/outside), and then click the brush of wave.

If you have ridges on the opposite side of a path, you can either create an another Artbrush checking everywhere, Flip or reverse paths (one way is to use the free reverse script here: http://park12.wakwak.com/~shp/lc/et/en_aics_script.html).

And you can adjust the height of the wave/thickness by changing the weight of the race in the stroke palette/Panel.

You can call this function without wiring to a path of the input file.  If this is the case, the function prompts the user for input file using a pop up dialog box.  If a file is selected and you press OK, it is the path of the file that is out of the function as the new path of the file.  If you press the button cancel instead of OK, the "not a path" constant is the new output file pathname.  If the function is called with a wired file path entry dialog box appears, the same path of file entry becomes the new output file path.

  • Help! Can't make a compound path!

I am an experienced user of FreeHand and feel like a guy blind in a maze trying to use Illustrator! I'm redrawing the Logo of the Realtor who is a simple square, and inside which are a rectangle, triangle and an arc with a flat edge on the left. When combined, resemble the letter R reversed on a black box. When I select all the elements and tell him to make a compound path, only the rectangle knocks out the place of the background and the semicircle and the triangle just appear grouped with the square instead of knocked out! I tried everything, including moving the square to the front and the back, etc. How do you find if the semicircle that I drew is a closed path? I did the half circle by drawing a circle and a square and then using pathfinder to edit them in a sharp left flat circle. The triangle, I've simply drawn with the pen tool. I'm lost in this program!

    Duffer,

    You can do this way:

Select all three forms in front and the place and the Pathfinder > less before.

  • How to make a circular path of camera

    Hi all

If I'm using Orbit Camera Tool, it creates a linear camera path. How can I create a circular? I need the camera to move smoothly, but not as a series of linear route.

I could add vertices to a path and edit manually, but no doubt, there is an easier way to do this.

    Please notify.

    Thank you!

Maltaannon has a good tutorial on building a platform camera to achieve with ease - and a script to automate if you want to speed things up for a price.

  • What makes a storage path ensures relative to assets?

I was looking around our new facility vSphere 4.1 and noticed in the section ways of managing a data store that there are 2 iSCSI connections listed but it said active and told the day before. Wouldn't be better to have two assets so they could be used at the same time? We will add more connections and would be nice to use at the same time. How are you going to change that or which is done by the selection of the path type? (see attachment)

    Here's how it works:

When a storage array is attached, vSphere queries table to determine its capabilities.  Of this, it determines which path to use selection plugin.

Given your screenshots, it seems that you have a form any of the picture of LSI, which most is ALUA arrays.  For a description of what it really means, read my blog post, and then come back to: http://blog.cowger.us/2011/07/03/alua-active-arrays/

Using provides the information in the table, host (vSphere) can determine which paths are "optimal" (and so should be active) and which are not (they would face a sentence of use and must be on standby only).

Under access roads 'Fixed', the host uses only the path defined to send data commands unless its not available, in which case it will change to a secondary road.  When the main path comes back, it passes in return.  Fixed paths is a bit rare these days.  You use only 1 channel and 1 controller at a time.

Under pathing MRU, the host uses the path most recently used to send data commands and passes only when the path in use is unavailable.  It does not back automatically (to avoid some problems related to the intrusions of LUNS).  You use only 1 channel and 1 controller at a time.

Under Robin, the host passes quickly (by default, every 1000 orders) between all the * asset * paths (those reported by the table to be optimized).  You use yet only 1 channel and 1 controller at a time, but you switch between them.

Using the default vSphere Multipathing plugin, there is no way to simultaneous use of more than 1 channel at any time.  To do this, you need a form any balancing of the actual load, which are usually addons.  The only ones I know who don't are the MEM (usable only with arrays EQL) Equallogic and the EMC PowerPath/VE plugin, which can use all the paths to the storage at the same time (with EMC and some other tables).

    I hope this helps.

    (warning, I work for EMC).

  • What makes the modified path

    Hello

I have a way with a variable width profile applied and if I try to cut the path halfway, I effect "width", used for both ways.

    How can I do this?

    Hello

I think that your question do not relate in any case at the APEX.
I guess, you should seek to answer how to change the message on the file-sharing service.

    Kind regards

  • Selection of objects by path type (circles vs places)

    Hello

I know that it is possible to select the paths with the same attributes is possible by select > same color etc or by magic wand to fill. But right now I have a situation with a lot of individual (200-300) overlapping circles with more than 200 to 300 places. Unfortunately, they are not combined, have the same opacity, fill color, stroke color and STROKE weight. If the only difference is we have Bézier curves, because it's circle and the other has none of Bezier curves because it's a rectangular shape. Is it possible to select the type of the channel, as only select traces of Bezier curve? Or are there other methods that I can differentiate the squares circles and select them?

I'm working on Illustrator CC 2014 and Windows

    Thank you

    Omer Beijing

It is a technique developed by Kurt Gold

1 make a pattern on an empty rectangle brush

2 Add a corner element which is made of one of the squares, recolored. You must create a square invisible background for the brush of boss at work

Apply the brush to one of the squares.

Apply also to the effect > Pathfinder add at the bottom of the pile Appearance

Make a graphic style out of this.

Then apply this graphic style of all your items

Select all. Object > expand appearance

You can now use the magic wand or something else.

  • Linear wipe curve/overshadowed a globe/circle 2D

I've only used After Effects CS5 for a few months now, so please forgive my newness in advance.

I have a rotating globe in my animation that runs for a few seconds and the customer logo "linear wipes" from left to right with the speed of the spinning planet. The globe then vanishes behind the logo. Nothing special.

No amount of feathering can hide how right this wipe line is.

The client and I feel it would be better if the wipe from left to the right follow the curvature of the globalization, in other words, a "new moon" to a 'full Moon'... only, no Moon, my clients round logo

Naturally, I'd like something built agri-environment or even a simple gift that I could buy before you try all this down and dirty, but everything that makes the work will be great!

    Thanks in advance to all!

Change the shape of the mask. You can animate each of the points. Add a few feathers. Do some research on gradient wipes... Post a screenshot so we have an idea of what you're trying to do. If possible create half a transition through Photoshop.

There is not much in the way of a transition cannot be done in AE with masks or gradients.

  • Make a selection work path

  • Simplify a path imported excel

I made a cloud of points-line graph in excel with a large amount of data points. Then I printed this chart in pdf format and pulled up in illustrator. The curve exists now as a path, but the path is not linear. It basically has a thickness that makes it almost impossible to work with by dragging anchor points. How to simplify this path to make it linear? I know that it is possible to make the linear line, as he did my teacher, I don't know how he did. The black path in the image below is my example and the image of the blue track is example of my teacher (which is what I want mine to look like). Thank you!Bad path.jpgGood path.jpg

For any future reference if anyone has this same issue, I was able to solve the problem by exporting the excel chart in PDF format rather than print the chart in PDF format.

  • How to keep a relative path in a global variable

    Hello

I use Teststand 2013 and 2013 of Labview

Is it possible to set a relative path to a global variable in the Teststand? E.g. "... \vector1." HWS.

Or should I use Labview functions to solve this problem?

    .

    Thank you

The railways are much easier to handle in LabVIEW.  Thus, you can store the relative path as a string and then use LabVIEW to make the absolute path.

I usually store a file into a global variable and then I can just concatinate the strings to build the absolute path.  For example:

    FileGlobals.Folder = "C:\\foo\\bar\\"
    Locals.Path = FileGlobals.Folder + "blah.txt".
