  • Can not select "trace path" in a way that I created through 'Make work path' in CS6

    Hi, I tried to do a job (using this tutorial, http://goo.gl/kUj2YX), but when I get to the step to trace the path that I did, I cannot select "stroke path".

    I've read similar to this discussion, but none of them helped me to solve this problem.

    Can you help me please?

    Screen Shot 2014-06-05 at 9.09.48 PM.png

    You need to have the selected path as indicated, you must also have an active or brush tool and I do not see your layers palette, but you must have a layer on which you can add pixels: normal layer.

  • Why I can't make a selection with my selection of the path tool?

    While following a tutorial, now I am unable to make a selection of track.  I know how to select a path, have done it before, but now my selct path tool does not select a path.  Change settings or something else that I'm not aware of?  Any help would be appreciated.

    There should not be any kind of changes of parameters which could trigger this kind of behavior. Every time the tool to stop functioning properly, you should try to reset things. Try to reset the tool first. With the path Selection tool selected, go to the top, tool Options bar click on the first box, which shows you the tool icon that you are currently using. In the drop-down menu that appears, click on the small arrow inside a circle button and select Reset Tool. If this does not work, try to re-create the application preferences by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Command + Option + shift) at the launch of Photoshop. You will be asked to delete the settings file, click Yes. This will reset a lot of Photoshop its default settings, so you can save some things.

  • Less prior error: "the filter yielded no results.  Please select two paths that intersect. »

    Hello Adobe community.

    I'm a newbie to Adobe Illustrator and I am currently working on some homework for my class.  I use the latest version of Adobe Illustrator (creative cloud 17.1).  I try to use the function less front of Pathfinder and I get an error message: "the filter yielded no results.  Please select two paths that intersect. "I created three identical shapes directly above the other.  The very high shape was slightly offset to the left.  I put in all forms and tried to use the plan less first and got the error.

    This is the tutorial I'm trying to make:

    http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/use-a-pattern-brush-to-create-a-rope-text-effect-in-i Illustrator - vector-24814

    I'm trying the first step 4.  But I can't go forward until I get this error.  As you can see in this tutorial, there will be a lot of use with the plan less first function.

    Thank you!!!

    Waterman, please start a new post with a screenshot or supporting details so we can even try to answer your question. Guilty plea include what version of Illustrator and operating system you are using.

    We need to know exactly what items you have. You can have a mask, a net of gradient in your article, they may not overlap and the list goes on.

  • Why 'Do the work path' give lousy paths?

    I do not use Photoshop a lot, so I bet, I'm missing something obvious. Lately I drew hollow ellipses on top of existing photos, with results miserable.

    I was making a selection and stroking the selection (should I do something different)?

    If I make the selection into a path, with 'do the work... path. " "(or the icon which is not pop up a dialog), it gives paths very bad appearance with distortion.

    If I caress with Edit > stroke, so it's great. (So I'll just use Edit > stroke).

    But I understand why.

    Here is a screenshot:

    The left is a striped work path.

    The

    paths.png

    The left one is the path of work. The circle in the Center is to Edit > stroke. The path on the right is the way of working of a circle.

    All the circles created with SHIFT by dragging between the elliptical selection tool, then they shuould be the same.

    The defined tolerance as low as possible, to 0.5.

    12.0.2 Photoshop x 64 under OSX 10.6.7, but this problem is not new.

    It is in mathematics. You have business with creates a vector object based raster data, then caressing it.  You can create similar things in Photoshop, but there is always a better way of doing things. Now that you know how do better elsewhere, you may want to give up on making the wrong way.

  • Problem filling and selecting with Paths.jsx

    I copied the Paths.jsx from Adobe Photoshop CS5 Scripting reference Javascript, p. 141.  It works OK.  It is a path which is the outline of an ice cream cone and caressing it with the current foreground color.

    I then tried to fill in the path and who doesn't.  I tried the 3 methods by using the following additional codes and changing from false to true:

    Fill the path

    fillColor = new SolidColor

    fillColor.rgb.red = 255

    fillColor.rgb.green = 0

    fillColor.rgb.blue = 0

    try {

       if (false) {

    / / It works and gives a gray fill, which is neither the

                  // color of foreground and background

    / / Only the ice cream cone is selected and filled

    myPathItem.fillPath)

       } else if(false) {

    / / With a specified color, it does not work

    myPathItem.fillPath (fillColor)

           } else if(true) {

    / / This is a selection of the PathItem, he selects and fills

    / / Only the ice cream cone is selected and filled

    myPathItem.makeSelection (0, fake, SelectionType.REPLACE)

    selRef = app.activeDocument.selection;

    selRef.fill (fillColor, ColorBlendMode.NORMAL)

    }

    } catch(ex) {

    MSG = "fill path error: \n" + ex.message

    alert (true msg, "Exception",);

    }

    They do as say the comments.  None of them not what I expected.  For the second way, the error message is:

    General Photoshop error occurred.  Maybe this feature is not available in this version of Photoshop

    -Could not complete the command because of a program error.

      1. I do not understand why only the part of the cream of the cone is filled or selected (the third table).  I can manually make a selection from the path to the PS and it also only selects the part of the ice cream.  All lines are scratched.  Only the upper part is filled or selected.

      2. FillPath does not work why?

    I can provide the script if necessary.  I'm an experienced programmer but new Photoshop scripts.  Is this a bug or I do something wrong?

    Thanks for any help.

    It is not a bug. The path that you created has 3 open subpaths with two lines. Barrier does not work on open lines. It will fill the arches open and/or closed paths.

    One way to fill the cone would be to create as a point three closed the path instead of only two lines.

  • URGENT: Select highest path?

    Hello

    I'm sorry to post a formidable question of 'URGENT', but the fact is that I get to my eyeballs in work and the fall of delay on one of the largest projects in my life. I'm even willing to pay someone for their time, if that is acceptable.

    What I need to do, is the next process in Illustrator CS3 Mac OS X Leopard to script:

    (1) select the path over the top of the page

    (2) remove the slected path

    (3) select all

    (4) make the clipping mask

    5) save in EPS

    -NOTE: I have to be able to customize the name of the file at this point by hand

    -For reasons of production, the EPS must be version 8. If this can be set automatically. Excellent!

    (6) cancel (Yes... Undo, not cancel mask)

    I realize, this is a very specific workflow, but this is how it must be for this project. Every work of art in question is compatible version 8 already, and there is no direct text anywhere. We usually do this exact series of steps manually every day, but I work a meeting a project that has hundreds of itterations against 1 to 10 or so we usually.

    Please, someone has suggestions on how to be able to automate this for me?

    Thank you

    Tony

    Notes are added in the Panel. The command "Select object" in the Actions panel menu uses the note to make the selection.

  • How can I get rid of an outline of work-path in a 3D extrusion?

    Hello, experts. I use Photoshop CS6 current El Capitan and tried to make a 3D wine glass, put in the hands of one person in a family photo. Well, in this area, I managed, but the original sketch of the work path shows one side of the wine glass, completely ruin the effect! Is it possible to remove this contour and end up just with the wine glass, or am I stuck with it? If so, it doesn't seem to be much interest to create 3D objects.

    Thanks in advance for all the tips.

    FTT

    When you apply the texture of the glass to your wine glass extrusion material you also add it to the other material wine glass before inflation bevel/back inflation/front/rear bevel?
    With a pattern like a wine glass where the original front and rear sides were shrouded by 360 degrees and combined, you have to make sure that they have the same transparency as the rest.

    Click on each in the 3D Panel and assembled the same glass material that you used for the extrusion.

  • Would it not be possible to make a selection based on the percentage instead of pixels? For example: 90% left, 5% of the upper part.

    Im having a little trouble getting a Photoshop Action to work the way I need to.

    Product photos are taken in different batches, and the only thing that is guaranteed, it must be transparent in the upper right. This means I need an action that makes a selection with the 'magic wand' tool and is independent to define an absolute selection through pixels (see images below).

  • Scale or make a selection of pixel on Photoshop

    Hello guys,.

    I have Photoshop CS6 and when chipping or make a selection I use a mouse, which, of course, is not entirely accurate (it ignores pixels) when I am forced to choose something of perfectly, scale or move an item.

    Is there a way that I can make a selection, resize or move accurately says, without having to fight with the mouse?

    Thank you in advance,

    Fabry

    Hi Fabry

    You can make very specific changes on the scale using the fields in the Options bar with free transform.

    Selections depend on what you're trying to do, but one thing you can do is add Guides in specific locations using linear or percentage values, if you know exactly where you place the guides.  This will only work with rectangular selections, but the marquee tool will snap to the guides.

    Does this help?  Give us more details if not.

  • make a selection with an alias

    I have a lot of images which have been made out of 3DS MAX. A long time ago that I recorded an action to do an alpha channel, use it as a mask and save it as 2 different file types. Worked very well. Now, I need to open a bunch of them and somehow, get rid of the anti aliasing around the image. I need jaged edge. I did some how in the past using threshold (I think), but can't for the life of me what I've done. Any ideas on how to make a selection with an alias?

    Thank you

    Dean

    You have an alpha channel, which has levels of grey in it?

    Simply use the threshold on this alpha channel.

  • Select the path using script

    Hello

    Every now and I have a lot of images to save for web (1-2 k images at once). All images are .psd or path or transparent background. I want to select the path and erease backgrount possible triming. The roads are named different, so this is another problem because the actions in photoshop select only the specific name of the track. So, it is possible to select the path regardless of his name? Or how to write the script of selection of several path names (IE "track 1", "path 2", "choice 1"...) I hope you understand what I want to do...

    I have another script that resizing of images to corect size and save for web. So when I have jpg with white backgroound first I run action in photoshop to cut images and then I run the script to resize all the images, because the script to check if the image is larger or more...

    If you want more information, just ask... I have version CS5 Photoshop

    Kind regards

    voahyeah

    Edit:

    For now, I wrote this:

    app.activeDocument.pathItems.getByName ('path 2') .makeSelection ();

    app.activeDocument.selection.invert ();

    app.activeDocument.selection.clear ();

    and he choose only if the path name is "path 2" else it stops... "."

    So when the personal is way 2 everything is fine but I have 10-15 different names... so it would be great avoid the path names. It is possible to select the first HRAP (if there is more than one)

    or if it is not possible to avoid the path name how wrote if els if block for it to check all path names...?

    ... Thank you

    Hi Voahyeah,

    Here's the Code...

    If (app.documents.length > 0) {}

    var app.activeDocument = docRef;

    var n = docRef.pathItems.length;

    If ((n>0) & (.name docRef.pathItems [0]! = "Work path")) {}

    docRef.pathItems [0] .makeSelection ();

    docRef.selection.invert ();

    docRef.selection.clear ();

    docRef.trim (TrimType.TOPLEFT);

    docRef.selection.deselect ();

    }

    };
