  If you save your picture in jpeg format, you cannot have transparency. The jpeg format simply doesn't support transparency. You must save in .png, .psd, .tiff formats.

  Note that the layer "background" in the layers palette must be transformed into a 'standard' layer to keep the transparency. Menu layer > New > layer.

  The Enter key on the numeric keypad is a default column break. Some portable computers map the two enter keys together, and in these cases, the number lock toggle usually affect the behavior that see you.  Best way around, is changing the shortcuts keyboard and mak that BOTH enter keys a paragraph break in text mode.

  Set your resolution to be higher.  Right click on your desktop, go to personalize, then choose the resolution down.  Set it to the highest setting.

  Another option is to put the Options bar of the Rectangle rounded to the path tool

  Trash bolt for the background layer, hold down the Cmd key and click on the symbol of the new layer to layer below the image to white. Then edit > fill with white.

  Return the image layer and draw the image as a path

  Click the load as a selection path in the Panel traced

  Edit > stroke and stroke with color

  Select > Inverse > delete
