Malicious site asking Apple ID

I am posting this here because I hope in some the message will get to someone at Apple and they may have more success in the action on this subject than me.

I received an email telling me someone tried to access my Apple account and I needed to connect to the link and change my Apple user and password, I knew that he was a jerk because he just looked right and when I clicked on the link I saw he was sent to a domain that is not apple the e-mail was as follows (without the gray lines):

APPLE LOGO

Dear customer:

The link directs the user to a web page that is made to look like a web page from Apple, but is obviously not and ask the user and the password for your Apple account. I haven't used this of course, but some people will enter the information.

Now, I am posting this here because as "chat support" (1) Hostmonster of which hosts the Web site where it is where basically usless, they say they can do nothing about it until tomorrow, no doubt, it's as if the media is a place that is not really understand English and have programmed responses and website Apple (2) has no link for people to report these things too... waiting for people who fall for This probably enter their credit card details in the Web page.

I really don't understand why a company like apple or any business with a connection system does not have a way to report on these issues, I would have thought it was in their interest to know about it as soon as possible so that they could try to stop, they certainly could have more chances to have reported the problem I seem to have.

These sorts of things fly anywhere in the world at any time of the day.   You were knowledgeable enough to spot (and kind enough to report it here) but the best approach now is to post of official scam of Apple mail report link.   Send a copy to [email protected] incidentally Apple always meet you in your name when sending mail.

This is because the part of the page button is loaded into an iframe, as you can see if you click on the button install free
You get only the button allow if this button is located in the home page and not when the button is in an iframe.

You've obviously got service pack installation problem (which one, in passing, SP1 or SP2?).

I'm not qualified to answer why your computer crashed the last time that you have installed the service pack.

Suggest you take this issue of pack service for a more technical forum like the one below:

It's a legitimate anti-malware application created by Malwarebytes. I am actually responsible for this product, a Director of Malwarebytes.

It is possible, if you have had service from Apple recently, that an Apple technician can have downloaded this. They will sometimes use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac to eliminate the threats they find on Mac which is the subject of service. It is also quite possible that you may have downloaded some time earlier this year and just don't remember.

However, if your Mac is running OS X 10.6.8 is unable to run any version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac, so you can remove it from your computer.

  • some sites ask me to rember the name of the newspaper. If I do not accept some of them keep the valid name and others do not display them more.

On some website, I have to login. If I Iam asked to remember the name of this connection. If I agree, some of these sites do not come until the next time with my username, but others.
I can't find where I have to make sure that all Web sites, if any, do not forget my user name and/or password.

Do you hear the names and passwords in the password manager or do you mean that you are connected is no longer on to (remember to) Web sites after the closing and restarting Firefox?

There is a difference between remembering the name and the password in the password manager and a check box "remember me" on a web page.

The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and which is sent to the server.

If that "remember me" cookie is deleted or is corrupted or is not send to the server, then the server remember that you and you must connect once again.

  • Before loading the site asked, another site is loaded all the ads have installed malware stuff but do not stop it

When I entered a Web site, in particular of Google, before my shipment of the requested site, another site is loaded - one for the advertising of other websites, etc. In order to get to that I entered, I come back (with the help of the arrow of the Web site), and then really hit enter on my keyboard. I thought it was some sort of Mal-ware, but who have cleaned, but he always does this - it's driving me crazy!

Make a check of malware with some scan of malware programs. You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database prior to scanning.

  • Safari is so incompatible with many government sites - why apple can't fix?

I find it pretty amazing that after all these years, I can't use safari on my Mac to deal with MOST Government Web sites. Drop-down lists that exist is the most common problem. Happened again today - without drop-down menus! Its a very common experience that usually leaves me puzzled until I tell myself its Safari not me!

So the $ 64 question is why Apple with its billions of dollars in the Bank, not to address these problems of incompatibility. I just settle permanently in Google Chrome and remove Safari, so I can't deal with this situation? Am I missing something?

  • I have a web site asking me a password for my computer.

Trying to login to the members area on the guides of the canada site, I get a pop up of secutiry windows request a password for my computer.  I've never set up a password.  It is the only site that does this.  How can I get around it?

Just for the bowl to the possibility that their Web site generates dialog boxes, I suggest you take a screenshot & ask them-their email address is supportedforgirlguides.zendesk.com [replace at with the symbol - @ this forum removes e-mail addresses so I could just paste here normally].

To create a screenshot, press your PrntScrn key while the dialogues are on the screen and then go to paint or another graphical editor & paste the image in there.  You can attach the screenshot to your email for them.

If you have Skydrive or some other account to share files online, download the screenshot it and post a link to it in your next post.  If your graphics software helps crop you or resize the images then 445 pixels or less whole so you can just display it in your forum post as I did above.

  • How can I give any who access a form via my site, ask them to sign it and have it sent to me, without me having to ask their signature by e-mail?

Ideally, there will be a link on my Web site where they are able to access this form, sign it and then it is sent by email to me, signed. This way I can quickly get the pdf file and fax it to the previous provider and ask for their records.

  • A Web site asks me to install Adobe Reader, but I have already installed...

    Hello!

I'm trying to access a portion of a Web site and it asks me to install Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat) to access the content of the Web site.

    Here's what it looks like:

    Abobe.PNG

It is written in French, but it is translated by for best results, open this PDF with Adobe Acrobat 9 or Adobe Reader 9, with a more recent version.
And the link says to Download Adobe Reader now

The thing is, I have already installed Adobe Reader on my computer. I installed the version is the 11th.

What can I do now to access the content of this Web site?

Thanks for reading my question, I hope that we will succeed!

You may need to try a different browser. Many browsers use their own pdf viewers now as you can see, can cause problems.

You can also try a right click and save the PDF on your computer and then using file > open from drive to see.

  • a Web site asks me to install something, I'm not sure that it is legitimate

    Hi, all.

on a tourist site, I clicked on the link for a list of shopping places. I get a notice that says: "you must install this thing to get this link to work." It has a logo of firefox, but I'm still nervous, having obtained Burns very badly once with a pop-up that said he was of the people 'windows' and it really wasn't.

    This is what it says-

You are currently browsing the web with Firefox and your VCR may be outdated

Please install the latest Codec Pack for optimal performance

Supports MP3, WMA, RealVideo, RealAudio, DivX, XviD
Based on FFDShow and Haali splitter
One install for all your codecs needs
100% Free & Safe - share it with your friends

is it possible for me to do that, or should I run away as fast as I can?

    Thanks - susie margaret

NO - I would not allow the installation of a Codec pack just to get 'something' in a Web page that I just found out...
