Malware questions as well as Windows system files is damaged or altered by SFC scan

Original title: SCF/scannow

I had a Malware problem and suspected that one or more of the windows system files is damaged or altered.

I ran scannow procedure and she confirms in fact that there is a problem with one or more system files.

My question is how I decipher, in the log file that result, just what requires attention as the layout and the language of the log file seems to be designed to be only understood by-"wet behind the ears, spotty geeks face".

Hello

DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe / Online/Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

d. to close the administrator: command prompt window, type Exitand press enter.

I also suggest you to run Microsoft Safety Scanner to check for any infection by virus. Check out the following link to do the same thing.

System File Checker is not a universal solution, but it can help in certain situations.

You really ned to determine the nature of the error before deciding on solutions.

    1. normally, when an error occurs on your computer looking in Event Viewer should be your starting point to find a solution. More related system errors are recorded and get an exact copy of the relevant report is important. 2 Event Viewer includes three main newspapers of Windows. Here's the Application, security, and system. For purposes of troubleshooting system is by far the most important.

    3. to access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs. Place the cursor on the system, right click and select filter current log. Check the front of the error and click OK and see you only reports errors. Click the Date and time column header to sort. You may need to click a second time to see the last report above.

    4. a tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. Select the Details tab and check the box in front of the XML view. Click the copy button to place a copy in the Clipboard and close Event Viewer. Now start your message and paste it into the body of the message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    6. all reports have stamps date and hour and when troubleshooting, it is important to focus on the latest reports. Reports of studies from the point when the computer is started, and then check if a similar report appeared in the previous session. If errors do not repeat investigation as to why they happen is wasted effort.

    7. in the individual reports the most important information is the event ID and Source such as these help when looking for help on the internet. I have an IBM ThinkPad G40, GHz Type 2384, model 33U, which = Nr 2384 - 33U, in July 2003 with a Pentium 4, 2.4, with 1.2 GB of RAM.  It's a great laptop and I would nurse it back to health.  I recently did a backup, so I can reformat and start over, if I have to.

    Hi BaTaylorEsq,

You need Win XP installation disk to repair the corrupted files, and no you can't use discs of recovery or any other original files on your C: drive to repair a missing or damaged file.

I have repaired several times Win XP with installation disc, it is very simple. I suggest you do some reading from instance however link:- http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm#RI

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

    Hi Olivia Lee.

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. has the recovery disk provided by Compaq?

    3. what happens when you try to boot from the recovery disc?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to use the recovery disk to repair Windows XP as these recovery discs are very different from the original Windows XP.

Therefore, you will need to make arrangements for an original CD of Windows XP and later to perform the installation of Windows XP.

Refer to method 2 in the below Microsoft article on how to repair Windows XP installation.
