  I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit system and I have problems with windows update since early April.

  I just bought a new Hp laptop running Vista Home Premium 64-bit, and I can't access files shared on my home network. My network is made up of two desktop computers under Vista Home Premium (32 bit), a file server under Linux Zubuntu, two laptops running XP (32-bit) business and three laptops running vista Home Premium, both 32-bit and my new 64-bit machine. The last two days I've been set up file sharing on the network and addition of new network hardware. I can access the file server of all computers on the network except the HP 64 - bit, both Vista and XP machines and I can access shared folders on each computer from any other computer except for the 64-bit HP. Network discovery is very slow and sometimes find other machines and sometimes does not work, and he never finds each of them. Even if a computer is discovered, I can't connect to it, I get the following message is displayed, the "error code 0 x 80070035 than the network path not found." I also tried to mount shared folders as a network drive using the name of the server and the ip address and the same error message. I tried changed the compatibility level lm ntlmv2 only ntlmv1 or v2 using regedit, but that had no effect. I also tried to disable the autotunning with no result.   Thanks for all the help, I'm not sure what the problem was caused by, but I have disabled the function of my router routing and establish linux as my new gateway machine and now I can access everything! I think the problem might have originated with the dhcp on the router but I'm not sure... It was a belkin n + wireless router. Everything is good, now, however, thanks for your time!

• sfc/scannow foud the corrupted files after upgrade from Vista Home Premium 32 bit

  It is an event that I went through:

  (1) recently I received a bunch of updates to Vista Home Premium 32 bit, after I did the update I decided to perform sfc/scannow task and this is the error message I got the "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and managed to fix them." Details are provided in the CBS.log windir\logs\CBS.log newspaper. For example c:\windows\logs\CBS\CBS.log

  Repair of system files change will take effect after the next reboot.

  (2) so I did restart and then try to run the sfc/scannow task once again, but I still got the same message I described in step 1 again. So basically sfc/scannow function did not repair the corrupted files.

  (3) the next step, I decided to perform a repair Installation of visa which took me 10 hours to complete the task, once the task of upgrading of repair has been made and before the windows update, I ran sfc/scannow task and this time he finds any corrupted files, but after I updated windows sfc/scannow result was the same as step 1.

  It is obvious to me that one of the updates of the origin of this problem, but find it me hard to pinpoint that one. So I am writing this e-mail to help and I hope that the problem will soon be solved. Please let me know if you need me to submit the CBS.log file for you to review thanks in advance.

  I suggest you to view update history to see which update might be causing the problem.

  (a) open Windows Update by clicking Start , all programs, and then Windows Update.

  (b) in the left pane, click view update history.

  (c) to display more information about an update, double-click it.

  Once you know Update KB number, provide us with the same for later analysis. You can also try the steps in the article and see if it helps.

  You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

  They should do this for a small fee.

  To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

My spooler file got corrupted and I need to know what that the stamp of date/time on the latest version of the file: spoolsv.exe. I did a search on my hard drive and found 8 copies of the file with 7 different dates. I need to know which copy in my file C:\windows\system32\. I suspect that the problem was caused by some kind of malware. I think that some of the different versions on my machine of the initial installation of the Vista, SP1 and SP2. 3 copies that would explain. I tried all the suggestions in this forum and several others. I tried sfc/scannow and it simply replaces the corrupted file by another. I understand how works this file and a simple copy will do the trick if I knew that the file to use. I know that I don't want to go back to the first version of 2006.  BTW... my symptoms are all my printers have disappeared, and when I try to 'add a new printer' I get an error message saying that my spooler service does not work. When I opened my services window it shows that indeed, he is arrested, but I will not start because the description column contains only the code garbled machine indicating that the file is corrupted, or it may contain a virus. I had been using F-Prot until this virus got by and now I use AVG. I scanned my machine with several cleaning packages and it is is more infected, but I worry that from this corrupt file grow something. I know that the problem is not with my printers or drivers, because everyone on my home network can print on all of my printers. None of the people I know are on Vista 32 bit.   This is not an upgrade from Windows 7 to Vista.

  It is a downgrade that Vista is the previous operating system before Windows 7 came out and you would have to BUY a COMPLETE of Vista version and do a fresh install of Vista; but before you buy Vista, check first that your computer manufacturer provides the Vista drivers for your model computer.
