Manage data stored on app removal issues

I just went through this article

Manage the data recorded during the withdrawal of an application

and a few things are still is unclear to me. Can be up to me

It is said

Understood. Large. Makes sense.

then the following line messes things, at least for me.

Now, in saying an application stores an object with a package named com.mycompany...

the author is an object IN a package or what?

The vector object belongs to Java.util; package,

and you can use it in your application by importing it into your package.

The logic would be: If you use a vector object in your application in your app package for store items and no other application does refer to this set the persistent object containing the vector object is removed.

The other method by wrapping a vector object in your own class is understood but seems to be a pirated upward.

The other question.

Not a word about how to keep the persistent object if a user wishes to immediately remove an application.

Say, I have an application that stores data using the persistent model.

I want to delete it for some reason any.

Now, on the deletion, the application must ask me (the user)

If I want to remove persisted data or keep it.  A dialog YES / No.

So, if later I decided to install the same version or a new version, the persistent data are available the application.

Any thoughts on the issue?

Thank you

You are right, that the Application should run with a thread of event, the listener to be invoked.

Regarding the packaging, I am happy with both approaches, but I have to be honest I don't see a significant difference between your own vehicle or with your own object.

Ranging from vector and use do not create another object, it creates a different object.  But if it's your vector or vector standard, it is still just an object.  Or have I missed something?

  • How to remove navigation data stored by Mozilla Sync?

I was on my laptop and I was shocked to discover the history of my office, my mobile navigation. A story that was supposed to have been removed. I'm mystified by what could happen. Then I thought about Mozilla's Sync which I just started. That must be it. Mozilla has synchronized the browser quickly, history just before it was removed safely. Now, these data are stored by Mozilla - where? In the cloud, I presume. I don't know what the hell the cloud is, but I know I want to store my browsing history from Mozilla here. So what can we do about it? Historical navigation and other sensitive data poses security and privacy risks. Maybe I did not read all the information and instructions on the timing when I started. BUT Mozilla really need to be more clear about that Sync will be storing these data from the computer of the user. Is it possible to delete the data stored by Mozilla? I know that the user can control which are synchronized data, but Mozilla should have had a more obvious explanation on how this synchronize data will be stored.

You can change the password of the account to erase all data stored on the synchronization server Sync.

The new Sync version currently used still uses the synchronization key to encrypt the data locally before you download, but this sync key is generated internally from the password of your account in Firefox, so you no longer need to worry about this.
This means that sync key changes when you change the password of the Firefox account and you will lose all data stored on the server synchronization that.

  • Is the data stored for the forms also encrypted the passwords?

I know that the passwords for different Web sites are stored locally in an encrypted file. I would like to know if this is also the case for the form data. Is data stored locally for the forms also encrypted the passwords?

No, the form data is not encrypted if you save form data in Firefox

  • FileVault will affect the data stored in the Cloud services?

If I would turn on my Mac FileVault to encrypt my drive Fusion, this effect the data stored on both cloud services? In other words: with FileVault is active, all the data and documents I am storing in iCloud Drive, Dropbox or Google Drive since my Mac is encrypted also?

And if this is the case, I'll be able to access these encrypted data from iPhone or iPad using the service applications usual cloud?

(Ah yes and so that I am on this: person I know use FileVault.) Is there a drawback using FileVault (except that I have to remember my keyword safely, of course).

Thank you for helping me make my decision.

Full encryption of disk file Vault will have no effect on your cloud services. When you connect the drive is decrypted, it means any cloud service can access the same as data you - in its decrypted form. The downloads will not be encrypted (unless the service does its own encryption also).

See the suppliers for more details. iCloud has this info...

Security and privacy - Apple Support Overview iCloud

You can encrypt files before uploading to any cloud service - but which is separate from the File Vault.

File Vault has some potential drawbacks...

If the drive does not recover the data are more difficult because data is encrypted - make good backups & test them!

The computer is decrypting data "on the fly" which means it's more work than a system without encryption. The difference in performance is probably not noticeable with the new Macs, unless you start using reference tools.

Forgotten / lost the recovery key & password will make the data inaccessible.

The advantage is obvious, your files are not accessible to anyone, unless they have the password (or accessing the device when connected). Normally the files on a Mac can be read if someone know how to access the disk, that info is available anywhere on the internet

for example OS X Lion mountain: transfer files between two computers using target disk mode

It really depends on if you need protect your data "at rest" (when the power is turned off). File Vault will not protect you against any malware or other bad software etc. It's because the OS is actually the same when using - once that data is decrypted it is accessible, it's why File Vault like allows you to lock the screen with a screen saver password.

See the File Vault information if you do not already done...

Use FileVault to encrypt the boot on your Mac - Apple Support disk

  • Minimum installation to analyze with DIADEM data stored on server Citadel 5

I want to access the data stored on a server of the Citadel 5, with minimal software installed on the computer of the end with Diadem 11.1.

The goal is to perform the analysis of the data on the data acquired by data acquisition on a centralizedCitadel server in our lab (possibly in read-only mode).

In several positions, it is suggested to install the Client Web Lookout development/Run-Time Systems 6.2 Windows 2000/XP/Vista.

However, this installs a set of components (for example SQL engine...), that we would prefer to avoid.

What is the minimum configuration for a machine that has no installation of LabView?

    Sincerely

    Paolo Pierini

    Sorry for the misunderstanding;

as noted in the knowledge base How to recover data from a data base of Citadel with DIAdem, you must install the Citadel 5 database Access Pack, which is included in the package of Lookout. In any case, you can also download and install the Citadel 5 database Access Pack separately at this link.

This pack should be sufficient in order to retrieve the data from the database of the Citadel.

I could not find the version for Diadem 11.1, but given that the Diadem version 10.0 is the newest published, in my view, should be

  • How can I display the time of the data stored in a file using labview?

How can I display the time of the data stored in a file using labview?

    Hi Matt,

I think that we will need a little more information as to how you capture the data, what data you capture, etc.

If you capture a waveform, is to extract the time data waveform which includes the t0 and dt values, so you can understand the time stamp of a specific data point as in the image below.

  • If I upgrade to win 7 I will lose data stored vista files?

can anyone help? If I update to windows 7 I will lose data stored. That is, movies, music

An upgrade maintains your files, a custom installation does not work. It's a good idea to back up your files before upgrading to Windows 7.

Back up all your files and settings to avoid losing documents, photos and other information. Windows Easy Transfer is a free tool to copy files (not programs) from your PC and then transfer back after installation of Windows 7. If you don't want to use Windows Easy Transfer, you can copy your files to a Flash DRIVE or CD/DVD. Note: The easy transfer will not work when changing languages, or when moving from 64 bit to 32 bit (it will work ranging from 32-bit to 64-bit).

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/Windows-easy-transfer

    Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .

Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:

    • Back up any files and settings you want to keep

    • Install Windows 7

    • Reinstall all your files

    • Reinstall all the programs you want to use.

These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.
