• Very slow compilation of the (line 80K) large Excel worksheet...

  We have a module to determine if the provided postal code is present in a list. It would be simple enough, except that we have 80 k + postal codes to check. We turned in a number of folders, each containing about 8 postal k. An example of the structure:

  I'm afraid, I can't provide any indication of the speed of compilation, but it might be useful to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of maintaining such a large data set of reference in all modules. OPA is well suited to the development and storage of the rules and can be used to store data of reference up to a point, beyond which Excel and Word are found lacking.

  One solution would be to maintain the list of postal codes in a database (remove the build number and simplify your rule project) and use an "extension of the custom function" to retrieve the list of data during execution and determine whether or not a specific post code in the list.   Although this approach would require some initial effort, it might be better in the long term (especially if you use reference data more in your rules or if you already will help to load data from / save to a database)

• Lag when using track changes in the large document

  I do experience lag when using "track changes" in a large .pages document (about 180 pages). I get the wheel of the Rainbow for about 10 seconds after completing each change, which makes it very difficult to obtain concrete results. Other applications on my computer work simultaneously without a hiccup. I use the latest version of the pages on the latest Mac OS. Anyone with a similar problem? Tips to solve this problem?

  It's unfortunate that Apple has not adopted an icon "Achtung Minen!" for the v5 Pages. It is slower than the second coming on intermediate to large documents, and it only gets worse when you add images at higher resolution. Apple has not designed there is a professional-quality, or as a realistic replacement processor for MS Word.

  There is nothing you can do, but seriously, re - evaluate your software solution for processing.

  Word and Excel files are saved in Word and Excel and in my images.  If I delete the document of my images, it is also deleted in Word / Excel.  I checked and all Word/Excel documents are in my pictures including documents several years ago.

  You have them saved to this location for some reason any. If you don't like that you have to move them to the correct location and stop then save in the wrong location.

  Whenever you save something you must check if you save it in the correct location, of course.

  Do not delete them. You can use UNDO and trash to get back those you've accidentally deleted recently.

  I suspect that the cause may be due to

  1 installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2008. or

  2. I made a few changes on the associated C++ registry key. But do not remember what changes were made.

  I installed Chome. There is no question to open the Word or Excel document stored in Sharepoint

• 'IMPOSSIBLE READ of THE DISC or FILE SOURCE' - trying to select the last WORD Excel documents to copy into the folder for backup.

  I must also add that the download will be only good for the user, if they have excellent. Try to export your Excel form into a PDF and link to that instead. Then you will allow everyone to use, but also to see in a browser.

• Manage the large number of users

  We get a pre Prod database which we may have to create around 1200 users who have account within the database. Here are my concerns:
  
  1. What is the best way for users to connect to the database? We used traditionally file Tnsnames.ora but it would be tedious to go with that with so many users. We have heard of Active Directory that could help users to connect to the database. Is a proven way to go and how to implement it?
  
  2. What are the parameters we need to change/change in our spfile/init to welcome a large number of users? We are and we will use dedicated connections. It seems to me that we have to change the setting to a number greater than > 1200 at #process. Memory management we define automatic as SGA and PGA managed by Oracle. We have already appointed a large part of memory(8GB) to Oracle to make the management of SGA/PGA both for us.
  
  3. what other issues we must fear for the database when so many users log in the database? Most of these users won't use any storage to create objects.

  1. in fact, it is quite easy to write Windows scripts to distribute files tnsnames.ora, and it will be cheaper and easier to manage than the OID (Oracle Internet Directory), which is the LDAP solution to replace tnsnames.ora for searches.

  2. in the function if you use the shared server or dedicated connections. If you are using dedicated connections, then the process is the main. Allow any dead or inactive sessions, process etc., so less substantive 1500.

  3. This isn't a lot of users. Some databases out there takes care of hundreds of thousands of users. You must work on how many of these users will be active at the same time, and what will be the volume of transactions. For example a large report can use more resources than 1000 users, data entry.

  I have a requirement to display the large amount of data on the front in table 2 & 7 graphic during the time period 100hrs for 3 channels, data read from strings must be written in the binary file, and then converted and displayed in front of the Panel for 3 channels respectively.

  If I get 36 samples after conversion for all hours, up to 83 h 2388 samples displayed in table and graphical data are thin and samples correspond exactly.

  says there is no problem with the RAM or display, problem with conversion (timming issue) if I am data conversion of large amount it takes even, compared to the conversion less amount of data. So I modifed so that each data point Sec 1 is convereted at once, problem solved

  As a side note, you don't use error checking and probably have disabled the break on errors in the library: you should have received an error when you try to access the new sheet: consider to add proper error management and be sure that in this case to clear all objects active before leaving the service.
