Map of the Inspiron 1520 & 4965agn

It makes me nutty! My 1520 will suddenly drop his internet connection to my router. I'm running vista ultimate x 86.  I have a Fios router, which has been replaced as a test. When I try to reconnect after a fall, he told me that the security key is not valid and enter it again. It's okay! but to make foreign things, I can immediately connect to any other network unsecured in the range... and also my other laptops running at the same time do not lose the connection and can reconnect without any problem to my router. I uninstalled the hardware and the drivers and reinstalled. I reinstalled the older and newer drivers as well. I can't tell if it's a router issue (which seems not so!) or a wireless card problem (which also does not seem that it is the cause!). All I know is that I'm going bananas! I tried the option repair. I tried to disable and re-enable the options. It boils down to a key of bad security... then all of a sudden it reconnects. Someone else had this problem?

  • Backlight of the Inspiron 1520 is recently malfunction

I have searched these forums and have come to the such that a defective backlight may require a new inverter Board or a new lamp. I had my laptop (inspiron) 1520 less than a year (and I myself only the standard warranty 1 year) so it's me angry a lot and I hope that there is another difficulty. I know that the LCD works cause I can see the screen faintly. Another thing is that I can "throw" the backlight by closing the display close then open cover it, but this does not work all the time and never lasts. The backlight going awhile, I noticed a few initial flickers and dies again. What should I do? Are there qualified technicians who can do other than Dell inverter/bulb replacement?

It is the manufacturer of the equipment, not Microsoft, to write
and make available to download these drivers. Especially if your
equipment is older, it is quite possible that the manufacturer decides
that he is not worth his time and effort to develop drivers for
equipment he sells is no longer.
Check with the manufacturer to see if they will provide a driver, but
Be aware that they may not yet have the answer for you.

or should I reintall windows7 in my system.

In my opinion, unless you have a spare computer to install it, and
enjoy software testing and reports bugs to Microsoft,
install the software before it was dismissed is looking for trouble.
Yes, you can install the test version, but for almost everyone I
strongly advise against cela and wait until it is
    out.

  • Inspiron 1520 XP Pro must be reset to the factory

I use on my computer staff and 7 before Windows 8.  My wife hands me his Inspiron 1520 and asked me to reset it to factory settings so she can sell it without fear of any of its survival data.

So, tell me, what is the the cleaner way to solve this problem?  I have the original OS and the disk utilities disk, so I'm in good shape there.  Only, what is the best way to approach this project.

Thanks as always for all of the help that can be offered,

  • The upgrade disk hard inspiron 1520

I would spend my hard drive to a 7200, but I was wondering if my inspiron 1520 support Sata-300, or should I take a sata-150. The reason why I want to upgrade is that I have use multiple VMWares on the same machine and do a lot of multiprocessing.

Also, I was wondering what it does to my contract of den of accidental damage, what happens if I bought the hard drive from a 3rd party vendor?

    Thank you

  • The upgrade of the HDD Inspiron 1520 quesitons...

Hello so I would like to upgrade my hard internal advance in my Dell Inspiron 1520 of his current small and slow 80gig 5400 RPM for a faster hard driver preference 120gig 7200 RPM.  I went to the dell upgrade but available products only seemed a little overpriced.  I was looking at other sites, but I'm not sure how to tell how another hard drive would be compatible with my hard drive?

All websites recommended also to find a hard drive to buy?

  • Inspiron 1520 w / 1395 mini-map wireless connection problem

I just got a new laptop Inspiron 1520 with a 1395 802. 11 g Mini Card. We have a cable broadband connection and there is an office with a wireless router. I don't know whether or not it is a 'network'. The new computer found the wireless connection but not connecting not (cannot find server). The status shows "absorbent address." I tried to copy the same ISP that my old laptop had, but this doesn't seem to help. Also if it is a network, I need a network key password - make up or what? The wireless router is about 2 years old and I think it's a Belkin. I'm lost. Thanks for all the ideas.

  • Inspiron 1520

    System: Dell Inspiron 1520

    OS: Vista Premium

Network: Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN

    Hello

I see a lot of posts here unanswered so I really hope someone has a solution to my problem. Seen on my information above, I have an Inspiron 1520 and my problem to connect to my wireless network. I also have an Inspiron 9300 (XP) and it has absolutely no problems to connect to the same network. The 1520 is a connection very very slow. It may take up to 10 minutes sometimes, sometimes not at all so I have to keep turning on and off switch wifi on the side of the laptop until it can't find the network. I downloaded the latest drivers for the card, I even installed Vista (Recovery Disk) a couple of times. I have the latest version of windows updates installed, even Vista Service Pack 1.

If someone has any suggestions please let me know and greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • Inspiron 1520 HDD SSD

    Hello Dell Community

I have an inspiron 1520 for almost 5 years.   at that time, he worked as how it should be, but then, my hhd began to give so many errors and a loud "beep". I had to reinstall the operating system more than 10 times last year. replacing my hard drive with an ssd would be useful, and if I replaced my hard drive with an ssd would work, some say that it might work, and the other said, it won't.

    I currently have: http://www.fujitsu.com/cn/Images/MHW2160BH.pdf

Some people recommended I get a: kingston hyperx ssd 240 GB 3 k

    link: http://www.kingston.com/us/hyperx/ssd#sh103s3

    Thank you.

    Hello

Both seem to be connecting SATA SSDS could work.  I wonder if your laptop can handle the flow of increased speed of this good SSD card.  Have not tried, so I can't recommend or discourage the use.

But in general, Yes, an SSD will be more reliable and much faster than a traditional HARD drive.  All hard drives crash at some point given, even SSDS, so what you end up out of this upgrade is not something that anyone can predict.

Here is a link to the Pages of Support from Dell, and if you enter your service tag you will find a link to the manuals for your specific system.  There are techniques and replacement part information in their manuals that may be useful.

  • Inspiron 1520 black screen at power on

Hello, I have a problem with my laptop Inspiron 1520. When I turn it on the screen just stays black. LEDs are flashing and the fan starts. But then nothing happens. No dell logo. No splash screen. I plugged it to an external monitor, but there is also no signal. I did the test screen by pressing D and turning the power on and I can see the colors on the LCD but it is very dark and when it restarts it is completely black. I don't think it's to start completely to windows because I can't activate num or scroll caps. Nothing happens when I press the buttons. I also started with by pressing fn and after a minute or two, I hear as a result of beeps: * chime chime chime * beep-beep-beep-beep - beep beep pause pause and repeat. I got the graphic card replaced not even 2 years warranty and I think it might be broken again? Please tell me if I could try more and what I should do next. Thanks in advance, Ingo

It seems that the system completes POST but do not start Windows since you are not able to allow caps num or scroll and also while the diagnostics (Fn + power button) you hear the beeps (which suggests the diagnosis was running on the bottom) running.

But on the LCD BIST test (pressing D and power) you see the color screens (but dark) LCD screen should be fine and it could be a problem with the video card. I'm afraid that without the screen, that we will not be able to check further and you may need to check the installation by a local technician.

  • Inspiron 1520 boots only by pressing D + start button / stop

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520, who has an unusual problem. If I press the power button, the drive light hard turns on then turns off and turns on the led Verr Num. The screen is blank. However, if I press the D button and power at the same time button, the screen turns on and goes through a color test, then it goes to a start page where I can start windows normally. It starts windows and is very well. I am also able to press power button together and function to perform an evaluation of the system prior to initialization, which takes place at the moment.

Any ideas? Why is he not start normally with just the power button? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi stncald,

Share the results of the evaluation of the system of pre-launch.

Connect an external monitor to the system and press the power button to see if there is any display on the external monitor only.

Updated the BIOS OF THE system from the link http://dell.to/1bDPDqb , then check if the system boots normally.

You can check the link http://dell.to/176grvH to find out how to upgrade the BIOS.

Keep me informed of the results. I'll be happy to help you further.
