Map of XPS 1710 chart failure?

I was using my laptop XPS 1710 (Win XP SP3 and all updates; NVIDIA GEForce GTX Go7900) look at a web page today (no game or some other graphics intensive activity) when my mouse froze all of a sudden and I had to reboot.  After reboot, I now get a white screen when loading Win XP. The system seems to be start normally, just nothing on screen.

I can boot into safe mode and noted a series of groups Greens very pale, vertical of the hashmarks on all width of the screen that asked me that I have a video card problem.  I unchecked "hardware acceleration" for the video card, and while troubleshooting, I learned how to get started in the diagnostic mode.

I ran the diagnostics and everything seemed OK until the diagnosis of "Mode Test video-graphic SVGA VESA ' which revealed the following for what seemed like all resolutions...

Test results: fail

Error Code 5300:0119

Detected a failure when writing and reading video memory

I thought that might have been caused by my disabling the function to "rewrite" the "hardware acceleration", then I activated the first level of "hardware acceleration" and "diagnosis" is represented.  I always get the same failure and, when you select the 'line LCD Test', I get the following...

Line LCD test: failed

Error code 5300 - 0B 21

It's all a bit above my head, but the appear4s "Troubleshooting" to suggest that I update the video driver, which brings me to my question.

The video driver is labeled "A05" which I presume is BIOS related?  My current BIOS is A04.  Should I upgrade to the current A07 BIOS (I think) until I try to install the new driver?

Information will be provided with gratitude as needed.

TIA

My A60 will not start any OS. Start the laptop, the toshiba logo looks like a chart failure.
Then I choose a startup in safe mode or normal mode. But the purchase of the system starts, restart the portable computer.

In my view, it is a problem with the main memory, because I changed the hard drive with a win98 System displayed the message "not enough memory to start windows.

    I came only to non-graphique-mode.
In the bios, the memory is correctly stated.
Is there a solution for this problem?

    concerning

In my opinion, is graphic. If the Toshiba welcome screen does not appear as usual, there must be a problem with the graphics card. But the question is: what to do now? I'm afraid that the repair will be quite expensive.

Maybe you should offer it to eBay and take some money for him. Later, buy a new machine and be happy. Please let us know what you want to do now.

  • XPS 1710 & Windows 10

Aloha, I decided to give it a try because I always have my spare in excellent condition XPS1710 gaming laptop and update Windows 10. Installation went smoothly in Windows 7 with without a hitch. Everything seems to be in order to market and also brought back its reactivity, but the only problem I've tried to fix is the Audio driver which like many of those who are familiar with this model, a subwoofer. I can't seem to get one of the drivers to work but has its fate to the L & R speakers. Any ideas of what I can use?

I can't seem to get one of the drivers to work but has sound

Look in the device under his management... Controllers. If it says "High definition Audio Device" and then the laptop uses the audio native Windows driver, which is good, but does not have some features of the pilot of the provider. The seller, Sigmatel, bankrupt before Win7, so the latest driver available for you is the version of Vista, Sigmatel R171788. Try to install it by using compatibility mode.

    1. download and save the audio driver on your computer or to any location on the hard drive...
    2. double-click on the new folder to extract (unzip) the files of the driver.
    3. the wizard of the extractor will create a new folder for the driver files. It will be located at the "c:\dell\drivers\xxxxxx". Note the exact location that the wizard creates.
    4. If the driver begins to install automatically, stop (cancel) installation.
    5. search for the driver files on the hard drive (the location you noted).
    6. find the file "setup.exe".
    7. right click on setup.exe to open the context menu.
    8. Select Properties.
    9. Select the Compatibility tab.
    10. check the box "run this program in compatibility mode for"... Vista.

Note: I don't think that this driver had stereo mix, so if this is something you're used to have then try to install the Sigmatel R171789 driver by using the compatibility mode for XP.

Avoid installing any software Creative Labs Audigy which was available for your laptop before installing Sigmatel driver successfully because doing so could create a difficult problem with the Windows audio service.

  • Dell xps 8100; Disk failure hard error 2000-0142 0 self test status 79

Hi guys, I was wandering in the forums for a few hours, now looking for ana response to this question, and can't find anything clear. I have a XPS 8100 that I run a diagnostic and received a 2000-0142 error code that says MSG: error code 2000-0142 hard drive FAILURE 0 self-test status: 79 based on what I read in the forum is that there is a disk failure, and the only recourse is to solve the problem in my view is to replace the drive. Firstly, can someone please give me an absolute confirmation that it is indeed what I have to do, or is there something else I should do to fix this problem first? If a replacement drive is there someone could please tell me how can I do to get my OEM software off the coast of the partition recovery and on my new drive. I now office preinstalled and, of course, premium Windows 7 I would like to see on my new hard drive and I was not provided with one of the disks at the time of purchase. Thanks in advance to all those who respond

    Hi XPS8100kid,

Welcome to the Dell Community Forum.

The 200-0142 error is for hard drive failure and you need to replace the hard drive.

Since the hard drive has not, you would not be able to access the partition recovery on it. Data would be lost and the software already installed on your computer will need to be reinstalled.

Windows 7 will need to be installed on the new hard drive. Please click the link below to get the procedure of re - install Windows 7.

If based in the United States, you can ask for the backup drives by clicking the link below:

I would like to know if additional assistance is needed.

  • Dell XPS 700 PSU failure

    Hello.
So I have this problem with my diet (I guess) because to turn on my PC (Dell XPS 700), I hear a very quick tick of the PSU and a yellow led blinks constantly. The motherboard also has a light inside. This problem occurred after I tried to install DRR2 RAM for my motherboard because I had only 2GB. In advance, Yes, I did remove the new RAM and put it back in the old RAM, but the question is always composed. What I want to know is: what is the real problem, and if I have to put the money to repair, this replacement should I expect?

As a side note, it's perhaps irrelevant, but I remember well the computer incorrectly. Off time to "Shut" took more than 30 minutes, so I just pressed the power button, until it is turned off. It might cause the issue, I don't know, I just thought it was remarkable.

The power supplies used in the 700/710/720 were the same. The question is to FIND a such that the power supply is propitiatory.

I'm leaning more towards the motherboard because these cards are really very fragile and are prone to failure at a pretty good pace.  There are controls on the motherboard that can cause food to act funny.

As for two components a diet would be the cheaper to buy. You'll have to scout on sites like Ebay but to find a.

The same would be valid for a motherboard and a jury of 700 I really think that most are non-existent. If you can find one, they are on the pricey side.

Wish I could be more positive, but the fact that you have another one of these systems, which was still running is somewhat surprising. Most are now in a heap of junk now.

  • (Redirected) In my office 8500 XPS hard drive failure

Hard drive Seagate 2 to failed in my desktop XPS 8500.  I have a usb recovery drive and a backup on an external disk image.  I bought a Western Digital 1 TB blue disc that I installed in the computer.  When I start to install the image I created, Windows comes back and tells me that the disc is small.  The original drive has been set up as a Raid drive and the new WD drive displays as a non-Raid drive.  This will cause a problem?  In addition, my image is only 197 passing GB smaller than the new drive capacity.  When I'm in the bios, it shows the WD drive on SATA port 0 0 but it also shows a Samsung SSD 32 GB IDE oucederomsurlesecondport MSATA 1 1 set up as a Raid drive.  Help, please.

  • Problems of artefact and video memory XPS 1710

My XPS M1710 has been giving me some trouble at the end.

I have some video artifacts: scattered multicolored on-screen points as soon as BIOS starts through Win XP and Ubuntu desktop computers. Also get random garbled multicolor text in command prompt console modes, BIOS, diagnosis and recovery. Points appear from the moment wherever my BIOS start, always in the same places, and increase in number as the system warms. This seems to be a clear sign of damage to the video memory.

My hard drive also shows signs of damage: became an unmountable boot volume error. After running chkdsk partial (stopped at Midway after he had run 12 hours) and fixboot + fixmbr commands in the recovery console, I was able to boot win XP Pro again. But after a day of work, I got the blue screen with an error ntfs.sys. Now its been ntfs BSOD every time I start. CHKDSK now tells me that there is a fatal buffer on the hard drive, and I can't reinstall windows (ntfs format is freezing at 68%).

My BIOS diagnostics said a few defective stamps on one of my RAM cards as well as on my hard drive. The diagnosis is also showing errors on the video memory test.

My vid card is 256 MB geforce GO 7900 GS. I know the vid card also uses some of the main RAM (shared memory).

I'm trying to figure out if the problem of video artifacts is due only to either damaged dedicated video memory or cause the main RAM / hard drive. Did the diagnostic test video memory for the memory on the video card itself?

I know with certainty that one of the cards computer RAM is faulty: after removing the MEAC diagnosis clear memory for the other RAM card. But even with removed faulty RAM memory, video objects are still there and the diagnosis is still showing a video memory error. Logically, which seems to mean that the memory on the video card is partially fried as well. Am I correct to infer from this?

would appreciate any pointers. Replacement of the HD and RAM is relatively expensive, but having to replace the graphics card on a XPS is pretty hefty ($299 second hand)... Although the graphics card could wait until I have save little money, since points are not that huge a problem yet.

  • Limit the number of lines A map can use

    Hello

I try to use the "world/world_wo_gr.amap" card, but I'm having a problem for the page to load.

When I assign a value to each countty map does not load, but when I reduce the number i.e. to countires starting with A or B or C, then the page load very well. Is there a limit on the number of rows that a card can process?

I have a table with contains the country and dial code and I am just by selecting in that it contains 237 lines.

    This card works

SELECT NULL LINK, COUNTRY LABEL, c_desc
    FROM (select the country "Country Code - ' |") ISO_COUNTRY_CODES |', dial the Code - ' | COUNTRY_CODE CC_INFO c_desc
    where substr (country, 1, 1) in ('A', 'B', 'C'))

    http://Apex.Oracle.com/pls/Apex/f?p=16335:4

but this map fails to load completely

SELECT NULL LINK, COUNTRY LABEL, c_desc
    FROM (select the country "Country Code - ' |") ISO_COUNTRY_CODES |', dial the Code - ' | COUNTRY_CODE CC_INFO c_desc)

    http://Apex.Oracle.com/pls/Apex/f?p=16335:6

    Any ideas?

    Hi Andy,.

You have reached a limit that has been put in APEX 4.0 on the maximum number of rows retrieved for a query of card. That limit was not enough high for examples like the one you reported, where the result set could potentially return 200 + folders for all points on the selected card. This limit has been removed in the APEX 4.0.1 and you will now be able to retrieve the complete set of results for your card. By default, the lines in the map Wizard max will be now set to 300, but that can be changed on the page "Query" in the wizard, or on the page of the map, as for the chart series. Sorry for the inconvenience, Andy, but the solution will be available in our next version 4.0.1 patch APEX.

    Kind regards
    Hilary

  • Graphic WX8400 Support workstation

I want to buy workstation wx8400 and I have a simple question. It is possible to install on board all PCI cards, what I want, or PCIsocket is locked and I can install only nVidia Quadro?

I want to install GeForce GTX 660 or some ATI.

    Please answer.

I think you are talking Z840 workstation. First of all, please see page 10 in the following quickspecs.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?DocName=c04400043

You can find the list of officials supported NVIDIA and ATI graphics cards. Some of the maps requires 1125W PSU and option kit includes the front fan.

If you speak xw8400, please see page 7. taken graphics cards supported.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?DocName=c04136657

Basically, to use 3rd party video card is OK as long as the map follows the standard charts, however, it may request the specific power and the front fan. If you don't require specific requirements for graphics cards, I advise to use the graphics card supported.

  • ATI2DVAG error: loop blue screen infinite

I have VAIO VGC-RA840G Windows XP Media Center computer that is having a blue error screen. When you try to start, a blue screen appears saying driver ATI2DVAG is an infinite loop and it restarts again. I can only boot the computer in Mode safe.

I booted safe mode and use the VAIO Recovery Console to recover C drive. It seemed to be successful until the second reboot - error repeared. It seems to graphics card (ATI Radeon X 300, on the map: EAX300Le-A334C) is a failure.

What graphics card can I use to replace this card? When I place a new graphics card, how can ensure me that the VAIO recovery software don't not worth and try to change the driver of the old card?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Merrill,

Try to perform the system recovery once more and check if it works by following all the steps here: http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C268210

If the problem persists, contact Sony Service support here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/service.pl

Installed on your computer video card is ATI RadeonX300 size 128 and Type DDR SDRAM. You can use a new graphics card with the same above indicated. First, remove the preinstalled a x 16 PCI Express Slot graphics card and install a new one that does not have the power over 364.7 wattsmax. / 100 - 240V ~ 7A (50 / 60 Hz).

  • Windows 7, normal use - mouse freezes when you move around the screen

Hi there I use Win7 since the RC1 of scene and found it rock solid, I'm now running Windows 7 Enterprise. I installed it on a Dell XPS 1710 and had few problems so far. When I start my computer and you move the mouse around the screen, the mouse "hangs" for a second or two, then moves, then crashes again. In even the startup sound I is unstable, as are MP3 when I play those. All these things worked * perfectly * until a lock suddenly toward the top of the computer having been on during a few hours, which was a new event. The computer haddnt overheating but since then this nervousness thing that happened.

    What I tried:

Selective startup, without the elements of startup and services, without change.
Search for new drivers for my card (Nvidia 7950GTX) gfx, no change.
Shut down the computer to turn off this device to save power 'allow' in the option of USB hub root

None of that helped him. The CPU spikes 16% at most when you the mosue blocking, I have a lot of RAM available. Occurs when I use the touchpad as well and even when I'm not running all programs - oh, I have a Microsoft Intelli Mouse 5 button.

Hopfully somebody can provide some more ideas for me. Thanks in advance
